"I was prescribed Dupixent for my eczema, and 2 weeks after I was given my first dosage, I began to really smell and taste, and the Dupixent was the only thing different in my routine! I had not really researched it that much, but when I Googled Dupixent, I realized this medicine will take care of 2 of my problems! I haven’t been able to smell in years! I just hope my insurance covers this medicine!"

"In 2014, I developed a chronic condition called AERD (formerly Samter's Triad), which involves nasal polyps, asthma, and sensitivity to NSAIDs and high eosinophils. I lost my sense of smell early and never recovered it, even after 4 FESS surgeries. My asthma was well-controlled after aspirin desensitization, dietary changes, and daily AERD meds, but having no sense of smell and chronic polyp-related sinus issues was a significant quality of life issue. In the spring of 2023, I started Dupixent 300mg injections twice monthly, on top of my AERD meds. I regained my sense of smell after about 3 weeks and have had no significant side effects. Self-injections can sting a bit, but that is a small price to pay for the quality of life benefits. Dupixent is an IL-4 and IL-13 inhibitor, and those appear to have been driving chronic nasal polyp growth. I plan on returning to my ENT for a scope just to confirm if my polyps have shrunk or disappeared. So far, so good!"

"I have been having the injections every 2 weeks for over a year. It has massively improved my health in so many ways: breathing, sleeping, less wheezing, and coughing in the morning. Minimal phlegm down the back of the throat. I have had 2 operations to remove polyps and nose remodeling. Now, there are no polyps in the nose. I have zero taste or smell, hopefully, it will return with continued use of the medication. I live in France."

"4 nasal surgeries to remove polyps. Most of 2021, I was unable to smell or taste. The only time things cleared up was with prednisone, the last two prednisone courses did not allow me to regain smell or taste. After my very first shot, I was starting to smell things later that night. The next morning, I was able to smell and taste once again and haven’t lost it yet, even when battling a cold. (8 weeks) The shot does hurt, make sure it’s at room temp and that helps. I don’t mind shots, but I’m still not comfortable doing it myself due to how much it hurts. My eyes are fine, but I noticed gunk in my eyes when waking up in the AM, no big deal. No vision problems. The only real negative thing is around 3 days prior to the shot, my back and joints are stiff. No pain, but sore. After the shot, no problems. I’m still on allergy and asthma meds. No asthma problems, allergies, no change."

"I took Dupixent for about 6 months, once every 2 weeks, at 300 mg per shot. It reduced my nasal polyps and helped me avoid another sinus surgery. It also helped with my asthma. However, after about 6 months off the meds, my asthma has returned, and I feel like my polyps are growing back, though I haven't had them checked out yet. I figure I'll do another 6 months on the meds again within a year or so from now to manage my polyps. Side effects were site injection pain/sensitivity and a little swelling. It was enough of a bother to encourage me to stop taking it once it had the desired effect, and I wish there were a better way to administer it."

"I used Dupixent for my nasal polyps. I took my first shot, no problems. Right after my 2nd shot in 1 month, I got herpes. I called my doctor, but they said if you had it before, it will come back! But the doctors don't tell you nothing!! I finished my 4th shot, it's 2 months, and I now have an extreme bad body odor I never had my entire life ever. I played every sport: football, basketball, martial arts, and never smelled this in my life!! I would do 11-mile runs and was in the USMC boot camp also and never smelled this. I have a nasty crotch and on my body, it's gross!! I spent $300 on soaps, creams, powders, nothing works!! Not even medicated cream from my doctor works or cologne! I bathe 3 times daily. I come out of the shower, and 1 hour later, sitting watching TV, there's that smell again!! I read on other websites, 2 other people said their friends told them they have bad body odor!!! It's now 4 months since I stopped Dupixent, and this smell does not go away. I must now go see a urologist!"

"I have been taking Dupixent for about 1 and a half months. It does work for me. I recovered the smell in just a week, and I'm breathing better. But I have experienced one of the side effects that I saw on a list outside of Dupixent's website, which is 'ear congestion.' Three days after the injection, it lasts about 8 days, and on the second dose, the same thing happened. Four days ago, I had the injection, and I already started experiencing a buzzing noise in my ear for the second time. So, I believe it is the ear congestion side effect."

"Dupixent did help shrink my sinus polyps and get my smell back. But after about 6 months, I decided to try coming off of it. The polyps have not returned, but I constantly have bleeding in my sinuses and nasal dripping. My suggestion would be to take the medicine for sinus polyps, but discontinue the drug as soon as you can, for instance, as soon as the polyps are gone."

"Dupixent 300mg - Helped keep polyps at bay & reduced asthma attacks but it did and still is making me gain a lot of weight. The 4 things I have with side effects: 1. Weight gain. I'm the heaviest I've ever been but I must overlook this because of the other good it does for me. 2. Joint pain 3. Some blurry vision 4. Rash all over body. I had no skin issues before taking Dupixent, ironically. Overall I am still using the medication because it has drastically improved my nasal polyps and asthma."

