Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I have been on Aviane for two months now. I'll be starting my third month in about a week. I have noticed a huge difference in my appetite. I've usually only eaten a snack after school and dinner but lately I seem to always have food in my mouth and I eat huge amounts. My stomach is constantly bloated. My mood recently started to change, I always feel down and in a "I hate everything" mood. I am normally a very happy non stop laughing person but now its an effort to smile. I've also experienced extreme fatigue, I have no energy for anything and all I ever seem to do is cry. I hope none of you are experiencing this."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Okay so let me say I was TERRIFIED of starting my birth control after reading these reviews. HOWEVER I’ve been on Vienva for about a month now and I have had very few side affects. I know it is still early in the adjustment process but I haven’t noticed any weight gain, my skin has actually started to clear slightly, and it hasn’t made me nauseous. I will say that I’ve been a bit bloated and my boobs are a little tender (and slightly bigger which is a win in my book) but nothing to bad. I promise you people are more likely to leave reviews when things are bad so I wanted to make sure and say how happy I’ve been thus far with this bc."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "First and last time using this drug. I just started my 3rd pack and have been bleeding non stop since week 2. It has made me emotional, sluggish, bloated, abdominal cramps, acne and bad gas with multiple poops a day. I’ve never felt this bad before ever. Stopping the pill today and hoping to get my life back. DO NOT take unless you like to be miserable and in constant pain."

Amethyst (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Just like every birth control (BC) pill, this one is not right for everyone. My experience has been mostly positive and that's lucky for me. I have taken BC since I was 19 in various forms. I have not noticed changes in my physical shape over the years since it has been a part of my life for a long time. I switched from a monthly BC period to amethyst because not having a period would fit my lifestyle. Oddly, I had no spotting until 5 months in. I have occasionally had almost a very light period at times the first year, mostly during times of high stress. Now in my second year, I very rarely have spotting. I'm very happy and will continue with amethyst. The secret is to really stick to one time a day, especially with the lower hormone dose. Water is recommended, maybe even some food. The other secret is that this BC is just not right for every body and finding the right fit takes trial and error. I am lucky that I found something good for me."

Lybrel (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I have been on Lybrel since it came out. It is an absolute miracle pill for me. I tell everyone about it. I have had no bleeding, no cramps since I have been on it. I used to have very heavy bleeding and terrible cramps. This pill has changed my life."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Only pill I’ve ever been on. I have been taking it since November 2017. 4+ years on it and I can say I love it! My skin type went from combination to normal and it helped to clear it up significantly. In terms of my period, it kept my already regular period regular and even shortened it by a day or two. In terms of mood/anxiety… the pill stabilized my mood tenfold, I definitely have had depressive episodes the past 4 years, but I wouldn’t blame this pill for it. With my sex drive, it’s been great. For me that’s really dependent on my mental state so that’s that. For weight gain/loss — I have maintained the same weight since and I never saw big physical changes except maybe in my chest size. Find a pill that works for you! You’re doing the right thing looking up reviews and trying things out. My friends have changed multiple types and I’ve stayed on the one, every body’s different! I liked this because my body does and it’s low estrogen levels. Good luck! XO"

Aviane (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I was so afraid of taking birth control again after having so many bad experiences with other ones but I am so happy I gave this one a chance. Previous pills I was on Kariva, Sprintec, Orthotricyclen- ALL made me gain weight; super moody, and always depressed. This pill works for me, honestly. I have zero side effects, no weight gain, my skin is so clear it freaks me out. The only side effect is my breasts grew from an A to a full B.. they're still growing I'm a little concerned but hey free boob job essentially! So girls if you had a bad reaction to the pills I mentioned above maybe give this one a try!"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "So I’ve been on this drug Vienva for a couple years. My pharmacy automatically switched me to this from Lutera. Pros: no weight gain, periods are regular, and I’m not pregnant. Cons: cystic acne, depression, horrible anxiety, and constipation. I’m going on a new birth control soon and crossing my fingers it won’t be worse than this one. I feel like this birth control will benefit you physically but definitely not mentally. I find it very sad how doctors do not discuss the mental impact these medications could have before prescribing them :("

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I started using this pill about 2 months ago. I’ve only used birth control this time and another time about 2 years ago. The first time was fine I didn’t have any side effects whats so ever (but then again it was a different pill) so I decided to go back on the pill again. I got prescribed Vienva from the pill club. The first 2 weeks of taking it I would wake up every morning with extreme nausea, my moods swings starting getting really bad and starting affecting my relationship. I felt like I was starting to get depressed. Last night I got an overwhelming feeling of sadness out of NO WHERE and starting crying uncontrollably sobbing in the shower. I’ve NEVER done that before and that for me was the last straw. I’m not pregnant no it works I guess"

Lutera (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about 3 months. In this time, I've gained some weight. I go to the gym 5-6 times a week and am a pretty health conscious person so there is no reason for this to happen. I've never had a problem with my skin but over the last 3 months I haven't gone a day without a pimple on my face, and my back and chest are not okay. I feel so gross. I do so much to take care of myself and after looking at my daily life, the only thing I can attribute these things to is my pill. It is also the only medication I take."

Aubra EQ (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I have been on Aubra EQ for a little over a month now and I have no complaints. This was my first birth control, and after reading some of the bad reviews I was nervous about how this would work. But, I have had no side effects whatsoever! Even my extremely stubborn acne seems to be clearing up. For me, this birth control is great; don’t be deterred by the negative reviews and give it a try, everyone’s body is different."

