Lybrel (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on Lybrel since it came out. It is an absolute miracle pill for me. I tell everyone about it. I have had no bleeding, no cramps since I have been on it. I used to have very heavy bleeding and terrible cramps. This pill has changed my life."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Only pill I’ve ever been on. I have been taking it since November 2017. 4+ years on it and I can say I love it! My skin type went from combination to normal and it helped to clear it up significantly. In terms of my period, it kept my already regular period regular and even shortened it by a day or two. In terms of mood/anxiety… the pill stabilized my mood tenfold, I definitely have had depressive episodes the past 4 years, but I wouldn’t blame this pill for it. With my sex drive, it’s been great. For me that’s really dependent on my mental state so that’s that. For weight gain/loss — I have maintained the same weight since and I never saw big physical changes except maybe in my chest size. Find a pill that works for you! You’re doing the right thing looking up reviews and trying things out. My friends have changed multiple types and I’ve stayed on the one, every body’s different! I liked this because my body does and it’s low estrogen levels. Good luck! XO"

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I was so afraid of taking birth control again after having so many bad experiences with other ones but I am so happy I gave this one a chance. Previous pills I was on Kariva, Sprintec, Orthotricyclen- ALL made me gain weight; super moody, and always depressed. This pill works for me, honestly. I have zero side effects, no weight gain, my skin is so clear it freaks me out. The only side effect is my breasts grew from an A to a full B.. they're still growing I'm a little concerned but hey free boob job essentially! So girls if you had a bad reaction to the pills I mentioned above maybe give this one a try!"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "So I’ve been on this drug Vienva for a couple years. My pharmacy automatically switched me to this from Lutera. Pros: no weight gain, periods are regular, and I’m not pregnant. Cons: cystic acne, depression, horrible anxiety, and constipation. I’m going on a new birth control soon and crossing my fingers it won’t be worse than this one. I feel like this birth control will benefit you physically but definitely not mentally. I find it very sad how doctors do not discuss the mental impact these medications could have before prescribing them :("

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started using this pill about 2 months ago. I’ve only used birth control this time and another time about 2 years ago. The first time was fine I didn’t have any side effects whats so ever (but then again it was a different pill) so I decided to go back on the pill again. I got prescribed Vienva from the pill club. The first 2 weeks of taking it I would wake up every morning with extreme nausea, my moods swings starting getting really bad and starting affecting my relationship. I felt like I was starting to get depressed. Last night I got an overwhelming feeling of sadness out of NO WHERE and starting crying uncontrollably sobbing in the shower. I’ve NEVER done that before and that for me was the last straw. I’m not pregnant no it works I guess"

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Wow! Just when I thought I was completely alone! I have been using Norimin for 8 years and due to Covid got supplied with Levlen. I have cried and cried due to my severe bloating, which didn't occur previously! Thank god I’m not alone! Hopefully I can find something else soon because this is driving my insane!"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I’ve never left a review before so hopefully this is a sign for anyone considering taking this DON'T TAKE IT. I only took if for a couple days but that was enough. I had horrible mood swings, and felt like I had PMS only 100 times worse. I had uncontrollable sobbing fits to the point where I couldn’t breathe because I was sobbing so much. I got angry at everything and everyone. I felt foggy, unmotivated, depressed, and I would constantly stare off into space. I didn’t feel like myself. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless you want really want sob all the time for no reason at all and feel like a crazy person. Before I took this I thought there was no way it was as bad as the reviews say, but oh it really is. I would rate this a negative number if I could, find a better option for birth control because there are so many and this one sucks."

Aubra EQ (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on Aubra EQ for a little over a month now and I have no complaints. This was my first birth control, and after reading some of the bad reviews I was nervous about how this would work. But, I have had no side effects whatsoever! Even my extremely stubborn acne seems to be clearing up. For me, this birth control is great; don’t be deterred by the negative reviews and give it a try, everyone’s body is different."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I usually don't write in these forums but after reading a few post, I realized that I needed to share my experiences to help someone else. I'm on my 8th week of Seasonique. Of course I started taking it because I was attracted to the 4 periods a year. The first side effect I started experiencing was headaches, backaches and stomach cramps. It either went away or I just got used to it. Secondly, I noticed my face breaking out along the jaw line. This has been a problematic area for me before but never quite this severe. I get once a week facials and there was absolutely no explanation for this. Lastly, I've had these non-stop hysterical crying episodes. "

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I'm on Aviane for birth control - I don't have any kids, my skin is mostly clear, I haven't had any weight gain. It doesn't seem to help much with cramping but I only have my period every few months now anyway (by choice). Personally I haven't had a single negative side effect from this in the 3 years I've been taking it"

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been on this pill for about 3 months. In this time, I've gained some weight. I go to the gym 5-6 times a week and am a pretty health conscious person so there is no reason for this to happen. I've never had a problem with my skin but over the last 3 months I haven't gone a day without a pimple on my face, and my back and chest are not okay. I feel so gross. I do so much to take care of myself and after looking at my daily life, the only thing I can attribute these things to is my pill. It is also the only medication I take."

