Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I'm on my 2nd month of taking Loestrin 24. I went to my doctor 2 months ago because I had not had a period during the 5 months prior to the visit. She prescribed to me from what I can recall oxyprogesterone, she told me it should start my period within 2-3 days. It didn't come until 2 weeks later so then I finally started taking Loestrin 24. That WHOLE first month I bled, some days it was just average bleeding, some light, and just a handful of days bad cramping and heavy. Now being on my 2nd month of this pill I'm on the 3rd week row of the pill pack and I'm already starting my period early. The only side effects I've noticed from taking this pill is my breasts have grown half a cup size, no nausea or weight gain so far."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I went on this pill to regulate my period and reduce the days of my cycle. Before I was averaging about 5 days on my period but it was never regular. I'm finishing my 2nd month on this pill and so far my 2 periods lasted between 8-10 days. It is much lighter (like spotting) but lasts forever. My last period came a week early too. This pill has not caused any weight gain or emotional mood swings and it did keep my skin clear and I'm not pregnant, but those are the only positive things about this pill. I will be calling my Dr. for another recommendation."

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I'm 41. My latest check up showed that I'm severely anemic. My GYN prescribed Junel Fe. As soon as I started taking it, I started to have heavy bleeding, humongous blood clots, horrible cramps, and migraine for 15 days now. I called my GYN's emergency line by the 11th day, & she advised me to stop taking the pill immediately. Guess what, the heavy bleeding continues, abdominal cramps are non-stop despite taking pain medication & has gotten me doubled over and in tears for days on end. Now my GYN wants to discuss surgery to fix my bleeding & my anemia. I'm still bleeding as I'm typing this. It's the 15th day, & 4 days since I stopped taking the pill."

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I had been taking Lo Losterin before starting Junel FE but had to switch per my insurance. I've been taking Junel since late July but since starting it, I've been hoping I would start feeling better. Constantly feeling nausea is the #1 problem for me. It doesn't matter how accurately I take the medication, at some point in every day, I feel sick. And then I start to get paranoid and wonder if I'm pregnant and feeling morning sickness. #2 is the irregular periods. I've never had a period that was consistent so I thought this would be a good way to regulate - boy was I wrong! My period will start in the middle of my active pills, be there for 3 days and then come back for 3 days on my iron pills. WHAT THE HECK, Vern?"

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I'm 22. Been on this for 3 months. They put me on it for heavy periods and horrible cramps. I have gained 10lbs, had nausea, horrible pelvic pain, had no periods, and bad mood swings. I do not recommend."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This has done absolutely nothing. I was put on Junel Fe and that did wonders for me: clearing up acne, helping with weakness and cramps. However my local pharmacy switched me to this. I never ever write bad reviews but I feel so strongly about this I have to. My cramps are equally as painful as before going on the pill, my acne has flared, my mood has worsened, and I've had horrific headaches. Totally the worst thing in the world. Now I'm sitting in an 18 hour long car ride with some of the worst cramps I've ever had. No point in taking the medicine for period symptoms of it does absolutely nothing."

One of my friends recommended it to me so I decided to ask my gyn if I can try it and he was like I see why not! So yes it works ........ Gildess Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've been on this pill for 2 years, when I first started using it is didn't see immediate change right away, but I continued to use the pill gradually and started to see great changes. I do not have break outs and I use to have extreme unbearable cramps where I could not walk nor stand, now my cramps are very tolerable and lasts for half a day with the help of Tylenol strength. My period comes on Wednesday and is off by Friday every month. This pill is really good and I will continue to use it."

Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Took this for a WEEK will never take this in my life again it has messed up my stomach really bad it gave me bad acid reflux nausea, Vomiting - I experienced vomiting everytime I ate and drank the last 2 days today was my last day on it. I'm scared that I messed up my stomach for good. I wouldn't recommend if you have a sensitive stomach."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Been on microgestin FE 1/20 since September. I had some side effects -nervousness, odd dreams, during the first 10 days. I lost my appetite and have not regained it. During this last 6 weeks my anxiety has returned triple. I can't sleep. I'm exhausted. I have vivid nightmares. It's awful. I have constant feeling of dread & anxiety, like I want to break things. I got on the med to control constant menstrual bleeding...I'm 47 now. The pill has worked well for that and my hair is growing back where I lost some due when iron was low. My period cramps have increased a little, but not overbearingly. I have Dr appt in January. Hope she takes me off this pill before I go insane. They should take this pill off the market."

Microgestin Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Stopped periods completely by 3rd month; has side effects of tender breasts, making me sleepier after taking it (take it before bed, no problem). Caused the WORST acne I've ever had in my life. Used it to skip periods since mine are very heavy/bad, did that just great. No side effects I couldn't deal with/live with, other than the acne. Deep cystic types, white heads, oily skin - switching since I'm not looking to prevent pregnancy, just to manage periods & I can try a different hormone composition. Missing a pill in the first 2 months caused spotting, after that, missing one here or there didn't do much."

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This is the WORST birth control. Ever. Granted I don't get a period. My breasts are so sore I don't even know what to do. I'm a stomach sleeper and that is not an option with this. It's unreal. I will be back to my loestrin and never even looking at this stuff again."

Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I originally started on the 1/20 dose, moving up to the 1.5/30 because my doctor made an error on my script. I am very happy with this bcp, as it reduced my awful cramps, and heavy menstruation. I have 2 day periods now, little to no cramping. My acne has cleared almost completely other than the once a month breakout on my chin that I feel is unavoidable and I'd rather be on a pill that takes care of most of my acne, rather than no acne at all. I occasionally will have breast tenderness, but not every month and I don't really notice it when it does happen. Also, my symptoms of PMS have decreased significantly. My only complaint is that I do get headaches that may be caused by this pill, but I cannot say for sure that they are."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "When I got Loestrin it was a God send!, No other birth control could regulate my period and not make me gain weight, and help with the pain. With this pill i went from 7 days to 4 days. I haven't been on birth control for a few years but even being off it my period is still only 4 days ( that's a miracle when you have endometriosis) I love this pill and wish they would bring it back."

"I was hesitant to take birth control. I tried it twice between the ages of 17 and 20 and both times didn't like it. It made my acne worse and periods still were heavy. I guess my new doctor at age 26 actually listened to my problems and prescribed me with this. She said I was experiencing bad PMS. Nearly half my cycle my breasts hurt, I always seemed to struggle with acne no mater what product I used. I was over weight. My hair was brittle, heavy periods with painful cramps. This pill (Blisovi FE 1/20) fixed all of that!! My breasts are no longer tender, and I lost some weight. Been on it just over a year. Only reason I didn't give 10 stars is because I skip the placebo and still have some breakthrough bleeding and like two pimples each month."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I'm on my second month of taking Loestrin, the first month was just fine, although I've had migraine headaches since taking this pill. Now on my second month I've had spotting, light breakthrough bleeding, and cramps on and off. My doctor told me to stick with it for another month. My periods are much lighter and fewer days which is why I started taking this birth control pill to keep from becoming anemic again."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I LOVE this pill. I'm 18, not sexually active, and I used to have a bit of acne (which the pill cleared up). It's honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me. My periods used to be very, very heavy, and now they're light and I have almost no cramps whereas I used to have to skip classes because of the pain and I always felt like puking on the second day. My breasts got a tiny bit bigger, but not really. I haven't had any weight gain or other side effects except for the fact that I feel awesome and my mood swings went away. Everyone's different, but this pill just happened to be perfect for me. During the first month I spotted and got discouraged, but overall I'm so glad I stayed on it. Five stars."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I'm 19 years old and I spent a total of 8 months on this medication. The first three months were great! No symptoms, no weight gain, no period! After those perfect 3 months I began losing large amounts of hair. In addition, I gained 15 pounds which I am now losing easily since switching to Camila. I had terrible migraine headaches, irregular bleeding, and I forgot to say my blood pressure when from a healthy low to 140/80 in just two months. My skin was yellow. However, on the bright side, I did reach an entire cup size larger (34C to 34D) but that's most likely from the weight gain and estrogen in general."

Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I was given a prescription to this type of birth control after another was not strong enough. This type of birth control was awful for my body though. Even though my period synced up with no breakthrough bleeding, I was losing lots of hair and growing dark hair in places that I never have before- chest, chin, etc. There were no other stressors that could have caused this as I was out of school for summer. I wanted to stay on it for 3 months, but I saw that My hair was becoming very thin. I got off of this quickly after a little over 3 months"

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have never been on any other birth control apart from Loestrin. Its been about 6-7 years and I absolutely love it. Very very light to no periods at all, no cramps, no weight gain, everything was perfect. It has been just the past few months that I have experienced any problems. I have gained about 15 lbs since first taking this medicine so I believe that is the cause of the change. I am now having cramps, heavier periods and my skin is breaking out."

Junel Fe 1/20 (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I have yet to finish my first month of Junel Fe and am wondering if starting birth control was the right decision for me. I have gained six pounds in less than three weeks and have experienced more breakouts than all of last year combined. I'm experiencing acne on my forehead and upper back. I feel emotional but nothing too out of the ordinary, but the weight gain and acne makes me feel insecure even though the acne is still probably considered mild and I am told you cannot notice the weight gain. I have had spotting for the last two weeks, starting off as bright red and cramps and has turned into dark brown without cramps. I have nothing to compare this birth control to and I fear that nothing will change and no other brand will be better."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "I've just started taking Loestrin 24 FE for my painful, heavy, irregular periods. I was two weeks late on my period before I started the pill. I've been on the pill for almost two weeks and I've started spotting. Call me crazy but I think it might be because this is when my period should have started if the last one wasn't late. Up until yesterday when the spotting started I haven't had any problems. I haven't been feeling crazy or emotional like I used be. I've felt happy and more energetic. I've noticed my breasts have gotten bigger. Skin looks great. I've had minimal swelling and no serious problems yet. I have hope in the medicine that it will work once my body adjusts to it."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "Took this med for one full month and half of another and stopped using it. Headaches daily: pain at top of my head and down my neck, mood swings and anxiety like never before. Unable to lose weight. Just didnt like how it made me feel. Period was not as heavy was only benefit. Ill suffer 4 days of heavy period to never feel like this again."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This is my fifth month on Lo Loestrin 24 Fe. First month was normal, second month I stained heavily for 4 days, third month I didn't get it, and the fourth month I stained heavily for 9-10 days, then got my period a week and a half later for four days. Next month I stained lightly on and off and I started my sixth month about two weeks ago and still no period."

Loestrin 24 Fe (ethinyl estradiol / norethindrone) "This pill did not work well at all for me. I was on it for severe cramping and while it slightly dulled the cramps, its side effects made things worse than they were to begin with. For the 4 months that I was on it, I had 2 periods a month, one half way through the pack and one at the end. Both had bad cramps. After the first month, my skin started to break out like crazy. Not only that, but this pill made me really moody, to the point that I would cry over nothing and get really upset at people. "
