"This is my first time taking birth control pills and I was worried about all of the side effects I've read about. It feels like I'm not on anything. I noticed a few days where I was very emotionally sensitive, but other than that, nothing, which is fantastic! The only reason I gave it a 9 and not a 10 is I've only been on it a month so wouldn't know if I'm pregnant yet, ha!"

"My acne worsened, I got awful anxiety attacks that I have never experienced before. I am very little and was told I wouldn’t gain weight and I have. The absolute worse is the nausea, constantly nauseous and feeling I’m going to throw up."

"I was originally on Orsythia for 3 years and never had any issues. My new doctor put me on this since they are both generics. My experience has been absolutely awful. I have had the worst acid reflux/indigestion and I have never had these issues before starting this birth control. It has also caused me to be nauseated 24/7 which causes me to vomit. I would not recommend this to anyone."

"took this for 1 month and experienced no major mood swings or nausea. However, immediately, I got CANKER sores (I never get these) and pimples (when my complexion is generally clear). Then I had light spotting for a few days about 1.5 weeks prior to when my period should have came - then it was followed by heavy breakthrough bleeding. Can't recommend this if you're trying to regulate your period. Will be switching to a different brand."

"I have been on Larissa for almost 3 weeks now. This is by far the worst birth control after I switched from Taytulla because my insurance did not cover it anymore. My doctor gave me Larissa and ever since I took it I have had terrible acne like never before, my back always hurts, I am ALWAYS bloated and look fat. I have the worst stomach pains, cramps and I’m very bipolar. The back pains truly are the worst as well. I do not recommend"

"I had a horrible experience. After 3 weeks of taking the pill, I developed cellulite on the arms, neck and neckline. I’m an active person. I weighted 110 pounds and gained 5 pounds in a week, plus cellulite in the neck and arms. I do not recommend it, never."

"I switched to Larissia after many years on the 28 day packs that have 23 active pills; Larissia is a 28 day pack with 21 active pills. I was previously on generic Yaz and had terrible issues with being very depressed, weepy, and emotionally dysregulated in the 2 weeks before my period. My emotions are WAY better on Larissia than they have been on other birth controls, although my eating gets a little bit more craving/bingey, so I guess that is the tradeoff."

"I’ve tried so many birth control pills before this one. Every single one before has made me extremely depressed, gain weight, and has not helped my acne. Larissia is the first pill that’s actually been so great I had to come on here and write a review! I haven’t had any negative side effects, besides some occasional nausea after I take it, but I am really enjoying this pill. The last few months of it have proven this will be the pill I’ll be sticking with long-term."

"I’ve been on Larissia for about 4 years now no acne weight gain or horrible periods. However the depression and mood swings are out of control. I can’t be happy for one day anymore. One little thing and I’m angry to balling my eyes out, sometimes it’s so bad. I have horrible thoughts for first year or so I thought it was just me but after seeing all of these reviews I'm starting to think it’s the birth control and that I should try and find a new one that won’t cause me to have this bad of depression. I don’t feel like myself at all anymore it’s tearing my relationship apart because I just get so worked up and crying and thoughts going. My boyfriend tries to calm me down but no matter what he says or does nothing cheers me up and I just want to be happy again and be back to who I used to be"

"This pill is by far the worst birth control pill and birth control experience I’ve had. It is very effective at controlling pregnancy but the side affects suck. Worst 1 yet for me, I’ve been bleeding/breakthrough bleeding and spotting for about 2 weeks now. Also mood swings and nauseous all the time, it’s has been a bad couple of weeks due to this birth control pill. It sucks because people like me have to pay to see the doctor , so in order for me to change I have to have the enough money to cover co-pay , so I have to deal with Larissia until I can afford to switch , DO NOT RECOMMEND!!"

"Larissa had too many side effects for me. While it did help ease my period and make it lighter and more regular, I developed back acne, had weird dreams EVERY night, and completely lost my appetite. The side effects of this pill were worse than the the symptoms for why I went on it."

"This is the only birth control I have been on. I started Jan 2021 so I've been on it for 9 months. I wanted to start bc to protect from pregnancy and my period was very heavy and my cramps were terrible. My doc recommend Larissia. It took about 3-4 months for my period to sync up with the active/placebo pills. My period is now so light with minimal cramps. It starts on the same day every month. I have never had a scare being on these pills. The reviews scared me; I almost didn't go through with them! Everyone has a different body please be consider that ! have not gained any weight and my acne is minimal. The only complaint I have, which this is only MY experience, is the terrible mood swings. The thing is, I have always had mood swings and I've always been dramatic and very VERY sensitive, so it isn't much of a difference. Don't let the reviews scare you! This bc has been incredible to me, I highly recommend it! :))))"

"I’ve been on this for only 4 days and I feel TERRIBLE. The side effects hit me like a truck. My breasts hurt so bad, I’m extremely dizzy, and VERY nauseous. I’ve also had really bad acid reflux today which is weird because that’s not normal at all for me. I really don't like this pill but I DO NOT want to get pregnant - it’s my only option :("

"I do not have a single side effects from this pill at all, which I am really thankful for, so I thought I would chime in and help raise its poor rating lol. I had taken both this brand and the generic version."

