Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Keep the Faith! My first 6 weeks was pure misery. Constantly bloated, crying, never ending period. Had it for the whole first 6 weeks. I called my Doctor after the first month, begging her to change my BC, but she asked for me to finish out the 3 months. I'm so happy I did, as SOON as the 6th week, all side affects faded away. I am no longer emotionally all over the place, sex drive has returned. No bleeding or even spotting. Yay!!! I was scared reading the reviews, so I wanted to post that it did change for me. Hope this helps !"

Levora (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Birth control will effect every woman differently. If anyone experiences any pain or unusual discomfort while using this particular birth control, please consider stop using it or at least consult with a health care provider. My 20 year old daughter developed blood clots while using Levora and on September 27, 2018, she died of a massive pulmonary embolism. She was an otherwise healthy nonsmoker whose only previous illness was strep throat when she was four. She was taken to the ER and Urgent Care in the weeks prior to her death but was misdiagnosed. Once she was diagnosed with a muscle strain and prescribe muscle relaxants and next she was diagnosed with a lung infection and prescribed antibiotics. Please use care ladies when using this product or any hormonal contraceptives. Please be safe and most importantly, please inform yourselves as much as possible."

Balcoltra (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Started Balcoltra about 4 months ago. I was so scared with all the bad reviews but my gyno put me on it so I went with it. Other than a little breakthrough bleeding, I haven't had any major side effects. I noticed the cramps during my period lasted a little longer the first couple of months, but now on month 4 I can say that my period is shorter and lighter than what it used to be. No acne, no bloating or weight gain. I'm happy with it!"

Aubra EQ (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "This is my second month on it, I was really hesitant on taking any sort of birth control but I was recommended this by a planned parenthood physician. This is my first time using any sort of birth control, I am 27 and my period have always been all over the place. With this, I am now regular and no spotting! As for side effects, the first two weeks were the WORST, but hang in there! All I had were terrible migraines! I was always irritated and it almost felt like my emotions were heightened... Other than that, I have no bloating, no weight gain— which by the way I lost about 15 pounds but I am at the gym maybe 3-5 times a week! My sex drive did not change, if anything it increased! I highly recommend this pill! Just be consistent with time and you should be fine! Best of luck ladies! ❤️"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I am going to leave an unbiased review that will be factual without any biased because it's unfair to base it off of only personal feelings which will look very scary. I was on this for two months, this may or may not cause your feelings of negativity to sky-rocket. It did escalate my depression. It did make me more cranky and moody. It will make you cramp a bit. A bit of spotting which is normal. These are the side effects I have experienced. If it sounds scary then try a different brand but other than that you can just try to make yourself stronger mentally. I personally don't think it's the end of the world taking it. As for the effectiveness, it has not gotten me pregnant. It is doing an amazing job at doing what you want it to do, which is protect you from pregnancy. (a lot of people overlook and fail to acknowledge it's effectiveness)"

It is a game-changer and I no longer have PMS mood swings and have really helped my relationship!! I love this pill"

Lessina (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been taking Lessina for like 3 or 4 months now and its been totally great and I have had no problems really. The only negative I could think of is the sliiightest weight gain but I don't mind it at all because its literally so minor. Other than that nothing has changed and I haven't had any side effects. It didn't make my period any lighter. Best of luck to you! <3 some of these comments are pretty gruesome so I thought I'd add in my positive experience!"

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Like many others I have been on Norimin for 11 years. Due to covid I had to switch to Levlen and had the worst experience. I’ve become super anxious, the worst acne outbreaks on my chest, back and face. I rarely ever had any pimples and now have extremely painful ones that don’t seem to heal. I’ve gained close to 4kg and have started to get bad tummy pains and bloating."

