Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Worst bc I've ever taken. I thought it be nice to be able to skip my period so my doctor prescribed me this. I get breakouts bad worse then if I'm not even on bc. I also get spotting and full blown periods way before the inactive pills. I'm on 3rd pack 1st week and having my period. I ordered new bc hopefully it comes soon. I wouldn't recommend this bc at all"

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My experience with contraceptives has been a rocky one. Levlen, so far, has been the only contraceptive I've tried that did not lead to constant black discharge. I've the implanon and several times have been prescribed slightly different pills, and there was absolutely nothing I could do to regular my discharge and periods, sometimes for months at a time. After taking Levlen for two days, my discharge would return to normal. It is definitely my preferred contraceptive method :)"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Hate this birth control. Just finished the first pack. I’m on my 6th week of bleeding and now that I’m on the placebos I’m having the heaviest period I’ve had in years. I’m at my wits end. Want to rip my hair out. Can’t stand this birth control."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on Seasonique since grade 10 of high school because my periods were very irregular. For the first year and a half it worked perfectly with no side effects whatsoever. But now every third month of the pack, I spot heavily the whole time. I have brought more liners and pads then I ever would have had to. I absolutely love having my period only 4 times a year but now its like I'm having a month long period every 3 months. I am considering switching to something else because I don't know if I can keep living with it. If anyone has an explanation for why this is happening please share it with me."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Where do I start? First pack was great. No spotting until the very end of the second month, then full blown period during the middle of the third month of my first pack (three months of pills per pack, just to clarify). So, I thought I should go ahead and start my second three month pack and treat it like I'm having my period even though it technically was too early. Well, I haven't stopped bleeding for about a month now and the bleeding has gotten worse, passing huge clots and all of the lovely things that go along with that. Called my doctor and she said to stop and start taking a monophasic BC pill and that should stop the bleeding and get my uterus back to normal. Hoping this will work and won't have an eternal period!"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I am on my 3rd month of this birth control and at first glance I thought this would be wonderful. I recently switched from Nexplanon to Seasonique and I'm starting to regret that change. I have been bleeding for 17 days and it does not seem to let up. I am still experiencing menstrual cramps on top of the bleeding and I am not seeing a light at the end of the tunnel. Although I want to continue the pack, I am having second thoughts. Nexplanon isn't great, but this isn't a holy grail to your period answers either. Pick your poison ladies."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My GP recommended Seasonique because I was anemic and experiencing very heavy blood flow each month. In the year that I took this medication, I felt depressed and even suicidal at the beginning; gained weight as expected and had a hard time losing weight while on it. At the end of the first 3 months, the flow was heavy for 8 days! I kept with it in spite of menstrual cramps, higher appetite, heavy bleeding when I had my period and really annoying mood swings. After one year I decided to stop because it's easier to take iron supplements than take this pill. With 2 children and at peri-menopause age, I wouldn't recommend this product to any woman at any stage of life. Too unpredictable and not worth the unseen side effects."

Levora (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I went from being a positive, upbeat, never cry type person. I'm stopping it today because I have been having suicidal thoughts, huge bouts of rage, self harming behavior, anxiety, extreme irritability and horrible feelings of being worthless. I have NEVER felt like that before until I took this for 8 months . DO NOT TAKE THIS DRUG"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I started taking the generic of Seasonique on August 16th. It is now October 11th and I have not stopped bleeding. It's the equivalent of a moderate period. I am trying to wait it out and take it through the end of the first pack to see if the bleeding subsides, but I still have another 5 weeks and I'm not sure it's worth it."

Levora (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Honestly, I have been on Levora birth control for roughly a year. At first it was fine although I did gain a significant amount of weight no matter what I did. However, now I can’t stop bleeding between my period and I have horrible pain in my ovaries and back I have been to the ER three times in two weeks because of these symptoms and they keep telling me that all tests are normal and I’m telling you I know it’s my birth control I used it to skip my period and now I am regretting that decision immensely. Tomorrow is my last day before placebo week, and it will be my LAST day of taking levora because I am over this depression, anxiety, which are awful and this pill has increased it ten fold!! The bleeding, cramps, depression, weight gain, gas, bloating, mood swings, and migraines are not worth this pill. TBH at this point I’m young but I’d rather have a baby then go through this for any longer. I feel like rubbish almost 24/7"

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I'm 38 years old and perimenopausal. I started this pill to regulate my horrific bleeding and cramping. The first two months were AWESOME, but since that time I have been bleeding for six weeks straight. My doctor advised that I skip the sugar pills and try a couple more weeks of the second pack and see if my cycle regulates. Into the second week of the second pack and I'm still currently bleeding and cramping and am stopping this medication today. Also I gained 10 pounds, feel "blue", randomly cry for no reason and have had extreme mood swings. I would not recommend seasonique or any generic equivalent of this drug. My next step is an ablation procedure. : ("

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "Started spotting 3rd week starting seasonique generic camrese. Bleeding was very minimal spotting the first week. But I am now on my 9 th day and started passing clots. My periods before starting seasonique were at most 5-6 days long I've never in my life experience bleeding for so long. I started this bc in hopes of not having so many periods and since I was very irregular I wanted to control it. Only thing so far I've experienced is more bleeding!!! I'm getting married in 3 months what am I supposed to do if this bleeding doesn't stop?! Does anyone suggestions? Otherwise I'm thinking of just stopping altogether"

LoSeasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I'm going on my 3rd week of LoSeasonique and have been bleeding ever since I started. Just when I think it's going to stop, it's starts heavier again. I do get a little dizzy, but I'm hoping it's just my body getting used to the hormones and I'll stabilize soon. No skin problems, and I feel I'm less emotional than with another pill I had tried."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have fibroids that cause very heavy and painful periods. I was prescribed this medication after declining Depo-Lupron (the shot). Things started out fine the first few weeks, but then I started spotting (which I was told was normal) but then spotting turned into a period. I'm now on the 3rd pack, and will have to finish it at the request of my doctor, and not a day has gone by that I haven't bled. This pill did not work for me."