"Been on Larissa for about 2 years maybe? I honestly can't keep track with that. Before Larissa I had a VERY irregular period. After going on Larissa my period became regular & I personally believe it has helped me with my overall health. I've had no complications with Larissa. PSA!! Effectiveness of Larissa is definitely effected by personal usage. Remember to take your birth control around the same time every day, try to eat something around the time you take it. Definitely works perfectly for me!"

"I have been on Larissia for almost a year, and my only side effect is being a little more emotional sometimes. I have had lighter, shorter periods and much less acne. I will definitely keep using this pill."

"I started Larissia in September 2020 and discontinued use after the 4th month. I started taking it to help with horrible pain due to my copper IUD. The breakthrough bleeding lasted about 3 weeks with no pain. It had no negative effect on my facial complexion, though in my 3rd month I began breaking out a bit on my chest. Each month the week before my period my face would become so puffy and my stomach bloating has been pretty much all the time. I completely lost my sex drive. Ultimately, Larissia was SO helpful for pain but I decided the side effects were too disruptive to my life to continue use. My mood was fine. Everyone has different body, I just wanted to share my experience."

"I was on MonoNessa for years in college and it was great. My doctor switched me when I moved to Alabama because she said it was “too high in hormones” even though I liked it. I’ve been on Larissia for over a year and HATE it. It made me stop having bleeding altogether, but I still get cramps, breast tenderness, and mood swings during my “period” so what’s the point! I gained nearly 30 pounds in the year I was taking it! I’ve only been off of it for a few weeks and I am already losing weight so it is definitely the culprit. I think I will be trying non hormonal birth control."

"I’ve been taking Larissia for only a month today. So far this pill is making me extremely emotionally sensitive. I’ll literally sob over the smallest thing haha. Another thing is that I seem to have a major loss in appetite which sucks because I love food and eating. Otherwise that, I haven’t experienced any of the horrible side effects that some others get."

"I’m on the placebo week of my first pack and I’m already thinking of switching. I’m having the worst acne breakout I’ve ever experienced, I’ve had spotting the entire 3 weeks leading up to the placebo week, and the breast tenderness doesn’t go away. I’ve never experienced such a long episode of spotting and it’s highly inconvenient, to say the least. I’ve never had such a terrible experience just starting out with a birth control pill before."

"Only positive is I'm not pregnant after being on it for 2 months & my acne has cleared it. Otherwise, I've gained 10lbs (also have PCOS), have been extremely moody, have had horrible cramping (especially on my period), and my periods are either a week late or a week early with spotting in between. I'm going back to Ortho Tri Cyclen. This is the worst BC ever!"

"I’ve been on Larissia for about 6 months now. I switched over from Junel bc I was having severe emotional issues when ever I had PMS. Larissia has been so much worse then Junel. I have major depressive/anxiety problems whenever I PMS now. One of the original reasons I started on BC was bc of how bad my flow and cramps were. I regularly spot for 1-2 weeks before getting my actual period which is the heaviest it’s been since I started BC. And my cramps are still pretty severe on top of awful migraines before and during my period. Honestly one of the worst BC pills I’ve been on and planning to get it switched soon."

"Since my other birth control got discontinued, they switched this to me. I had no side effects with this at all, minor small pimples, I lost six pounds on this and my appetite isn’t as big as it once was before. I have no complaints."

"Great for controlling PMS/PMDD. However, severe hormonal acne around my mouth, on my neck and chin. Something I’ve never had! And I’m gaining weight. I’ve tried cutting calories or carbs, working out. Nothing helps, and it started when I started Larissa about 6 months ago. It’s not a considerable or noticeable amount to others, but enough for none of my pants to fit. Between a rock and a hard place because it’s great with my mood but the weight gain and acne aren’t really worth it, because I end up moody about that anyway."

"I started this pill almost 3 weeks ago after having my second child my doctor said it was great and one of her favorites to perscribe , I have never had any trouble with any of my other brands of birth control but this one has caused a 3 week long period ( bright red with no end in sight ) and bad cramps ( I am switching as soon as I can )"