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I’ve been on Levlen for around 7 years and I’ve found this to work really well for me. No real weight gain (I was hungrier to begin with, but that subsided!). Slight decrease in libido, but my skin and moods have been very stable for years! I use it purely for contraceptive and only once tried another pill (I came back from a month vacation, gained weight and naturally wanted to blame it on the pill, not my eating)...after one round on another type of pill, I decided I needed to back to what worked for my body - I was back on Levlen. I came in to this pill with low expectations - I wasn’t expecting it to perform miracles. It serves its purpose, and with little to no side effects. I’ll come off it when I plan to start a family. I’m sorry to hear that it hasn’t been effective for everyone, but it’s also good to hear positive experiences on this pill as well."

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "First couple weeks I had some nausea and first couple months I had some spotting, nothing a panty-liner couldn't fix. This has been a life-changer. No more painful periods and bloody messes. It cleared up my acne. My skin hasn't looked this good in decades! I haven't gained any weight and my mood hasn't been affected. No headaches or side effects now. I love this stuff. I take it continuously so I don't get a period. I'm 43 and started this about 7 months ago. I should have been on it for the past 30 years!"

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started birth control for the 1st time a little over a month ago, and my doctor prescribed Lutera. So far, it's been a great pill for a 1st-time user. I was a little moody for the 1st week or 2 that I started taking the pill, but I'm also being treated for depression so I don't know that I can attribute my mood swings to anything in particular. My mood is definitely back to normal now, either way. The only lasting symptom I've noticed is a little tenderness/swelling in my breasts, which really doesn't bother me very much. All-in-all, I recommend Lutera for 1st-time users because I think low dose birth control is a great way to start. Also, I set my cell phone alarm to remind me to take it each day, and that really helps me remember!"

Orsythia (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been on Orsythia for one year and it's been a breeze. Zero side effects — literally zero. You will find a plethora of horrible reviews for this pill, which is actually what spurred me to write this positive one. Remember that people that are content with their pill don't always think to write a review, I didn't! I've had no acne, no weight gain, no mood swings, no pain, short and light periods, no spotting, and NO PREGNANCIES. Give it a try, everyone's bodies are different. Just because other people have had a bad experience with a medication doesn't mean it will happen to you!"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I was so scared to try this birth control but my doctor recommended it to me. I wanted to try Yaz, 'miracle pill,' because I suffer from PMDD and I thought that it would work out for me. However, she advised me to try Seasonique because you only get your period 3-4 times a year. So this is my second month, and it is working out great - no weight gain and no acne. A little spotting, but that's not a problem. I thought nothing would help me. This pill has saved my life and my marriage. I would get so crazy when it was time for my period. Love this. It worked out for me, but everybody is different. You just have to try to find the right one for you. I would read a lot of reviews and get scared, but just try a birth control for 3 months then you will know."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I just recently started this medication as my first ever use of birth control and I've had no issues so far! No nausea, no cramping, no spotting yet. No mood swings or bloating, either. I will update once I get further along but so far I feel like I haven't even taken anything! Don't get too scared by the negative reviews because I think statistically speaking, more people are likely to share their experience if it's bad than people who are happy with it."

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "This is a success story: I was so scared to start taking birth control because of all of the possible side effects. I have a history of anxiety and depression and I was afraid it would make this worse. I was pleasantly surprised! I have been taking Lutera for 3 months now and never had any negative side effects. It has actually improved my life. My hormones have leveled out, no more anxiety or depression. My breasts grew a cup size and without any tenderness or heaviness! My skin is clear and smooth. I used to have the worst cramps every month (fainting, vomiting, and staying home all day from the pain). This month I hardly felt them and now I don't have to rely on pain killers each month and I know when it will come! No pregnancy scares!"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on several pill birth control and recently after my third child I had the IUD inserted. I hated it and got it removed and was switched to Vienva. I was horrified to see all the bad comments but pleasantly surprised I am on my 4th week and feel better than ever! No more mood swings, cystic acne, painful sex, weight gain I had with the IUD. Sticking with Vienva"

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "When I first began birth control years ago, they put me on one that made me so moody, depressed, killed my libido and changed my personality, it felt. I went back to my doctor and tried several different pills and eventually I tried Alesse since it was low dose and I didn't have any negative side effects! I was always regular, but have always had bad cramps. This cut them back and made my periods short. I didn't get any unusual acne, or weight gain. If anything I lost weight. And it not only increased my libido, it made my O very strong and last longer. I don't know if anyone else has experienced this. But I just loved it! I got off it after my divorce, but I will never use any other pill again. I've tried too many and this one is for me."