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I was prescribed this medication to slow down the rate of growth for my large fibriods and to reduce cramping. Here is how it has been thus far. Weeks 1-3: Very normal. no bleeding, no mood swings, no weight gain etc. Weeks 4-5: very small old blood spotting. One panty liner a day is all I needed. Weeks 6: mix of old blood and fresh blood. no cramps. Weeks 7-8: Heavy flow with very intense cramps. This is where I am currently at and I am not sure if I want to continue this medication. My cramps are more intense than when I was not on the medication. Not to mention, I've been bleeding fresh blood for three weeks straight. I want to stick it out in order to give a full analysis of this medication, but I am not sure it is worth it."

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My periods have been getting very heavy as I've been getting older (just turned 40). I was told to start the pack on The Sunday I started my period, so was on my 3rd day. Every day since then I've been bleeding various amounts, and some days have had mild cramps. Hoping by the second trial pack this stops. 1 week of heavy period is better than everyday of the month bleeding. My libido is lower, but not sure if that's the medicine or the fact I'm bleeding daily :("

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on this pill for 5 weeks. I started it the 3rd day of my period as my Dr instructed. It seemed to make my period go away! That was nice. I have consistently taken the pill every morning at approx the same time. I have not spotted at all. I have not been on any pill in at least 15 years. I'm 35 with heavy periods and cramps and taking it just for that. As my cycle is around 35 days I'm anxious to see if it shows up or if this pill is already working! I hope it's working because I've been a hormonal mess and my skin has been breaking out. Pros and cons are currently even."

Alesse (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My wife was always getting abnormal, heavy periods with pain, went to many doctors everyone had their own views, been through many types of ultrasounds, physical exams, blood tests, but no use and no one was able to diagnose problem until she was prescribed to take birth control pill 'Alesse'. Had few problems with the side effects in the beginning and after the first cycle, but its getting a lot better now except for little mode swings. She is not bleeding anymore and all those unknown cramps and whatnot are gone. I guess every contraceptive pill is not for everyone, if one does not suit you then try some other type. These reviews helps a lot, please keep sharing. "

Sronyx (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "My doctor prescribed this pill to help reduce my heavy bleeding due to fibroids. I'm on my 2 month and am very happy with the pill it has significantly reduced my period flow. I also have anxiety and have noticed this pill has helped with my mood swings. I'm more relaxed and less irritated. I don't get spotting in between period s and that's a plus."

Orsythia (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been on Orsythia for 6 months for controlling dysmenorrhea, or painful periods. Before starting birth control overall two years ago, I missed at least two days of school and work a month because my cramps, backache, nausea, and headaches prevented me from doing more than sitting in bed crying. After Orsythia, I barely get a period, it lasts four days and I rarely need to use anything more than a pantiliner. I get the occasional cramp, but nothing unmanageable. I love this pill!"

Quasense (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I've been on Quasense for 7 weeks and 5 days and as of today I have been bleeding for 7 WEEKS STRAIGHT! I started my "period" 3 days after taking my first pill and I haven't stopped bleeding since. The first 3-4 weeks were constant heavy bleeding and then it begin to taper off(actually giving me hope). Weeks 4-6 were pretty light, brown blood here and there(but still consistent daily) throughout the day and I was even more hopeful. Week 6 the bleeding began to become heavy again.....Now here it is week 7 and I'm bleeding like I would be on my normal period! I'm OVER IT! This is STUPID!"

Seasonale (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "I have been taking Seasonale for 2 months and I had to stop on month 3. The side effects were awful! I had night sweats, waking up at 4 am every morning for no reason, lots of spotting, huge appetite with weight gain and severe depression and anxiety. The depression and anxiety was the worst! I do suffer from depression and anxiety but it's not as bad as this medication made it! I stopped taking it and about 4 days later I felt so much better. Now I'm having a cycle and its been over a week now and hoping it will end sometime soon."

Levora (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "So I've wanted to be on BC pills for the longest just for menstrual cramps. My pcp said this would be great. I've been constantly sad, and extremely tired. No matter how much sleep I get it's never enough. I always have itching in my private area and it never seems to go away to the point where it breaks open and seeps blood. Also the non stop spotting is crazy to deal with. I've been spotting for literally a month. I know spotting is definitely expected but I didn't expect it to be this bad. I definitely want to be off of this pill and it's only been a month literally ! I rather take a Motrin 800 mg pill to deal with my cramps than to deal with this mess. It's so NOT worth it."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) "A new doctor switched me to this one from Beyaz. I had gotten migraines once every six months or so before I started birth control and on Yaz and Beyaz I had never had any real issues I was able to function with over the counter medicines for them. I just finished month number 3 today, during the first month I had 2 migraines with one that lasted two days and I had to go to the health center because I couldn't stand it any longer & got a shot for it. After that I went to my family doctor and was given migraine medication. I have had 8 migraines in the span of three months & have had to medicate with migraine medication instead of Motrin or Excedrine, add in extremely heavy period, cramps, and nausea and you can see why I'm switching back."
