For Birth Control "So, I took this birth control for 3 years. Did its job in terms of preventing pregnancy, but at a horrible cost. I gained over 30 lbs, had terrible nausea, mood swings, anxiety, depression, headaches, almost no libido, you name it. It wasn't until I got off the pill completely to give myself a break from the constant stream of hormones that is birth control that I realized all of the issues I was experiencing were all the pill, not me. After 2 months off of the pill, all of the aforementioned issues have disappeared. Consumer beware. Not worth it. When I do decide to go back on birth control, it will not be Viorele."

For Birth Control "Horrible starting with the very first pill: severe cramping, migraine, loose bowels, tiredness, confusion, nausea. Had to stop after taking only three pills. Been on the pill off and on since the age of 19. I'm now 43, and this is the absolute worst experience I've had with a birth control pill."

For Birth Control "This pill made me nauseous the first 2 months I took it. I gave it a while to kick in; after that, it works wonderfully. My acne has gone away, I do not have any weight gain, decreasing weight actually. My breasts have enlarged somewhat. Overall, it's a great pill and very effective. The only downside is I can get emotional, but that's every girl, right? ;)"

For Birth Control "My doc prescribed this for endometriosis. I've tried other BC pills, and right away they either made me depressed, nauseated, made my period last for weeks, gained weight, breasts ballooned up and were painful, cramps every day, acne, pretty much every awful side effect you can think of. But thankfully NOT on this pill. There have been zero side effects. Maybe for the first week I experienced mood swings at the same time at night when I took the pill, but it didn't last if that was related to it. I only gave it 9 out of 10 because I've just started the second month, and I'm keeping an open mind in case things were to change. But I'm so thrilled with it so far, and I hope it holds up!"

For Birth Control "I've been taking Viorele for a little over a year. It regulates my periods well, and they're only heavy the second day, after that, I barely need a tampon. No nausea, not much bloating. It's helped my acne somewhat. Although the minimal acne I had on my chest and back is gone, I don't feel it's helped my skin enough to be beneficial. My PMS is different before every period. Sometimes I'm fine, other times, I'm super emotional. I will say that this pill has really affected my sex drive. I rarely think of sex, and it’s difficult for me to enjoy it. The only time I do feel the desire is if it's been a while since I've had sex. Overall, I rate it on a scale of 1-10: ⬇️ Acne: 5 ⬇️ PMS: 6 Regulated period: 9 Length of period: 8 Severity of period: 7 Breast tenderness: 2 Desire for sex: 1 I'm not sure if people can comment on these, but if you have mild adult cystic and non-cystic acne and know a BC or other method that has really helped, please feel free to comment."

For Birth Control "I recently changed from Kariva to Viorele. In just three weeks, I have been constantly urinating. I got tested twice for UTI, and both came out negative. I am nauseous from this medicine and the lack of sex drive and anxiety I already feel. For the people saying that Kariva and Viorele have the same effect, as the active ingredients may be the same, the inactive ingredients are not, and it is affecting me quite differently. You can easily research the difference for more information."

For Birth Control "This Viorele pill worked wonders for me! I even lost weight with it. The first few months taking, I did have nausea, but after the 2nd-3rd month, everything was fine. I didn’t get any sort of cramps during my period while on it. Before my period started, I would get very little cramping that felt like slight discomfort that one would feel when you have gas in your stomach, but other than that, it was great!"

For Birth Control "I will be starting my third pack next week. This pill has given me pimples, my boobs have grown a cup size, but hurt all the time. I can't even jog. No real weight gain, but just general nausea, pelvic, and back pain most of the time. I will give it another month to subside...."

For Birth Control "I started these pills because of a very irregular period, and once I started, all my periods became regular and shorter. This pill cleared up my acne as well. The second month taking it, however, I would feel nauseous, but it went away, and it also weirdly increased my sex drive. I did gain a little bit of weight in my stomach, and my boobs grew 2 cup sizes larger. Overall, this pill works for me and helped with my period, and I would recommend it, although it works differently for everyone."

For Birth Control "I just started using Viorele about a week ago. I have tried many birth controls in the past, and by far this is the best one. I haven't had any side effects like I have with others: no mood swings, headaches, irritability, and nausea. Hopefully, it is able to control my irregular and painful period. I'll find out in 3 weeks."

