For Birth Control "Aviane is the BEST birth control pill I've tried, don't let the bad reviews scare you! I've been on so many: Microgestin, Azurette, Apri, Trinessa, and Tri-lo-sprintec to name a few. I've had side effects with all of those. I had things like breakouts, bloating, insomnia, constipation, mood changes, breakthrough bleeding, so I was nervous to start this. I have not had a single side effect on Aviane! I was worried about maybe having breakouts since I have sensitive skin and was previously on Accutane, but my skin has been smooth and clearer than ever since starting! No bleeding, bloating, or mood changes. I wish I had started it sooner. And my doctor said it's a great low-dose pill. If you have tried them all and lost hope of finding a good pill, try this one, trust me!!!"

For Birth Control "I've been on this birth control for 3 months and have not gained a single pound. I've actually lost weight, which was surprising. I have not had any side effects other than mood swings for the first week I went on it and spotting the week before I got my period. I don't use condoms with this birth control and have sex every other day and still haven't gotten pregnant. I really can't say enough positive things about this birth control."

For Birth Control "I've been taking aviane for about a year. Cleared up my acne within a month or two; I don't get any cystic acne anymore. It's a relief. I don't get any side effects and it definitely evens out my mood."

For Birth Control "This birth control was awesome. It's very hard for me to go on birth control because I am sensitive to hormones but this one was perfect. Only side effect I had was sore breast but it wasn't that serious for me. I'm on Lessina now so I no longer take it (they are related). It's perfect too but I don't have sore breast on it."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill going on six years now, and I cannot recommend it enough. My once debilitating menstrual cramps are much lighter, and my period has shortened by three days. The pill is so consistent, I can monitor my cycle down to the hour my bleeding will begin. I have had no negative side effects at all. My acne has been reduced, but has not completely disappeared. The pill is effective at preventing pregnancy. Great birth control option that I have my own control over."

For Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for 3 months. During the first month, things were okay. During the last two months, my breasts are constantly super sore and I have (mild but annoying) cramping every day. My breasts have also definitely gotten bigger which is okay but I'm not sure the pain is worth it. Also, before my last period I turned into an emotional monster and I'm usually pretty even keeled. I know it can take a few months to even out but I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to give it."

For Birth Control "I tried Alesse in the past and liked it but it made me feel extremely tired. I decided to try the generic Aviane so see if I felt different. I'm only on day 11 but I don't feel mentally well, I starting to feel irritated and depressed, im finishing the pack and will stop taking this pill. Our emotional health is much more important."

For Ovarian Cysts "This is my first time on birth control and I've heard so many stories about how Aviane gets you all irritated and nauseous, but so far in the one week I've been using it I feel perfectly normal. I'm not sure if that is because I just started, only time will tell. I'm not having any cramping in my ovaries because of my cysts so far. 10 out of 10 for me!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been using Aviane for 3 months, and I decided to change the brand. I don’t have any severe side effect, but I noticed I lost my sex drive and didn’t get wet enough since taking this pill. I don’t have any depressed feeling or anxiety, but the problem of sex drive is a big issue for me."

For Birth Control "At 35, I have tried many bc pills out there. I post reviews, good or bad to let people know of possible benefits or side effects. Low dose levonorgestrel has been the best pill for me. Always the least side effects. Inactive ingredients played a part in how each brand affected me as far as spotting or not. I was switched back to this type of pill after 3 weeks straight bleeding on a minipill that only got heavier. This pill slowed a lot of the bleeding, but still have some light spotting. The nurse said once I have that 7 day withdrawal bleed, I shouldn't spot any longer on active pills next month. She most likely is right because any pill I have ever used that has less than 7 placebos or is designed to eventually stop my period, my body retaliates and I get breakthrough bleeding until I switch over to a brand with 7 placebos. Hope this helps any of you ladies having bc pill issues."

For Birth Control "Aviane is an amazing birth control! I have been on this for 5 years, and although it is the first one I’ve tried, it works wonderfully! No acne issues, weight gain, mood changes, and I am not pregnant. I strongly recommend it."

For Birth Control "I have been taking the Aviane pill for about three months now and it’s honestly been great! My boobs definitely grew two cup sizes and my acne flared up at first, but everything balanced back out after the second month. I highly recommend this contraceptive !"

For Birth Control "I have taken a few different birth controls and had a lot of problems with them (Apri-painful sharp pains during intercourse, cramps). I love Aviane. I do not have cramps ever, period lasts 3-4 days (not heavy), always comes the same day, pain has stopped, no weight gain, no cravings, no mood swings, nothing. I've taken it for over a year. My sex drive has decreased a little but I don't know if it's because of this pill as I don't really recall when my sex drive lessened."

For Birth Control "I was on the Depo Provera shot for 3 years, never getting a period. I decided to switch to pills and got prescribed Aviane. I just started my fourth week, and I have been crazy. Crying almost every day, being a monster girlfriend. Vaginal itching and pain with sex. As soon as I started the fourth week I became very stomach sick, throwing up and diarrhea. Not sure if I should stick it out or go back to the doctors."

For Birth Control "I've been using Aviane for about 3.5 years now. I did notice some major mood swings getting on or off the pill, but after about a month I think my hormones regulated back to normal. Other than that I haven't had any other side effects unless you consider an almost non-existent period a side effect. I still get paranoid when I miss a period but so far so good. This has worked for me."

