Dextroamphetamine "Been prescribed this for 6 months now, 15 mg twice a day, needed to boost me up to 30 mg twice a day, but no side effects. Feel great. My local CVS now has it all the time for me. My insurance covers it. I pay ten bucks for 60 and have gotten off all my bipolar meds and depression meds due to this med. Love it."

Dextroamphetamine "I'm 38. I've been taking Dexedrine now for my fourth time for a month. I was diagnosed at 21 in 1995. I tried Ritalin for a couple of weeks and stopped. I went untreated for a few more years. I went to my doctor about my wild mood swings and EXTREME emotions and told him about Ritalin. He said I should try Dexedrine. Instantly, it did wonders. If a coworker said something that would have offended me and got me bent out of shape, it just rolled off my back. I felt great and inspired. It didn't affect my sex drive at all."

Dextroamphetamine "I've taken many different medications for my ADHD over the years: Adderall, Ritalin, Strattera, Concerta, and Vyvanse. Dexedrine is the most effective with almost no side effects. I only experienced slight appetite suppression with it, and it never affected my mood negatively, nor did I ever feel 'cracked out' on it. I now take Vyvanse because the slow release works better with another medication I take; however, I would strongly recommend Dexedrine to anyone who is looking for an effective treatment for ADHD."

Dextroamphetamine "The amphetamine molecule has two mirror images of itself. Dexedrine is only one of those images, whereas Adderall is both. However, Dexedrine is cheaper and just as tried and true as Adderall. Some Dexedrine generic tablets are scored and come in doses as low as 5 mg, giving you the ideal opportunity to discuss proper individual dosing with your doctor. When I was a kid, my doctor had me on too high of a dose. Now I take Dexedrine with my breakfast and don't run into any problems with one cup of coffee. Some of the therapeutic properties of Dexedrine diminish, but the core CNS activity stays pretty reliable at the same dose in my experience. I strongly recommend monitoring your kid's prescription bottle. Sometimes smart kids can make mistakes."

Dextroamphetamine "This medication is very good. I take it first thing in the morning, 2 capsules of 10 mg and one around noon. In exactly one hour, I feel that hit, dopamine increasing in my brain, me being able to focus on everything and multitask at one time. I was just diagnosed with ADHD. Before Dexedrine, I just could not concentrate on anything, it was so, so bad. But I can't explain in words the FLASH or hit you feel after one hour, it is tremendous. I feel so happy, everything I see, I see with happy eyes. Besides all the positive facts I mentioned, I really have to say it has severe side effects. The first day I took only a 10 mg capsule, after a few hours that it kicks off, I had an anxiety attack like I have never had in my life. I felt like my chest was going to explode, that feeling was so strong that I had to take Xanax. Besides that, I have problems falling asleep, some nights I don't even sleep at all. As well, my hands start shaking, and I feel disturbed and nervous."

Dextroamphetamine "I've been struggling with emotional/social numbness, lack of focus or drive, an intense caffeine addiction, procrastination, apathy, depression, an inability to improve my life, binge-eating, self-loathing, and even the seedlings of alcoholism, all connected to my severe ADHD. Been on a very high amount of Dexedrine for a couple of months now, and my life is completely different. My self-confidence skyrocketed, I'm able to go to a very drunk people-infested mosh pit and not have to get drunk to have a blast, I'm doing the most work I ever have, I'm focused and driven, I'm organized, I'm eating healthy, I'm realizing my worth and making breakthroughs about myself, and I'm ten times more empathetic and able to support my family and friends and girlfriend more than ever. This stuff truly changed my life. The only negatives are that I still have a caffeine addiction, which has given me very, very intense panic attacks. Also, insomnia. But nonetheless, I'd say 9.6/10."

Dextroamphetamine "I have ADHD and bulimia. I read through everyone's comments, and I couldn't agree more. I am a 21-year-old model living in New York City and suffered from chronic ADHD/ADD and bulimia. Ritalin would make me so jittery I couldn't even try to do anything. One hour of euphoria that led nowhere. (Focalin *is new* did the same thing, just paid more!) So they tried everything in every batch: Daytrana, Focalin, and Ritalin, then Vyvanse with Adderall IR or AddXR with ADD IR. Anyway, I looked up online and saw how Dexedrine is what makes up half of Adderall. I asked my doctor, he was like 'ehh,' but he went for it. I've been on it ever since. I think it is the most undercredited ADHD/stimulant medicine on the market. I have no anxiety and clean concentration!"

