Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "Actually one of the only contraceptive pills me and my body have gotten along with, did help to clear up my skin (although I believe spots were caused from a previous pill) however had to stop taking after having 2nd dose of AstraZeneca vaccine as I had resting heart rate of over 100bmp constantly and heart palpitations. This pill on average can make women 3x more likely to have blood clots and I don't think enough research has been done into the side effects of that mixed with Covid vaccines."

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "Yaz has been a complete lifesaver. I used to suffer with heavy bleeding and cramps that had me bedridden. I've been on Yaz since 16 and I don't regret it at all. I have absolutely no side effects and there is no complications with my health either. If you're a first timer - Yaz is the way to go."

Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "The Yasmin pill has KILLED people and it known to give blood clots. I wish I never put this in my body. It completely changed who I was as person. I am starting to get myself back to normal again. The only thing it did for me was give me really clear skin. Now that I have stopped taking it I have started to break out but I will take pimples over putting this pill back into my body. Please be careful with Yasmin. I’m warning you from one female to another... do your research and look out for yourself. It mucked up my life."

Loryna (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I have been on this pill for about 4 years and I love it. Have not gained any weight, my skin is super clear and my periods aren’t terrible anymore (I have menorrhagia, so I bleed excessively to the point I’ve fainted)."

Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I have been taking Yaz for 4 years. I haven't gained any weight and no acne. BUT my sex drive has been completely gone. I just got my blood drawn and my estrogen level is the lowest of the low..my doctor said it's from YAZ. Also, (I just noticed this now) but I have lost sooo much hair since taking this pill."

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I was nervous starting Yaz for my Endometriosis because of reviews I had read and my bad experiences with birth control when I was a teenager. During the first couple weeks, I was very emotional- cried every day. After that, my emotions were more regular. I had very little appetite, I lost over 10 pounds in a month. My skin didn't change much. I would have stayed on Yaz because I didn't have any of the pain or symptoms that usually come with my period, but I started spotting about a month in and I have been bleeding ever since. I start Yasmin this week and I am very nervous for the transition."

Nikki (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I just started Nikki a month ago. For the first week I had terrible nausea and headaches. However, now my skin is so so clear. For the past 2 years I have been struggling with terrible bloating to the point where I look pregnant. Nikki helped me feel less bloated and I have lost 10 pounds in one month!! I am 120 lbs now so losing 10 lbs was a big deal for me!! I am so happy and thankful for this pill. It really HAS transformed my life. Best of all, my copay is 0!"

Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "YASMIN RUINED MY RELATIONSHIP! When I first started the pill I LOVED it, my skin eventually got improved and my skin was SOOO clear! My boobs looked amazing too, well that’s the only positive things I can say about Yasmin. When it comes to my mental health it literally made me CRAZY! I’m naturally a very calm, happy and collected person. But these pills made me cry in front of my ex over small things, we couldn’t hold a serious conversation without me not crying, I could get moody over small things and then I couldn’t snap out of it which made things worse, I’ve felt extremely anxious, paranoid and depressed. My added anxiety have made me feel more insecure about myself, I have no energy to do my old activities that I used to enjoy, I feel lazy and like I can’t fully be in sync with my feelings. Basically: if you want great skin, go for it! But don’t be surprised if you suddenly get added depression, tears and anxiety. I’m off them now and I am already happier"

Loryna (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I started taking Loryna about 3 months ago and I've never felt worse! I feel bloated all the time, get severe headaches (which I normally never get headaches), have gained stomach issues and to top it off I have put on few pounds. Plus, Loryna also makes me feel sad 24/7! And if I'm not sad the I'm having outrageous mood swings. This oral contraceptive is definitely not the one for me. However, everyone is different so take my experience as you please."

Loryna (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I’m finishing my third pack of Loryna. I’ve really struggled with giving my body the adequate time to adjust to it, but I can’t take the side effects anymore. I switched because the last few pills I tried did not clear up my hormonal acne. Loryna has helped clear up my skin and my period is much lighter, both of which are nice. However, I also take Vyvanse for ADHD and narcolepsy and I swear Loryna is messing with the effectiveness. I’m incredibly fatigued and sleepy all of the time now. I’m also experiencing awful headaches. I’m so depressed and anxious to where I can hardly recognize myself. My boobs have gone up a cup size, I’ve gained 11 pounds, and yes I’m starving all the time. I have done intermittent fasting for the last two years and dropped 25 pounds but rapidly gaining 11 pounds in under three months and struggling with my intermittent fasting, along with other side effects, is ruining my self-image and happiness."

Nikki (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "At first I was really scared to start with Nikki because I’m a first-time birth control user and I saw so many bad reviews here. But I tried it anyway and I’m so glad I did. I’ve been on it for a full month now and I didn’t experience any spotting or extreme nausea or things like that. 3 days after I first started taking the pill, I had a bit of cramping but nothing intolerable. I just have a lot of discharge (which is probably caused by the pill) so I have to wear pantiliners frequently. However the withdrawal period came just in time (3 days after I took my last active pill). My skin is already clear before I took Nikki and it still remains clear until now. No weight gain, no acne whatsoever. It also didn’t affect my sex drive at all, in fact it gave me a peace of mind. All I can say is that everyone has different reactions to this pill and it’s worth trying!"

