"I was given two (months) free samples of this medication to regulate my extremely heavy & long (month and a half) cycle. I have only been taking it for 3 days and immediately nausea, headaches, and mood swings have hit me hard! BUT after two days of taking the pill my period stopped. It is chewable and I was afraid of that but it has a really nice minty flavor. Hopefully after about two weeks or so the side effects will subside."

"I've been on this pill for 10 years now and I've never had any problems with it. Before the pill I used to have bleeding for 2-3 weeks at a time but now it's predictable and only light bleeding for 2 days, 4 days at the most but that's with stress in life. Some months have no blood at all which I'm cool with that. I did gain a little bit of weight here and there but it was nothing I couldn't work back off. No mood swings, no cramps, no acne, nothing. I love the fact that you can take it at different times and it still works. I try to take it every night at 9 but sometimes things get busy and I'm late by a few hours. I've never missed an active pill before and I actually don't even bother taking the brown pills that taste like copper. I got the chewable kind so it's like popping a mint. The payment is a bit dumb though. When I had my mom's insurance it was free but now that I'm married and on my husband's insurance, it's about $94 a month and keeps climbing in price each year."

"I love this BC. Not gonna lie, the first month-3 months suck pretty bad. I was nauseous pretty much 24/7 and spotting for a while nonstop, but it's totally worth it. I naturally have chronic anxiety, but this pill never contributed to it. I actually feel like I've calmed down quite a bit since I've been on it. It definitely helps keep my moods in check and feel like a normal person. I only have a 4-5 day period at the end of each pack with one heavy day, usually. I got on this to regulate my periods. And I haven't gotten pregnant thus far. Never gained weight, never changed my appetite, nothing. I've never had a side effect other than the first couple of months. Only bcp that didn't make me crazy!"

"Love this product! I started taking it a few years ago to clear up my skin, and it exceeded all expectations. Not only is my skin totally clear, I no longer have heavy periods and I have never experienced any negative side effects. Sometimes when I do get my periods they come at irregular times, but they are always very light. I'd recommend this product!"

"I have only one con which is my oily skin. Other than that my scalp hair is growing super fast, I haven't have a cycle in 2 years ( thats how long I've been on it ) my skin is super clear, no cramps. I really have no symptoms of anything. No complaints."

"This is my first experience with bc given to me after many years of complaining of heavy periods and a diagnosis of anemia. It took some adjusting but I now have a 4 day period with only one heavy day instead of 8 days. Downside: mood swings and they're constantly raising the price. My $25 program expired and they're not offering it anymore. I paid $120 yesterday for one month pack. Keep asking for generic but my doctor says there is none and told me to do all the research for a better one. Isn't that her job???"

"I started Generess Fe 3 weeks ago, and at first I was extremely wary; I had reviews about unstoppable weight gain, terrible mood swings, breakthrough bleeding, acne worsening, and headaches, so I was on the edge. The first 3 days my face broke out the worst it had since middle school, and I was so upset about it because I had spent so much time and money to good skin, but after about a week and a half or two, my face has completely cleared up, since then I actually have less small acne then when I wasn't on BC. The only side effects I have experienced so far (knock on wood) is I am a bit more touchy on certain days or even random days, and I have a good bit more of the munchies or cravings, but otherwise no weight gain or crazy moods. :)"

"On this about 3 weeks so far. I have had some moodier days than usual, no reason (Dr did forewarn me). For some reason where my body temp was always a bit higher than normal, now I'm cold quite a bit. Energy level is low, hopefully will improve with New Year workout. Breast are a bit larger."

"I've been on this pill for 3 months now. Dr. switched me to it because I have endometriosis and the original birth control I was on (Loestrin) wasn't helping my symptoms. I've been symptom free for 2 months now. I've had no nausea or weight gain. I have been breaking out but considering the symptoms I had with the endometriosis I'll take a little acne if it means my pain is gone. Periods have gotten much lighter and shorter. So far so good!"

"I've previously used other pills, patch, and the ring. My periods usually lasted only 4 days, however with this pill I am bleeding a lot longer. I've started spotting and took my first pill, little did I know I would be spotting for 4 days!! Today is my 4th day on my period and it looks way too heavy. No mood swings, no weight gain, skin clear (no difference) I'm only taking this for contraceptive purpose. I am in a new relationship, and I'm very worried how long this blood flow might last."

"I started taking the chewable tablets in mid march when my period was lasting an extremely long time and was extremely heavy. Yes, I got my period at age 14 which is to be considered late, in December, and got it at the end of February randomly and it lasted almost two months EXTREMELY heavily to the point where I was missing classes and my bed sheets were soaked. Once I started these pills, I felt great. My periods were extremely light, my breasts were huge, and life was great. But then, weight gain occurred and I gained almost 15 pounds in a month. Coming from someone who used to be able to gain nothing after eating everything, this was awful. I tried exercising, and nothing worked. "

"I LOVE this birth control! I've been on it for almost a year. The first month or two my appetite shot up, and I gained a little weight. But after that first month or two my body finally got used to it, and my appetite went back to normal, and weight went down again. Other than that there were no side effects! And it's done its job in preventing pregnancy!"

"I have had the most positive experience with Generess Fe. I have been taking it for over 2 years and couldn't be happier. I simply feel like myself and have not had any issues adjusting to it. My body did not react in a negative way and I have not had any problems with weight gain. I definitely recommend giving it a try if you're curious about it. Also, their savings card really does work and I never pay over $25/mo for my prescription even though my insurance does not cover it at this time."