Dextroamphetamine "Wow. I have tried Ritalin, Adderall, and now Dexedrine. Let me tell you, this drug works the best. I don’t know why this drug doesn’t get prescribed more or as the first-line medication to try. To tell you the truth, I think Adderall should be banned. Adderall has Dextroamphetamine, which is Dexedrine, but here is where I think Adderall should be banned. Adderall also has Levoamphetamine, which gives you ungodly vasoconstriction. Levoamphetamine should actually be banned. There is no need to have Levoamphetamine and Dextroamphetamine in one pill. Adderall is like 3:1 with both Dextroamphetamine and Levoamphetamine. All Levoamphetamine does is raise your blood pressure and constrict your blood vessels. Dextroamphetamine doesn’t do this. Well, it does, but nowhere near like when I took Adderall. I feel calm on Dexedrine, and when I took Adderall at any dose, I felt like a crackhead. I believe that the Levo and Dextro combination does this, even my psychiatrist agrees with me to a certain extent."

Dextroamphetamine "My 15-year-old son, who has inattentive ADHD, was taking Adderall since 7th grade. He is now in 10th. For the longest time, he has been having anger issues, he is easily irritated by other students talking in class, noise on the bus, and his 7-year-old sister. I was desperately searching online for meds to help with anger with ADHD and ASP and found this site. Reading all the comparisons of Adderall and Dexedrine, others having the same situation and most improving on the Dex, I hoped that his problem was the Adderall. Went to the doctor, told her all of the above. She seemed a little skeptical about it but was willing to give it a try. I don't want to jinx myself or my son, but so far, so good, it even helped my sister with homework."

Dextroamphetamine "My daughter is now nine and has been on Dexedrine for about four and a half years. I know about the med from my little brother, and it worked for him. My daughter's doctors wanted to try all the new stuff, not one worked, so once again, I said put her on Dexedrine. Finally, after about a year, they put her on it, and she is doing great on a low dose. So if you have tried the others, go old school and use Dexedrine, it works :)"

Dextroamphetamine "I used Ritalin for many years before realizing it had little or no effect on me. I think the placebo effect applied not only to me, but also to my parents and teachers. Upon finding out that it's quite common for some patients to have their medication switched 2-3 times before finding one that works, I decided to try Adderall (which worked amazingly, but gave me insomnia), Concerta (which didn't work on me, since it's basically the same as Ritalin), and finally settled on Dexedrine, which I don't know how I ever lived without. Of all the ADD medications I tried, it was head and shoulders above the rest as far as effectiveness and had the fewest side effects (which were barely noticeable and disappeared after a couple of weeks)."

Dextroamphetamine "The generic for this med didn't work at all, however, the name brand (for some reason) is amazing! It has changed my life after so many other meds have failed. I am able to study, take notes, and remember what I've read now. The only reason I did not give it a 10 is that I am having some issues with insomnia. I'm sure that is related to the timing and strength of my last dose of the day, however, it will be adjusted. It can be expensive, however, after trying everything else and nothing else working, I would rather pay for this than deal with awful symptoms all day."

Dextroamphetamine "Got this for ADD and my chronic fatigue. It changed me. Grades in school went from 60s to 80s, I could actually focus long enough to plan my life and pay attention. Only problem I had was the tolerance. Although my dosage was raised and now I can take it regularly without feeling it, it made it really hard to sleep if I took it too late, and if the dosage is too high, or you are just starting, you get a really unpleasant buzz. Even though that buzz makes you super motivated and lets you get stuff done, it makes it really hard to relax and makes you more prone to panic attacks."

Dextroamphetamine "I am 39 years old and have been suffering from ADD my whole life. It wasn't until recently that I finally figured out what it was. After trying Ritalin, which didn't agree with me, and Adderall XR, which made me irritable, anti-social, and too engaged, I read the reviews of this and decided to give it a whirl. I'm only on week 1, but compared to the others, I am MUCH more myself with no anxiety! Also, I am shocked at how low of a dose gets the job done. I am on 5 mg once daily around noon. You may think you need more, but start low and see how much changes right before your very eyes. You get plenty done and still wind down after 4 hours. I sleep great, and my appetite is only affected the first 3 hours. I didn't give it a 10 because of some memory issues."

