Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "Adderall 30mg/day = you feel like a genius, work hard, EYES OPEN WIDE. But at the end of the work day, I still couldn't stop myself from falling asleep on the skytrain at around 4:30 pm when I try to read. Don't think it helped much with depression and anxiety. Dexedrine 3 10mg/day = You have tunnel vision, Focused, block out distractions, helps with my severe anxiety. I think the depression is pretty under control too. Can read all day if I want. Could have really used this when I began my studies, 4 years ago! Not a month ago, with one course.... Either one, I think you perform better at work and school, but Adderall just wore off, so studying after work, you would still need coffee, or a power nap"

For Fatigue "Have been using Aurobindo generic immediate release dextroamphetamine sulfate 5 mg tabs, 2 in the am, for 10 months. Worked beautifully, more focus, more energy, more motivation to accomplish tasks. No noted side effects. Last refill June 2020, was a completely different experience. Seven days of early morning nightmares, no energy, fatigue, felt terrible. Reported to physician, pharmacist, and to FDA. Looking for an independent lab to get this tested and find out what happened. Pharmacy tells me that the other manufacturers of this generic drug are on back order and not currently available in my region in the US. Quality of life has taken a huge hit without this medication."

For Fatigue "I have been on 5-15 mg (max) of dextroamphetamine per day for 2 weeks now, an off-label treatment for depression/PTSD with excessive daytime sleepiness and inability to control impulsive behaviors. I have tried many SSRIs, SNRIs, as well as Lamotrigine and Quetiapine and been non-responsive or experienced intolerable side effects (most notably they would make me fatigued and literally suck the remaining life out of me, as well as completely ruin my sex drive). With the dextroamphetamine, I have noticed a positive change in my motivation, concentration, and energy levels, which has led to an overall improvement in my mood, as I am able to participate in activities that I had previously lost interest in due to my depression. My work ethic is also better. The only downside is I suffer from occasional anxiety, which has worsened since starting the medication. I am going to see my psychiatrist again to see what I can do about that. Hopefully, my experience will help anyone else with medication-resistant depression."

For Fatigue "Mostly positive, give me the little extra path I need, my stuff, in order to get my day going. I regret that my fatigue got to the point that I needed medical assistance in order to function as a regular person."

For Fatigue "I was given a small script of 10 mg dextroamphetamine XR. As a trial, for the daily fatigue I feel taking benzodiazepines. I took 1 in the morning for a few days. I didn't continue to take it because it was too strong! I was a fully charged battery. I was cleaning places and tidying like crazy. It also made me feel really good, everything was so rewarding. I know drugs affect people differently, but this is amphetamine. I couldn't sleep that night. No wonder people abuse this drug, it's basically pharmaceutical speed. I can see the benefit for narcolepsy or something short-term. But in the long term, I can see using it, being a problem for me. (tolerance, dependence) This is a powerful drug, and I would use extreme caution when taking it. Only take what is prescribed by a doctor. Please!"

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "I'm a rare case; I currently am prescribed 180 mg of Adderall (90 mg IR & 90 mg XR). When this was raised to 240 mg, I asked to try Dexedrine, thinking that after a decade on Adderall, I had simply become tolerant to it. My doc put me on 120 mg of Dexedrine. There was a noticeable decline in my focus, and my energy levels (not that’s why you should take stimulants) fell off the map. It was smooth. But for me, it was way too smooth. I remember taking 60 mg one morning and then going for a hike. I couldn't concentrate on a damn thing, and I was nodding off as I was walking. I guess I should have expected this going from such a high amount of Adderall to a lower dose of Dexedrine (which is absent of levoamphetamine). I would try it again though."

Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine) for ADHD "My extended-release pill, 30 mg Vyvanse, only lasts for about 5 hours for me. My doctor prescribed a short-acting pill, which was Dexedrine, for doing my homework at night. Took 5 mg and felt literally nothing after waiting an hour. Then took another 5 mg (as my doctor said I might need). I did feel a lot less hyperactive, but almost to the point of sluggishness. My concentration improved the tiniest bit, but not nearly as well compared to Vyvanse. This pill seems to work better at combating ADHD symptoms, but not really ADD symptoms. I would advise trying Vyvanse."