For Endometriosis "My endometriosis was diagnosed 2 years ago. 1 year ago, I started experiencing pain during my ovulation too. My doctor recommended Aviane because has few side effects. The first weeks I experienced mild headaches and nausea but the symptoms didn't bother me. I'm regular but I didn't have my period during the 1st month of taking the pill. My doctor's recommendation, I would only take hormones and not the placebo pills at all over for 3 months. After a few weeks, my period came, more days than usual with a lot of pain. It wasn't abundant but it wasn't spotting either. The pain during ovulation was not reduced, the headaches are the worst and the breast pain is bad. I have mood swings, not depressing (anger episodes) and I had a vaginal worst infection ever, something very strange for me. With this coronavirus around, I was unable to see my doctor. I decided to stop taking the pills, in my case the pain is worse than before. Maybe, pills needs more time to adjust, but not thanks."

For Birth Control "I personally was on Aviane for about 8 months. The first 3 months were pretty much flawless. I had a problem with my appetite to begin with, gained some weight and dropped it shortly in the next coming months. Didn't experience any acne or stomach nausea. After three months my period got progressively worse. I had intense cramps and felt down right miserable. My entire body ached. Aside from feeling awful I was miserable to be around. I had mood swings I've never had before. Aviane was driving me crazy on my periods. I felt like a different person. My friends, family and boyfriend could even tell I wasn't myself. Just wanted to put this out there if someone was curious there are other options."

For Birth Control "Although I only started this medication recently, I wanted to share my experience. I finally made the decision to start the pill because my last period was over two weeks late. After ruling out pregnancy, I discovered that I have a genetic history of ovarian cysts, which are lessened in frequency by birth control. I have also suffered from moderately severe periods, with cramps that made it impossible to go to work or school. I have just completed my first week of Aviane. I have had no nausea and perhaps a slight change in appetite where I eat a little more. What surprised me is that my breasts have grown about a third of a cup size. (This is a pleasant surprise for me, as I am a medium B-cup)."

For Birth Control "I really want to switch pills, I was on another pill and I had pleasant results. My pharmacy prescribed me this one because they didn't have the other in stock. It has been awful. My period lasts 3-4 days with no cramping usually. But on Aviane it has lasted 7 days and it's super heavy with cramps. I've been irritable and yelling even about the smallest things. I cry over every little thing that happens to me."

For Birth Control "I’ve been on Aviane for about 3 years now. I haven’t had any major problems or side effects. I do have a significantly lower sex drive now however. I have PCOS and Aviane really helps me keep all my symptoms of PCOS in check. I now have my period every month exactly on time. Like I said I’ve never really had any trouble with it besides changing the consistency of my blood. During my periods I have a lot more clots then I use to have off the pill. I did read the side effects and this is noted in there and I’ve asked several doctors so it’s not too alarming to me. Other than that the past two months were kind of hard. I had two periods in one month. I do attribute this to taking a supplement called Maca however because after I experience these multiple periods I stopped taking Maca and haven’t had any problems since. So if anything take your pill and stay away from Maca it can disrupt your cycles."

For Birth Control "I gave this birth control a chance after coming off of a non hormonal birth control that didn't control my periods. There was absolutely nothing good about this pill. I gave it seven months. My acne has permanently disfigured my jaw line, large patches of cysts, new ones daily. They are inflamed and painful. Nothing helps, more kept coming. My period never came on time, and would still be 9 days, controllable but still too much for being on BC. My moods were out of control. Constant suicidal thoughts. I've never dealt with such bad constant intrusive thoughts in my life. They need to take this pill off the market. It is literally dangerous. Three days off, my emotions are controlled, and I haven't had a cystic acne in 3 days!"

For Birth Control "I have been on Alesse/Aviane for 10 years. It was the first and only birth control pill I have ever used and chose it over others on purpose. I chose it because it is one of the lowest-dose oral contraceptives on the market, and the progesterone they use (levonorgestrel) is very close to the molecular makeup of natural progesterone. The only symptoms I experienced during the first month was breast tenderness and clearer skin (I used to have adolescent acne). I know some individuals have experienced more severe symptoms than I have described. I think it boils down to your own body's hormonal balance."

For Birth Control "So I started this BC Aviane because my wedding is coming up (I have never used BC before) and I have been on it for 2 whole packs. The first pack was fine, I felt normal.. Had some nausea the first couple days, but that faded away. HOWEVER, my period was much more painful than normal.. Things changed with the second pack. I had weird acid reflex that would be triggered by everything, then that turned into diarrhea for a couple days and then I started getting spots on my skin and having digestion problems and went to my doctor and she said it was Candida (Yeast overgrowth).. I woke up with panic attacks, passed out one time, had nausea all day for a couple days until I finally stopped taking the pill.. I am very sad this didn't work for me. I am already sensitive to medication, so I am not surprised. This pill could work for you, so don't jot it down before trying it. But if you have any similar symptoms, listen to your body and try something else."

For Birth Control "After getting off of Ortho-tricylen Lo I switched over to several other generic brands of which my gyno recommended.. all of which had crazy side effects (break through spotting/bleeding, acne, rashes on my face, crazy mood swings). Aviane is the first one that I've had no problems with so far... clear skin, no mood swings. Only minor issue is the small weight gain due to my increase in appetite.. other than that no complaints whatsoever!"