For Birth Control "Took Viorele for 2 months, and I had to stop. Started taking the pill when my period started, and my period went on for 4 weeks (medium bleeding). I also got nauseous after taking the first pack. Nausea and long bleedings stopped with the second pack. However, with the second pack, I was very moody, I had this uncontrollable anger, and being so angry made me cry so much. Planning to switch to a lower dose pill. Being off the pill for 2 weeks, I can feel the difference. Even my boyfriend notices. I feel like I am no longer angry and moody all the time."

For Birth Control "I loved Viorele. I switched to it after having bad side effects with 2 other pills that were 30 mg of estrogen. Viorele is amazing because I feel absolutely nothing, no nausea, have lost weight since I began taking it, no cramps, although I have been breaking out some, but it could also be due to wearing a mask. 10/10 recommend if you are coming out of a higher estrogen pill."

For Birth Control "I didn't like Viorele at all! Had the worst side effects! I felt nauseous the first month I took it. When I started the pill, I started having IBS symptoms! I thought I actually had it, but when I stopped taking the pill, all IBS symptoms went away! Lots of GI cramping and diarrhea no matter how clean I ate. Lastly, it ruined my sex drive. Was not interested in sex whatsoever. Highly do not recommend taking this pill!"

For Birth Control "Do not take this Viorele birth control pill! My pharmacist gave me this instead of Kariva, and it made my period go from 3 days to 7 days, horrible cramps, made me super angry with my boyfriend, low sex drive, made me cry, and makes me nauseous. This is terrible. I had taken this before I took Kariva and didn’t realize that birth control is not supposed to make you feel this crazy!"

For Birth Control "This Viorele brand was my knight in shining armor. The brand I was on previous to it made me so depressed. I was emotional and sad for literally no reason, so I switched to this brand. This brand is effective for me as a contraceptive, which is why I need it, and it regulates my periods. I get my period for 4-5 days, and it always started in the morning. The only issue I have is that it makes me nauseous. I’ve been on this pill for 1 1/2 years, and I still get nauseous from it. I got nauseous from the other brands I’ve been on, so I think I just have to get used to it, but this brand didn’t make me crazy hormonal, so it was the best option. My sex drive is non-existent, though. So that’s a bummer. Nausea and sex drive are the only difficulties I deal with."

For Birth Control "I've been on this pill for about 3-4 months now. I don’t have any side effects. No weight gain, nausea, low sex drive, nothing. I was really nervous to start taking these pills at first, but I literally feel no change from before I started taking them to now. No complaints."

For Birth Control "I switched to this birth control after wanting to see if it’d improve my acne. I experience a lot of nausea, A LOT. No sex drive :( and my cystic acne after 6 months of taking it got pretty bad. I also had random severe abdominal pain. My mood was fine, but overall, it seems there is nothing special about this BC."

For Birth Control "Been on this pill, Viorele, for over a year. I felt like it overall stabilized my mood, weight, and breakouts. But, I started getting migraines at least 5 times a month! Couldn't pinpoint it to my job schedule or the pill, but I'm starting to see here that other people experienced migraines too! Terrible migraines that would roll over onto the following day. Sometimes Excedrin doesn't help, or by that point I'm so nauseous I throw up. I feel like my migraine days are wasted moments where I'm so crappy and unlike myself. Scared of my hormones being out of whack when I get off, but I feel so terrible on my migraine days. I know it's not healthy for me. Definitely outweigh risks and benefits when considering birth control! Hope this helps!"

For Birth Control "I've only been on this medication for a week, and I haven't had any problems at all. I take it at night, and I don't have any nausea or anything like I did with other BC methods. I am sensitive to contraceptives, and on the shot, I gained 30 pounds quickly. On the patch, I threw up only 12 hours after having it on. Other pills made me moody or nauseated. This pill has a low dose of estrogen, and it has been great so far-frankly, I think I have been losing weight. Not sure if that has anything to do with this pill or not, but we will see!"

For Birth Control "This is the only BC that I have been able to tolerate since I had my first child over 10 years ago. I had no problems prior to pregnancy. I had a hard time after my 2nd child. No period, thyroiditis, mood swings, depression... yuck! I have evened out now. I did have headaches, nausea, breast tenderness, and mood swings in the beginning. Currently on the 5th month. I do suffer from insomnia but often wonder if Viorele is making it worse. I had many other symptoms that were way worse than starting on Viorele. It's calmed me and fatigue is trying to leave. My bowels are affected during the yellow pills and first few days of a new pack. Meds affect everyone differently. I was about out of options, glad the side effects are diminishing."
