For Birth Control "This is the 3rd time I have attempted to take birth control. I have severe ovulation issues, and my doctor thought trying a “low dose pill” would help. Aurovela Fe is absolutely awful. I’m on my 2nd month, week 2 of the pack, and I’ve never experienced anxiety and mood swings this severely in my life! Sobbing, crying, even having emotional breakdowns. I have GI issues already, and this pill has made them even worse. And the breast tenderness?! I thought they just hurt, but my significant other even mentioned how much larger they looked. Oh, and the bloating is also severe, like really bad. I’m 31, and I’ve never felt like my life was spiraling out of control until I started taking this. I’m not even giving it a chance to “level out.” I will be stopping cold turkey. If I could give this zero stars...I would give it a negative 5."

For Birth Control "I see a lot of these reviews sharing depression and anxiety symptoms. I have never been a person to say I struggle with those, and for the most part throughout the 5 months being on it, I didn't notice anything. But looking back on it, I definitely see the correlations. It would come to me in spurts, though, the sadness wasn't throughout my whole experience. But I noticed I was sad about things that I had already gotten over/accepted previously, which was odd. Anyway, my BIGGEST concern is the ACNE it causes. IF YOU HAVE FOR THE MOST PART CLEAR SKIN, DO NOT TAKE THIS. It will ruin your skin so badly. I stopped the pill because of this. Never in my life had I had acne so badly, and within just 5 months. Also, my breasts are huge and so sore, had to get new bras. Got fitted, went from an A to a borderline C, they said. Never in my life... that was so crazy. Either way, the acne was so bad I couldn't stand it. Not even for bigger boobs..."

For Birth Control "I started this pill a few months ago, and I absolutely love it so far. I was on the patch for 5 years and wanted to try out a pill with a low dose. My period went from 8 days to 4 days, and my intense mood swings completely disappeared. I haven't experienced any increased appetite or any breast tenderness. If you haven't taken a previous pill with a higher dose, I wouldn't turn away from Aurovela based on all the low reviews. Every person's body is different, so you never know how it'll affect you until you try it."

For Birth Control "I started taking Aurovela FE 1/20 on March 12th. It came as a very impulsive decision to seek help for my out-of-control mood swings I would get each month before my cycle. For many years, I just thought I had depression. However, my mother would always tell me to track my feelings around my cycle. Well, I decided to take that chance after another failed relationship. Since I started taking it, I’ve noticed a much better mood and peace of mind. Also, I take the pill continuously. I skip the placebo week and start the next pack. Pretty much, my OBGYN wants to eliminate my cycle. I have experienced breakthrough bleeding, which is normal until my body fully adjusts. I don’t have tender breasts, bloating, or fluid retention like I did before I started the pill. Most of the reviews I’ve read seem to be from others who have taken other pills before starting this. I also take the pill with a small dose of Lexapro for anxiety and depression. I’d give it 10 stars so far."

For Birth Control "This is the worst birth control ever. I’ve been on Junel and Lo Estrin for 10 years and never experienced any side effects. Walgreens gave me this birth control instead of Junel in Jan, and I finally called my Dr. to switch me back to Junel. Horrible, horrible acne, breast tenderness, weight gain (I’ve been the same exact weight for 7 years), terrible anxiety and sleeping issues, as well as low energy. Within three days of switching back to Junel, my entire face cleared up, and I’ve been able to sleep again. Hopefully, breast tenderness will go away with time, as well as back to my normal weight. Do not take this birth control as an alternative to Junel. If you use Walgreens, find a new pharmacy that will give you Junel."

For Birth Control "I was scared to start this birth control from the reviews I have read, but I have had zero issues with it. I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe for 4 years and needed to switch because of insurance issues. I did not gain any weight, break out, or have any unwanted side effects. My boobs felt a little swollen for the first week or so, but that quickly faded. I got my period when expected, and it was so light for 3 days. I have had no issues, and I am pleasantly surprised with how easily I transitioned to this pill."

For Birth Control "I was switched to this birth control, previously taking Lo Lo Estrin, and now have been on this birth control for the last 2 weeks. All I have seen are negative reviews, and Mom told me to try it out because every birth control is different for everyone. This birth control I can already tell is horrible. I have tender breasts, terrible irritability, and I mean BAD & very emotional. The smallest things have been setting me off, and I’m not normally like that at all except for 1-2 days before I begin my period. I have also noticed increased appetite, and that worries me as well because I don’t want to gain weight due to a birth control. I am very upset with this situation when my old birth control was perfect for me. Do not take this birth control, it is awful, and as everyone else is saying, but it will turn your life for the worst."

For Birth Control "My pelvic health doctor suggested this birth control as a way to help with ovarian cysts and cycle-related pains. I was on it for 4 months. I started having a lot of sleeping problems, anxiety (especially at night), breast tenderness, severe bloating, gas pains, digestion complications. I also experienced some depression, feelings of despair, and dread. I thought it was all from my stressful job (RN), but I didn't have these issues before taking this bc. I gave it 4 months for my body to adjust to it, but this is not a good fit for me. I've been off the birth control for 5 days now and noticed a HUGE difference in my digestion, my fluid retention has improved, and I have been sleeping better at night and no longer dread what the next day will bring. Hopefully, this review will help others as well."