"Diagnosed with Inattentive/Hyperactive ADHD at the age of 27, and this was the first medication I tried. My whole life, I have been a stressed out, burnt out, insatiable over-achiever. One month in and I feel a genuine sense of calm for the first time in my whole life. No more impending sense of doom, and my anxiety/depression has almost disappeared. The absence of the inner rage demon at the smallest sound or sensory discomfort has really made a huge difference to my day-to-day life. The strangest side effect is that my taste in music has changed, and now I favor soft/slow jazz/classical, and my screen time has significantly reduced. I used to need CONSTANT stimulus (TV, Social Media, video games, high-sugar foods, 'achievement' etc.) just to get through the day, and now I just do not need or want these things anymore. I find myself content sitting with myself and being present, which pre-medication felt more like a torment than a moment of peace."

Dextroamphetamine "I take 15 mg three times a day along with Ritalin 20 mg three times a day, and I am so glad my doc found this combo! I'm 36 and extremely overweight, and I got the get up and go that I never had, and the help to keep my mind on very important things and people in my life, like my kids!"

Dextroamphetamine "By far the best medication I have tried for ADHD. It is great for someone who also has social anxiety or anxiety in general. With Ritalin, I had many negative side effects, one of which is anxiety. Dexedrine is great. I do not even need to take my clonazepam (Klonopin) during the day because Dexedrine is so smooth."

Dextroamphetamine "I had been taking Vyvanse close to a year with great success, but needed something I could gauge when I needed to dose and not take Vyvanse, which kept me awake for 12-13 hours. Switched to Dexedrine and went through 3 months' worth (all different manufacturers) of horrible generics. I finally got Zenzedi this last month, and it seems to work for maybe 45 minutes. This is not what I was expecting, did the formula change or something? It feels like I took a bad Adderall, to be honest. Generic Sandoz Adderall is more like Vyvanse than Zenzedi is, at least for me lately. 10 mg 2x a day. Has anyone else noticed an issue lately?"

Dextroamphetamine "I was on Zenzedi for about 6 months. I loved it! I have only tried Ritalin for my ADD, and it made me psychotic, and once I stopped taking it, I was too scared to take anything else. Well, 10 years later, and sick of my ADD, I was prescribed this medication, and it worked! I also had no beginning side effects. The only complaint I have is how quickly it wore off, but it could be my own metabolism, and anyone else could be different. However, due to my new insurance, I am switching to Adderall XR. I'll write a comparison opinion when I begin taking it."

Dextroamphetamine "I began treatment for bipolar 2 years ago. It has been successful. I still had severe brain fog, impatience, and lethargy, though. The psych doc diagnosed ADHD on top of bipolar. Tried Vyvanse, Ritalin, and Dexedrine. Dex won for me. 10 mg in the am and 5 at lunch and dinner. Much more patient and clear-headed."

Dextroamphetamine "It was a pain to get my Dexedrine prescription filled because most pharmacies don't carry it, and they have to order it. Compared to Adderall, Dexedrine is very calming since there's no levoamphetamine in the mix, just pure dextroamphetamine. Unfortunately, I was focusing on things that I wanted to do instead of the things I had to do (and what I worked on really made a difference). I would like to give it another try just to compare it to Adderall again."

Dextroamphetamine "Works well for my ADD, but DON'T ever mix with alcohol! I am an alcoholic who comes from an alcoholic background handed down several generations of my family tree. I take my Dex as prescribed (5 mg 3x daily, a small dose by choice compared to 45 mg 3x daily when I was younger and not in charge of my own health needs). But when I binge drank, I would always mix the alcohol with Dex, up to 50 mg a night so I could keep drinking. Lost many friends, a wife, and the respect of too many due to my actions, aggressions, combativeness, stances, and so on. Alcoholics, beware. I'm sober now and take it one day at a time. I still take my Dex but ONLY as prescribed. I am 35 and have taken it since age 12."

Dextroamphetamine "Have gone from Adderall to Vyvanse to dextroamphetamine IR, and after 6 months on this, I can say it is by far the best. Same cost as the generic for the same quantity with my insurance, and I like the higher dosages since I take 40 mg/day. It has the consistency of Vyvanse with the duration of IR tablets."

Dextroamphetamine "I have ADHD as well as binge eating. This helps me to not make impulsive decisions and I really can think a lot clearer. It really does increase the dopamine because I no longer have that intense urge to eat junk food and buy nice clothes. I can just focus better and I am not procrastinating everything. I used to procrastinate basic tasks like showering or brushing my teeth. It feels so good knowing I'm not lazy but just neurodivergent. And I'm so grateful for this medication. I'm on 10mg twice a day."

Dextroamphetamine "I have a positive experience. I was running around with anxiety, depression, and panic attack. I was on all kinds of antidepressants, then my doctor put me on Dexedrine, the best thing that ever happened to me."