Larissia (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Going on month six of the Larissia birth control and it is the best birth control I have taken. Before I started it I came here to read reviews and got very nervous based on the negative effects people were experiencing. All I can say is you have to try it for yourself because everyone’s body is different. I have experienced no crazy mood swings, no depressing thoughts, and no high anxiety. Unlike the other birth controls I have tried in the past that make me lose my sex drive and become dry, this one increased it!!! It feels like I’m not even on birth control. I’ve had no pregnancy scares (I do take it daily and don’t miss a day) and have had no problems with it. The only negative I can give this pill is that it didn’t take away my acne but definitely didn’t make my acne worse. Don’t let reviews scare you away from trying a birth control because it could work the best for your body!"

Sronyx (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My daughter has been on Sronyx for years. Started having a headache and then had a really bad seizure. She is now on her 17th day on life support. It turns out that a blood clot from her birth control went to her brain. I pray that she makes it through this horrible situation but I want everyone to realize the dangers of this pill."

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "This pill is amazing. It is what I always wanted. I have been on it for only about a month and I have already noticed rapid weight loss, my breasts have gotten bigger (b cup to c cup) my acne cleared up and I actually seem much happier. I haven't had any spotting, tenderness, or mood swings but I hear some people get those. I most definitely stick with this pill and I recommend it to anyone. It's truly AMAZING."

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Terrible! I went on Levlen for exactly 1 month and it was terrible. On day one I weighed 75.5kg, by week 4 of being on this pill, I weighed in at 82.2kg!! Sounds impossible I know! My breast doubled in size, I experienced terrible migraines, was extremely bloated, NO libido, constipated and generally felt very low and unwell! I went straight off it after my period and haven’t returned to it! I have stayed off the pill entirely and feel back to myself and well! I’ve been off it for exactly 3 weeks now and my weight has returned back to 76kg by doing absolutely nothing! Ladies listen to your body."

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Aviane is by far the best birth control I’ve tried!! I was using Tri-Cyclen and that was the worst time of my life. I was horribly depressed, moody, ovarian cysts would rupture and send me to the E.R., my acne was bad, gained 25 pounds, and my hair was falling out in giant clumps. It made me afraid to try birth control again. My doctor suggested Aviane because it’s very low dose and would better suit my body. Best decision ever. I have perfect skin, keep losing weight, NO MOOD SWINGS, plus I won’t get pregnant. It’s the best birth control out there."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on two previously prescribed birth control pills and it’s insane how terribly this Vienva birth control pioll has treated me. I honestly began to think everything was my fault when after actually researching the drug I saw that other women were having my problem. I have been spotting for six months straight and I am currently on a two week period. I can not describe the frustration and depression I am feeling right now. Intense migraines to the point where I can’t even open my eyes, depression, back pain, crazy emotions, insomnia. Oh yea and couldn’t even have a sex life due to the constant spotting. If by miracle I stopped for a week, I would get heavy spotting - light period for weeks after. This pill has taken away my happiness and confidence. I am in the process of being prescribed yet another and I hope all goes well."

Alesse-28 (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "When I started taking this pill my life went downhill. I was on it for 2 months and bled for 2 months straight. Within the first week of taking it, I was so bloated and gained so much weight to the point where I couldn’t fit into any of my pants. It caused numerous mental health issues and I thought I was going crazy. I couldn’t control my emotions and I was extremely irritable. All of these problems went away as soon as I stopped taking this pill. Do not take it or have your children on it."