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Wow! Just when I thought I was completely alone! I have been using Norimin for 8 years and due to Covid got supplied with Levlen. I have cried and cried due to my severe bloating, which didn't occur previously! Thank god I’m not alone! Hopefully I can find something else soon because this is driving my insane!"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I’ve never left a review before so hopefully this is a sign for anyone considering taking this DON'T TAKE IT. I only took if for a couple days but that was enough. I had horrible mood swings, and felt like I had PMS only 100 times worse. I had uncontrollable sobbing fits to the point where I couldn’t breathe because I was sobbing so much. I got angry at everything and everyone. I felt foggy, unmotivated, depressed, and I would constantly stare off into space. I didn’t feel like myself. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless you want really want sob all the time for no reason at all and feel like a crazy person. Before I took this I thought there was no way it was as bad as the reviews say, but oh it really is. I would rate this a negative number if I could, find a better option for birth control because there are so many and this one sucks."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I usually don't write in these forums but after reading a few post, I realized that I needed to share my experiences to help someone else. I'm on my 8th week of Seasonique. Of course I started taking it because I was attracted to the 4 periods a year. The first side effect I started experiencing was headaches, backaches and stomach cramps. It either went away or I just got used to it. Secondly, I noticed my face breaking out along the jaw line. This has been a problematic area for me before but never quite this severe. I get once a week facials and there was absolutely no explanation for this. Lastly, I've had these non-stop hysterical crying episodes. "

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I have been on birth control for 9 years for heavy/too frequent periods. For the first 6 years, Seasonique was amazing. However, especially within the past two years, I have had excessive spotting. For awhile, I was on the generic and just thought there was a difference between that and the name brand. Initially I had no problems, but I started a doctorate program and am sure the stress has a lot to do with it, but my spotting has started again. It'll happen any time I stress out or after having sex. I like not having my period for 3 months but now, im on my period more than a normal bc. Except it's worse. It comes unannounced and has ruined a number of undergarments."

It doesn't seem to help much with cramping but I only have my period every few months now anyway (by choice). Personally I haven't had a single negative side effect from this in the 3 years I've been taking it"

I was nervous because some friends of mine have had horror stories about birth control, but I guess I got extremely lucky because this has worked perfectly for me. No terrible mood swings, my periods have been regular, my skin is clear, normal blood pressure, no crazy weight gain, and I have not gotten pregnant, yes! (I have been taking this pill for around 9 months now.)"

Lessina (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILLS! I use to take Lutera and it was great for me but the pharmacy ran out when it was time to refill and they gave Lessina. They said it was the same active ingredient. At first I hesitated. I should've listened to my instinct. I have been having anxiety, mood swings, irritability, can’t focus, even had to take off from work and fatigue, insomnia. Its horrible! Im so mad that the pharmacy gave me Lessina."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "Started this pill at the end of 2020 so it’s been about 4 months. I don’t really notice any side effects of it. Before I started it, I used to have bad depressive episodes and I still do but somehow I think it lessens once I took it. Period cramps used to be really painful for me before but now it’s pretty much nonexistent. The first month or so was me adjusting so I still felt some cramps, not anymore. My flow is also much lighter and lasts for less amount of days. It used to last 7 days, now it’s about 3-4 days. I also don’t notice weight gain or more acne breakouts that are abnormal. I’m glad it works out for me. Remember it’s different for everyone."

Seasonique (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I have been on Seasonique for two years now and I love it!! It took about two packs, or six months, for my body to adjust to the new period cycle, but it wasn't a problem at all. I was 16 when I started taking it, and was surprised in how quickly it worked especially with my ever changing hormones. Having a period four times a year is AMAZING, and I have absolutely no spotting in between. Plus, when I do have my period, it only lasts for four or five days, and the longer I have been on Seasonique, the lighter they have become. The only downside for me is that I get an achy back and back spasms during the time of the period, but they are not severe and end soon as my period ends. Highly recommend!"

Levlen (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Abnormal Uterine Bleeding "I had painful periods my whole life and for about 11 years, I went from doctor to doctor trying different pain medications , herbal medicines and undertaking multiple ultrasounds in the hopes of detecting endometriosis. Finally, one good doctor suggested going on birth control before doing my endo surgery. I was extremely hesitant at first and scared but I gave it a go and do not regret it since. With LEVLEN ED, I have had no acne, no weight gain, no painful periods, no problems what so ever. It felt almost like a magical potion I had taken. I was hesitant to initially take it as I read some bad reviews online but this was my wonder drug and I had to review it."

I haven't had any adverse side effects with it so far. My sex drive has not gone down, my breasts do feel a little bit fuller than before. I have no complaints."

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill once, for about a year then switched & went back on it for insurance purposes. I have no idea why it has taken me so long to look into the birth control being an issue I won’t be taking it anymore. I'm usually a happy person but for the last year I’ve been miserable, nothing makes me happy even if it’s something I would usually be happy about. I'm MOODY so so moody & angry. My sex drive is non existent & I usually enjoy it. I have to hype myself up for sex & really set my self in a mood that goes & quick as it comes. My period pain has increased. I’m constantly bloated. I’ve also been nauseous & chalked it up to a weak stomach but seeing here that might not be the case. I would not recommend this birth control & the reviews have validated me. Thx"

Vienva (ethinyl estradiol / levonorgestrel) for Birth Control "This pill hasn’t given me any bad side effects besides weight gain and a LOT of bloating. It made me gain 6+ pounds (probably from water retention) after the first month of taking it. I’ve generally never had a problem with losing weight, but this is the least confident in my body that I’ve ever felt. I never had issues with weight gain when I had the IUD. Will be asking my doctor to change my prescription. However, different birth control works individually and affects every body differently, so take this review with a grain of salt! Just sharing my personal experience with it."
