Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "Tikosyn did restore sinus rhythm following unsuccessful cardioversion. As others have mentioned, cost is staggering, and hoping for relief at some point. Side effects so far are fatigue and truly annoying headaches."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "Experienced CHF in 2010 induced by hypothyroidism, which I had detected 30 years earlier, but doctors couldn't confirm because of outdated TSH standards; also had hypotension and hypoglycemia, which were again medically unconfirmed until 2010 CHF with EF of 13%. Defibrillator implanted in 2010. Put on dofetilide in 2014 by new doctors because other docs had ignored effects of amiodarone on thyroid medication plus amiodarone toxicity. In 2015 had tachycardia of 168; another new doc said dofetilide should have worked, recommended ablation, which was subsequently done. Experienced crippling fatigue; I phased out dofetilide a year later, no arrhythmias, energy returning plus clear thinking. Found ablation effective, dofetilide ineffective plus energy crippling."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "Been on 500 mcg Tikosyn taken twice daily for 2 months. Went into sinus rhythm after 2nd dose in the hospital. Experienced headaches and some chest pressure. After one month, I began getting indigestion daily, gained weight while eating less, have daily headaches, exceptional thirst, and fatigue. My cardiologist said to continue the same dose, along with 25 mg metoprolol and 20 mg Xarelto for another 3 months. With the quality of life being less than before, I don't know if I can hold off that long."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "I am scheduled to have an ablation done. I had to stop taking the Tikosyn 5 days before the ablation. Can I tell you I feel much better being off this medication. I would have an Afib episode at least 3 times per week. I developed severe insomnia and was extremely tired with low energy, and any exertion was too much, such as climbing 5 stairs, out of breath and fast heartbeat and extremely exhausted. Not to mention I was getting migraines. I do not want to go back on this medication."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "I am in my 40s, went into AFIB with increased frequency, until I could not stay in rhythm for more than a month at a time. Tried different medications and cardioversion. Nothing could keep me in rhythm. Eventually, I was put on Tikosyn, now, two years later, I have only had two more AFIB episodes that resolved without intervention. Tikosyn has been a miracle drug for me, highly recommended. The side effects for me include fatigue and headaches, but these are a small price to pay for staying in rhythm."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "Afib and Vtach sporadic for 3 years. Went through 3 other antiarrhythmics, they all made me very sick, vertigo, N/V, or tanked my BP. Dr. recommended this because I was already in the hospital from complications from my first ablation, which gave me Dressler's syndrome and eventually a pericardial window from fluid buildup that they said was from Eliquis. After 4 weeks on Tikosyn, no horrible side effects like what Rhythmol, flecainide, or Multaq gave me, just mild headaches and a little fatigue. I'm praying this is the keeper because I never want another ablation."

Tikosyn (dofetilide) for Arrhythmia "Update - Now over one year taking Tikosyn (500 mcg twice a day) in combination with metoprolol (25 mg, twice a day). Went from 100% persistent atrial fibrillation to 5% occasional episodes. Some side effects (dry mouth, dry eyes, a little fatigue - unless I force myself to be active), but nothing as debilitating as atrial fibrillation. Still highly recommend this therapy!"