"I've been taking this pill for 15 days and have experienced break through bleeding from day 1 until now. I have mild to little cramps, some nausea but no acne or weight gain. If it wasn't for the breakthrough bleeding I would continue this pill. I am getting married in 25 days and there is no sign of the bleeding stopping, for that reason I am very depressed and unhappy. I was not warned about these side effects before taking it. I've tried taking it with grapefruit juice to slow down the estrogen metabolism, that didn't work. "

"I never got my period regularly, but I once I started taking this I stopped getting it altogether. No joke, I gained over 50 pound in the year and change I was on this, and I can't attribute more than maybe 5 or 10 pounds to lifestyle changes. I went from an A/B cup to a D cup as well, and towards to end I was exhausted 24/7 and sleeping up to 18 hours a day. I can't say much about what changes once you stop as I've only been off of it for a week or so now. I take other medications too, and this was the first birth control pill I'd been on, so I wasn't sure at first if the birth control was the one causing all this for a bit, but I'm fairly certain it is now."

"The 10 is for effectiveness, but for nothing else. Generess kept me baby free. I have Endometriosis, why my dr prescribed this med, and my cycle is only 2 days but still pretty heavy. But oh the side effects. I'm 21, breaking out worse than I did even going through puberty. My appetite has spiked, I've gained about 8 lbs, and can't seem to get it off with my usual gym/boxing class regimen, I already practice a mostly yeast-free eating lifestyle and still nothing helped. Further- my anxiety is OFF THE CHARTS, I have a history with depression but haven't actually experienced it like this in years- which adds to the constant fatigue. Switching to Mirena this cycle- I hope your experience is better than mine!!"

"I have a very bad case of endometriosis, which causes very severe pain during my period. After trying a few different birth control pills which my doctor said may lessen the pain, to no avail, I eventually had surgery. Still, the pain persisted. After that I finally got my hands on this little green miracle, and somehow (in a way I personally do not understand) the pill has stopped my periods completely. I simply do not have them, ever, not even spotting, and I am only 20 years old. With no periods, no pain. If I stop taking them the periods and pain resume. I love this pill, its a blessing for sure."

"This birth control really helped control my periods they are far more light and less painful than before I started this pill. The down side is now it takes just about a miracle to get me turned on, which was never a problem before."

"I've been on this medication a week so far. It's my second birth control ever. Hadn't been on birth control for about 5 years until my OBGYN gave me some sample packs of this. Honestly, after reading other reviews I was fairly scared to even try it. I will say, the first 2 and a half days were rough, particularly the second night. Lots of nausea and vomiting on the second night. Had a very slight headache for about 4 pills in. Took my 7th pill today. I feel pretty great! The side effects (for me) went away after about 3 pills. Maybe a little VERY slight and tolerable nausea here and there, mostly after waking up due to empty stomach. Make sure you take this medication when you have food in your stomach, for sure. Otherwise, two thumbs up!"

"I started taking the pill a little over a month ago and it still makes me feel so nauseous. I bled for a full month and it was heavy some days and light others but the doctor said that was normal. I don't want to stop taking it because I'm getting married in two months so I'm pushing through the horribleness of it and hoping the nausea goes away eventually. Oh and it makes me so moody too!"

"I did not like Generess. It made my periods very regular (but heavy) and did prevent pregnancy well, but it made me breakout like crazy and gain weight. I've never had a real acne problem until I got on this pill at 20. I've been on it for 4 months and have has non-stop cystic acne. This acne has been not only on my face, but also on my neck, chest, back, and butt. This pill also made me gain 8 lbs, and I have not changed eating habits at all. This pill has also caused me to have ridiculous mood swings and be a cranky, moody, slightly bitchy person. Would not recommend"

"I am 33 years old and have had two children. This is my seventh month taking this pill. I have had troubles finding a pill that would not give me heavy spotting for months. I have not gained a pound. I did have nausea and breast tenderness for the first few weeks and slight spotting. I missed my period last month but got it a week early this month. Periods are a lot lighter and last no more than 4 days. I am not a fan of chewing my pills so just swallow. Overall I would recommend this pill."

"I've been on Generess Fe for 5 weeks now. I started the first day of my period and practiced safe sex the first month. I was on Loestrin before which made me feel crazy. And Nuvaring, which made sex uncomfortable. Generess is not so bad, I did get nauseous in the beginning, and when I had to double up when I missed a pill. I do feel anxious but I also have been recovering from generalized anxiety disorder, so it's a normal feeling for me. I did however have a strong depressed feelings for a few hours but again I thought it was my period. I feel my moods go up and down faster but they aren't as bad as the other pills I was on. I do feel more calm on this pill. I do feel breast tenderness but that's it."

"I have been on this pill for about 2 months now. My first period on the pill came exactly when It was supposed to come and was normal. This last period was really light and only three days. I've had weight loss but I'm not sure it was the pill since everyone is reporting the opposite. I did feel super nauseated and sad every few days, but its normal. And my breasts have grown! But they feel tender. I have been taking the pill for severe back pain and with the pill, that disappeared."

"I was on Sprintec for 4 months and it was absolutely horrible. I've been on Generess for 2 months and the changes have been dramatic. Periods are far lighter and shorter and so far, very regular. The extreme opposite was true before. It did freak me out slightly at having such short periods. I do still have some cramping the week before, but even than is better than before. I'm hoping that this pill continues to be a good experience."