"Only take this 'drug' if you are absolutely desperate and have no other option. It is awful because of its very, very strong side effects, which will affect the entire body in one way or another; strangely for the lungs and the nose, the drug will make you symptomatic for the same reasons that you are taking it. That is, you will have lung and nose side effects. It is true that all drugs have side effects, but this drug needs another 5 years to be tweaked and worked on to eliminate the bad stuff. They rushed it to market. It is an incredibly painful injection. There must be a better way..."

"I have a condition called Samter's Triad (aka Aspirin-exacerbated respiratory disease / AERD), which results in upper and lower respiratory dysfunction, including asthma and debilitating nasal polyposis. My polyps were so bad that multiple FESS surgeries couldn't reach all the polyps, and I lost my sense of smell and taste. I was poorly controlled on standard asthma medications and required a litany of approaches just to treat the symptoms. Facing my fourth FESS surgery in 8 years, I opted to try Dupixent instead, and in 2023, I was approved for Dupixent 300mg. To say it was life-changing is an understatement. I'd call it a miracle drug for my condition. The IL-4/IL-13 blockers worked almost immediately - within three weeks, my sense of smell and taste were restored (after 6 years of having none). My sinuses improved month after month, and my asthma symptoms disappeared. After 12 months, I met with my ENT who scoped me and confirmed my polyps had almost completely disappeared."

"Game changer for me. Rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps, which was awful for five years, but went in 3 days after starting the treatment. So far, no return of nasal polyps, which were surgically removed a few years ago. Ironically, dupilumab was actually given to me to treat my asthma, which has also virtually disappeared. I’ve had no steroids to treat my asthma since starting dupilumab, which I used to need every couple of months. I’ve also not needed to use my blue inhaler, although I do still use the preventative inhaler, Seritide 500. Dupilumab is just brilliant for me. Flying without ear pain. No constantly dripping nose. No steroids “every 5 minutes,” no sucking constantly on the blue inhaler. A game changer indeed."

"I just started Dupixent. Did my third injection two days ago. I have to say, the research I did had me fearing injecting this drug, but for me-no injection pain at all. No welts on my injection site. No tenderness after injection. Maybe my skin is simply less tender? Polyps have cleared quickly, and I am regaining my SOS after not having it for most of the last twenty years since after 9/11. So far, a miracle drug. Not yet noticing any negative side effects, but will keep you posted. I say worth a try!"

"I have done this med for 2 months, and it did work well for me, with no side effects. But, unless your income has to be below 35,000 a year to get any help with out of pocket. With Medicare and supplemental insurance, my cost would be 13,000 per year."

"I'm a 75-year-old male taking Dupixent for 4 weeks. Almost immediately, I could breathe freely through both nostrils. Super grateful for that. I feel superior to things like grasses, dust, etc. I inject the 300 mg dose in a thigh biweekly. The last two times, it stung fiercely at the injection site for a few seconds. Not a deal breaker. Side effects such as eye sensations in, on, or behind the eye. It's hard to say what the feeling is there. The last two days, I notice sharp throbbing head pain when I stand up, so I try to take a little more time to stand up, and that helps. And last night, the headache was so bad I doubt I slept. In these four weeks, I've had at least two strong headaches, and those haven't been an issue for years. The pain is in the right temple area. There is way too much flaky skin along both sides of the nose, which I find interesting in that one use of Dupixent is for some kind of skin issue."

"Pro: I was unable to smell for over 7 years. After 3 months with Dupixent, I got back about 80% of my sense of smell. Asthma also improved. Con: tingling in fingers. Extremely expensive, so I had to stop taking it after a year."

"Dupixent has been a life changer for me! I had large nasal polyps for years, which became much worse after moving to Arizona and were completely blocking my nose. I had to breathe through my mouth 24/7. Dry mouth. I lost my sense of smell and taste completely for years and had to give up my career as a natural chef. You can’t cook accurately without those senses. In addition, I was diagnosed with allergic asthma, a new diagnosis at age 60. I also struggled with eosinophilic esophagitis and had trouble swallowing food often. I had constant sinus infections and pressure pain in my face. All these issues literally disappeared a week after the first Dupixent injection. It was a miracle for me to be able to breathe, smell, taste, and, most of all, sleep at night again. I didn’t feel like I had a massive cold all the time. Saving $ on tissues now!"

"I have been using Dupixent to control my nasal polyps for the last few years. After 4 surgeries and plenty of prednisone, Dupixent finally allowed me to breathe, smell, hear, and taste again after nearly 15 years. Side effects include joint pain and tingling feet. A small price to pay for getting my quality of life back."

"This medication has been life-changing. I've had severe asthma as well as nasal polyps for almost two decades. I've struggled to breathe and had two sinus surgeries to remove polyps, but they grew right back. I had no sense of smell for many years. Seven days after starting Dupixent, I had noticeably clearer sinuses, and after a few months of treatment, I can easily breathe and have a sense of smell and taste. I am no longer struggling with asthma daily or struggling to breathe through my sinuses. Dupixent gave my quality of life back!"