For Birth Control "I have been using this birth control for 6 months and recently switched from the IUD due to getting BV continuously. My anxiety has been worse than it has been in a long time. I sleep so much more now and noticed I was slowly falling into a depression. I lost interest in many things and had less patience than I did before. My boobs are so sore and hurt all the time. I’m so glad I wasn’t the only one, after reading the reviews, I thought it was just me. I would not recommend this birth control to anyone, especially if you have a history of anxiety and depression. I’m stopping the pill now that I know the causes of a lot of the side effects I have gotten."

For Birth Control "If you have a history of depression and/or anxiety, this birth control pill Aurovela Fe 1/20 may make it worse. I have depression and anxiety that I have been treated for for 5 years now and been stable on medication. I have been taking Microgestin Fe 1/20 for about 3 years now, and my pharmacy ran out of everything, and this was their only option. Within 3 weeks, I am experiencing depression and anxiety similar to when I was first diagnosed with depression and wasn’t in treatment for it. It’s awful. I feel terrible. Aurovela Fe 1/20 has given me side effects of me being extremely bloated, my breasts are insanely huge and so sore, I have acne breakouts in 6 places on my face and all over my chest and collarbone area. This pill is absolutely awful, and I hate how it makes me feel. The pharmacist assured me it was all the same active ingredients, and I shouldn't notice a change. Well, when I’m 3 weeks into it and having suicidal thoughts return for the first time in 5 years, and this has been the only change, I beg to differ."

For Birth Control "This is my first time using Aurovela or the pill as birth control. In the beginning, I experienced nausea and breast tenderness. Over time, the breast tenderness went away, but the nausea is constant. I didn’t think the pill was the reason, but I woke up out of my sleep one night crying about something I thought I was over. My anxiety is through the roof, and I’ve never had a problem with it before. I take my pill at 8 every night, so I didn’t feel as sick as the pill would make me. Now I’m on month 2, and I've had cramping, bloating, painful headaches, etc. All the reviews I’ve read I can relate to, the only good part is not being pregnant and having clear skin, but other than that, this pill kicks me in the butt! I’ve also had spotting weeks before my period."

"I was switched to Aurovela 1/20 randomly without my consent when my pharmacy couldn’t fill my normal birth control. From day one of taking Aurovela, my boobs have been extremely tender, and I have headaches almost every day. My period went from 3 light days to about 6 days and counting-driving me insane not knowing when it will end. I’ve noticed a decrease in my sex drive, and I’m always soooo tired. I want out! I would not recommend, and after reading these comments, I’m not sure why Aurovela is still being made with these reviews."

For Birth Control "I am currently on week four of taking Aurovela because my pharmacist couldn’t get my normal birth control in (Junel Fe 24). I am still new at taking birth control. I have been taking it for about 8 or so months now and haven’t had a problem until now. After switching, I have been experiencing horrible breast pain, and I can also feel lumps. I know it’s normal to experience breast tenderness and develop some acne when starting or changing birth control, but this exceeds breast ‘tenderness.’ I have had breast pain for the entire time I have been taking Aurovela and have had acne breakouts here and there. My anxiety has also picked up as well."

For Birth Control "Before going on this medication, I had, for the most part, clear skin and was actually happy with it! I've been doing a nightly skin routine every night to keep it this way! But when I started this birth control, almost instantly, I got acne all along my chin line and lower cheeks. My face is so sore and tender, along with my boobs! And they are also 2 sizes bigger and are constantly sore. I am going to get it switched, as my face looks terrible now. Mood swings come and go as well..."

For Birth Control "I switched to this birth control after I was on Etodalac. This one didn’t give me periods, only brown spotting for 4 months, then all of a sudden, it gave me the worst period of my life. All month round, I had breast soreness, terrible cramping, terrible anxiety, and what felt like depression because I would always cry. Do not go on this if you have very bad anxiety because it made mine so bad, it’s absolutely ridiculous."

For Birth Control "I pride myself on taking care of my 4c natural hair. This pill has made my hair become weak, brittle, extremely dry, and damaged, and even worse, it’s falling out by the handful. I’m completely devastated. I have been using this pill for 3 months. Also experiencing extreme, swollen, and painful breasts. Last night, fluid was leaking from one breast! Extreme mood swings, depression, and anxiety. Almost unable to focus, which is completely outside my character. Came here to see if I was crazy, and I’m clearly not judging by all of these reviews. Today, I’m stopping cold turkey."

For Birth Control "So far, I’ve only experienced bloating and breast soreness and fullness. I already have fibroadenomas in my breast, so it makes them really sore and tender. Emotions are a little higher than usual, but I still recommend."