I was nervous because some friends of mine have had horror stories about birth control, but I guess I got extremely lucky because this has worked perfectly for me. Lessina (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILLS! I use to take Lutera and it was great for me but the pharmacy ran out when it was time to refill and they gave Lessina. They said it was the same active ingredient. At first I hesitated. I should've listened to my instinct. I have been having anxiety, mood swings, irritability, can’t focus, even had to take off from work and fatigue, insomnia. Its horrible! Im so mad that the pharmacy gave me Lessina."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Started this pill at the end of 2020 so it’s been about 4 months. I don’t really notice any side effects of it. Before I started it, I used to have bad depressive episodes and I still do but somehow I think it lessens once I took it. Period cramps used to be really painful for me before but now it’s pretty much nonexistent. The first month or so was me adjusting so I still felt some cramps, not anymore. My flow is also much lighter and lasts for less amount of days. It used to last 7 days, now it’s about 3-4 days. I also don’t notice weight gain or more acne breakouts that are abnormal. I’m glad it works out for me. Remember it’s different for everyone."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on Seasonique for two years now and I love it!! It took about two packs, or six months, for my body to adjust to the new period cycle, but it wasn't a problem at all. I was 16 when I started taking it, and was surprised in how quickly it worked especially with my ever changing hormones. Having a period four times a year is AMAZING, and I have absolutely no spotting in between. Plus, when I do have my period, it only lasts for four or five days, and the longer I have been on Seasonique, the lighter they have become. The only downside for me is that I get an achy back and back spasms during the time of the period, but they are not severe and end soon as my period ends. Highly recommend!"

My skin is completely flawless and I haven't experienced any side effects besides tender breast. I haven't gained any weight either. This birth control is great!"

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Aviane is pretty good! I read all the horror stories other people have had with it but went and got a prescription for it anyway. I haven't had any adverse side effects with it so far. My sex drive has not gone down, my breasts do feel a little bit fuller than before. I have no complaints."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I’ve been on this pill once, for about a year then switched & went back on it for insurance purposes. I have no idea why it has taken me so long to look into the birth control being an issue I won’t be taking it anymore. I'm usually a happy person but for the last year I’ve been miserable, nothing makes me happy even if it’s something I would usually be happy about. I'm MOODY so so moody & angry. My sex drive is non existent & I usually enjoy it. I have to hype myself up for sex & really set my self in a mood that goes & quick as it comes. My period pain has increased. I’m constantly bloated. I’ve also been nauseous & chalked it up to a weak stomach but seeing here that might not be the case. I would not recommend this birth control & the reviews have validated me. Thx"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "This pill hasn’t given me any bad side effects besides weight gain and a LOT of bloating. It made me gain 6+ pounds (probably from water retention) after the first month of taking it. I’ve generally never had a problem with losing weight, but this is the least confident in my body that I’ve ever felt. I never had issues with weight gain when I had the IUD. Will be asking my doctor to change my prescription. However, different birth control works individually and affects every body differently, so take this review with a grain of salt! Just sharing my personal experience with it."

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on levlen since I was 18 (I am now 24) and have realised how depressed and anxious this tablet has made me in the last 2-3 years ESPECIALLY the last 6 months it has gotten so much worse. I literally have NO sex drive and feel really lazy and have no energy. I have constant migraines and dizziness and I honestly think all of these things are related to this pill. I have decided to try and change my pill to a different one and see how I go and already 3 days after not being on levlen (period week) I feel amazing!"

Ashlyna (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been on Ashlyna for 2 years. You have to give it 6 months for the break through bleeding to stop and for your hormones to level out, that's with ANY birth control. I still am currently on it and enjoy it very much. I skip the placebo pills so I don't have a period"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I signed up for pill club and was prescribed Vienva. It is my first birth control so I immediately went online to look up side effects and reviews. After reading I was scared to death to get my prescription, knowing I can't change it for at least 2-3 months. Reluctantly, I did start taking it as I did read some good reviews. I'm about to start my second month in about a week. I have yet to notice any major side effects. Maybe a tad bit more emotional and faint cramps here and there, but nothing too crazy. The only weight I gained was before I even started the pack and was my own doing. I know it's still early but I think is working well for me. Although I do understand everyone is different and will react differently."

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "This pill is a miracle. I am 32 and have been on BC pills since age 16, and have tried countless brands, types, and various phasic pills. This is the only pill that doesn't make me insanely anxious, I have not had one pregnancy scare, and it is so mild I hardly know I am on anything at all. This cleared my cystic acne (caused by Falmina the generic of this brand--- do NOT switch to this, it is NOT the same, no matter what the pharmacy tells you-- filler ingredients make all the difference ladies!!) and my period only last 3 days if not less. Low hormones, low effects, awesome pill. 10/10!"

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I'm a first time user of Lutera and never took any type of birth control in my life, so far I'm on the 4th week of using it and experienced terrible migraine/headache for 2 days which made me skip a pill. I managed to get back on track but have not had any other side effects. I'm really just taking it to help my hair grow, it has grown by a couple of inches. Yes! I have fuller breasts and nice facial skin as well. I have also been able to maintain a well-shaped body with daily exercise (no hunger attacks). "