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "It’s been 3 weeks now and I have decided to stop taking it. I was on Blisovi before. The Yaz pill made my EXTREMELY emotional. I have already been diagnosed with anxiety and depression and this pill made it that much work. I began having really negative thoughts along with emotional tantrums and horrible mood swings. My sex drive is at an all time low. please do not take this pill if you are prone to anxiety or depression."

Ocella (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I've been on Ocella for 2 months now, my period is so light that I think it’s implantation bleeding ! My cramps are very mild and I have no acne, I've been sad about absolutely everything but it hasn’t effected my life so much. This birth control is so much better then my other ones I have tried! I am 18 years old, I have never had a pregnancy scare. My periods last about 3-4 days"

Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "This is a good birth control pill! I've been on Yasmin for a couple years and it has never failed on me. I also took it for acne but that was hit or miss. I go through periods where my skin is clear and then periods where my skin is bad. If I wasn't on Yasmin though, my skin would be 10x worse! In addition, my periods have gotten very light and only last 4 days. No mood swings, no nausea, no headaches. I truly recommend this pill."

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I can't believe there are so many negative comments about Yaz...I started taking it year ago due to my very painful periods (I would throw up, up, couldn't eat or go to school and work and popping large doses of painkillers). These pills Yaz literally changed my life. I used to have awful PMS and I would get really depressed week before my period. Everything is gone now. The terrible moods, cramps, everything. I feel great, actually I've never felt better. Only bad thing is I gained 6 kg since I started taking it and I'm really afraid of those blood clots everyone's talking about. I don't ever wanna stop taking this pill but I'm afraid I'll have to due to its well known side effects. But for now on I enjoy my life with Yaz <3"

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I have been taking Yaz for 1 month. My doctor asked me to try it for a couple more so my body can get use to it, but I would rather just stop right now. I'm tired all the time, depressed, no sex drive. I had horrible cramps, worse than when I was in high school, and bad migraines the week prior to my period. I cry at the drop of a hat and I'm really anxious. I do not like it, but I will give it one more month. We'll see."

Syeda (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "Never again. My pharmacy tried for years to randomly give me Syeda, even though I would repeatedly ask for Ocella. In January the pharmacy tech insisted she give me two packs of BC, and it was Syeda. When I went back in March I was given two more packs of Seyda. I didn't care to argue because this was around the start of the COVID19 Pandemic, and I figured they were stressed enough. After 4 months however I have had enough. I have gained weight from my increased appetite, I lost all motivation and enjoyment for things I once enjoyed, and I have been feeling more anxious. I don't care what a pharmacist says, generic doesn't me the same"

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I started Yaz a year ago and all was fine for the first few months, but I started getting so moody so I decided to stop. Then after 4 months I started again and it’s been the worst decision of my life. The only benefits are no pregnancy and less pain on period. My moods swings have been crazy and unending, and my anxiety and depression is following me everywhere, I’m losing contact with myself and IDK who I am anymore because I feel so numb. I have lost interest in people I know I love and I’ve become lazy. I have decided that I will stop today."

Syeda (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "THIS WAS THE WORST BC EVER! My doctor prescribed me to name brand Yazmin and somehow my pharmacy gave me Syeda for months. I have bled almost every day even when taking it, cramps like NO OTHER, knee pain, rash on my chest, anxiety as well. This is generic birth control that DOES NOT WORK! If I could rate a 0 I would."

Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "DO NOT TAKE THIS PILL. I have been on Lucette AKA Yasmin for 14 months. I initially went on this to control my acne as it was a real bad flare up. My skin has been perfect the ONE good thing. Now for the bad points - Sex drive has been more or less non existent for the whole duration. - I have experienced some excruciating migraines with temporary visual disturbances. I have also experienced enlarged veins with leg pains which have been really frightening since this pill carries a high risk of DVT & PE. I did mention this to the practice nurse but they still allowed me to take it? I have had and still at this very moment am suffering with incredible depression and anxiety. My mood is so so low. I haven’t felt like this in my life With regards to mental health. I have no desire to socialise and have completely and utterly cut myself off. I wish I had never taken this pill and I will never use any form of contraceptive pill with hormones ever again. Please do NOT start this pill."

Yaz (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I’ve been on this birth control for about eight months and I believe my acne is a lot clearer. It does make me quite emotional for no reason sometimes and when I get my period I get painful cramps which I’ve never had before. I’ve also seemed to gain weight and dislike myself. But my boobs did go up a few sizes."

Yasmin (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I've taken depo for about 5 years I have a very serious large amount of cyst in both my ovaries, a few Dr. have told me I have PCOS and I use to be in alot of pain from the cyst. My Dr. sugested surgery to remove my ovaries, so I went to a different Dr. My new Dr. prescribed be Yasmin as a birth control instead of the Depo I've been taking, it was so it would stop me from ovulating at all and sure enoughf within a month the pain was gone. Yasmin helped me get rid of my ovarian cyst problem."

Gianvi (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I LOVE GIANVI! No mood swings, no weight gain, it's helped my acne, it controls my appetite, and my breasts have actually gotten bigger. I have been on and off of Gianvi for three years now (I tried different birth controls here and there but I always come back to Gianvi because it has always been the best for me) and it's absolutely free! I definitely recommend it, but like always, everyone is different."

Zarah (drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol) "I've been on Yasmine for over 8 years, 2 months ago my local pharmacist suggested the switch to Zarah. Two months have now passed, I'm nauseous, I've gained 8 pounds and I'm also tired often, honestly I thought I was pregnant (I'm not)... The cheap switch is not worth the side effects. There is something different about this pill."
