For Birth Control "The first three months of this pill were not that bad, although I did begin to experience abnormal anxiety (for me) and mood swings. I also began to experience some heart palpitations (which I had chalked up to the anxiety). I am in month 5 now, and I'm beyond done. This BC has made me more moody than I ever have been. I get angry and irritated and snap at things or people, and I am usually a very genial and happy person. This has made me feel like an entirely different person. I have experienced awful anxiety as well, like panic attacks waking me up at night. Also, extremely vivid dreaming that causes me to feel like I'm not sleeping, which I am sure has perpetuated my other symptoms. Everyone's body is different, but my experience has been terrible."

For Birth Control "I have no complaints with this birth control pill Isibloom so far. I tend to be pretty sensitive to medications, but the only symptom I’ve experienced was slightly heightened anxiety for the first week or so. Once I pushed through that, everything went back to normal. My period has also been super light, which is exactly what I wanted since I usually have extremely heavy periods. Don’t let the negative reviews scare you away. This is a pretty good birth control and it’s super affordable."

For Birth Control "I have been on multiple kinds of birth control and switched to this one because the hormones in all of them affected my mood intensely. This one is one of the worst when it comes to mood swings and cravings. I cry at the drop of a hat and have intense emotional breakdowns constantly for literally no reason and go down the overthinking/anxiety birth control side effects rabbit hole of sadness. I highly do NOT recommend this kind. I chose this kind because it had fewer hormones, and my doctor said it would be better for me in the side effects department. I haven't even gotten a full pack in, and within the first week, felt intense side effects. Don't take this if you have ever experienced depression or anxiety."

For Birth Control "I’ve only been on Isibloom for 8 days. I’m taking it for acne more than I am for actual birth control. The reason why I’m writing this is because in just a few days my mood swings have been INSANE. I have gotten this random anxiety that feels very intense and scary. I normally do not get anxiety or mood swings like this at all, but I get these sudden rushes of rage and depression causing me to sob uncontrollably and act hysterical. I’m scared of how this may affect my life if I continue, because it’s causing me to feel depressed after each moody episode. I’ll continue taking it until the end of the month because I desperately want to clear my acne, but if it’s not 100% clear skin by then I will definitely switch brands."

For Birth Control "I used Isibloom for 3 years. I initially got prescribed it at age 16 for hormonal cystic acne, and it immediately perfected my skin. I have not had cystic acne since, and I rarely get pimples. It was great at lightening and regulating my periods to the Wednesday of the placebo week. I did gain weight, but I believe this is not due to the medication and more so to just my body changing for the better over time (I was really skinny, 120 lbs, 5’8 when I started it). The reason I went off it was that I have anxiety, and remembering to take a pill every day was not good for my mental health. My body also did not respond well to the sudden decrease in hormones during the placebo week (I would become very depressed, bloated, and increased anxiety). But again, I did have an anxiety disorder prior to starting this. I switched to Nexplanon, and so far, it has been a lot better for me. But Isibloom is an AMAZING birth control for someone who is alright with taking a pill every day to prevent pregnancy."

For Birth Control "The first couple of weeks were fine. A little increase in anxiety, but manageable. Week 3, I started being moody and just not feeling myself. Feeling nothing at all sometimes, or intense anxiety and/or depression. I figured it was just because my period was coming, but it came and went, and I feel the same. The anxiety can get so bad that I am having panic attacks, which I have not had in YEARS. I am NOT an emotional person, but I can cry in an instant now. I was on my phone laughing at something and then immediately started crying. I have cried more in the past 2 weeks than I have in 6 months, and I just feel like I’m going crazy. It has lightened my cycle and shortened it. I got a lot more cramping than with my normal period, though."

For Birth Control "I have been on Isibloom since around October of 2019 (a year and 8 months). I got prescribed the pill through the Pill Clubs online service. My first year was phenomenal! However, around November of 2020, I started having terrible constant nausea. I took several pregnancy tests that all came out negative. Around the same time, my depression became a lot worse, my anxiety was through the roof, everything made me cry, I had a never-ending yeast infection, and I lost all my libido (+ intercourse became painful and uncomfortable). Last week, I stopped my birth control to let my period come (it’s been a few months) and all of a sudden I feel like myself. My libido is back, I no longer feel bloated or nauseous, and my mood swings evened out. My period ended 6 days ago, and I’ve been back on the pill, I’m back to feeling completely terrible! Tonight I’m extremely nauseous and can’t even sleep. I’m going to stop taking it!"

For Birth Control "I cannot believe the side effects I’ve had on Isibloom. I’ve taken this for about 1 month now. I have never had this bad of depression and anxiety in my entire life. My boyfriend tells me I act different, I feel like I act different. I am an emotional wreck! Listen to your body. I’m quitting tonight, not worth it."

For Birth Control "I started this BC 3 months ago after losing insurance, it was cheaper than the NuvaRing. After finishing my 3rd pack of hormonal pills, I started having withdrawal symptoms (jaw pain, shaking, hot flashes, heart palpitations, anxiety, depression, panic attacks, extreme mood swings). These symptoms lasted for 1 week straight, 24 hr/day. I wasn't feeling like myself, and I took myself to the ER 2x in 24 hours due to side effects. You know it was bad when I went to the ER 2x with NO INSURANCE! After my placebo week, I started back on the NuvaRing and feel 100x better and like myself again. I was prescribed anxiety medication to help me through this awful week. I've never had anxiety or depression before, or heart palpitations. I'm having a heart monitor put on for a month when I get health insurance to ensure that I'm no longer experiencing heart rates of 90-175 EVERY DAY. Figured out this medicine is double the dosage of hormones compared to the NuvaRing. This explains withdrawal symptoms. Beware."

For Birth Control "I was really excited to start taking birth control. I was almost 19, in a relationship, and wanted to be safe. Plus, there were other benefits to taking birth control, such as lighter, regular periods and improvement in acne. When I first started taking Isibloom, I felt myself getting nauseous sometimes and cramps in my pelvic area. About a week after I started, I had gotten a cramping feeling in both of my calves, so I had to take ultrasounds to make sure there was no clotting. Nothing there, and I continued to use it. I noticed myself getting more sensitive and very irritable, but I figured it was a side effect. I would get sad for no reason. I would get really anxious sometimes. I disconnected with a lot around me. I didn’t have the energy that I did pre-birth control, and I definitely did not feel like myself. It progressively got worse, and my mental health was bad. Everyone’s experience is different. I stopped the birth control a week ago, and now I feel more like myself!"

For Birth Control "I’ve been on this pill for three years now. I started because I was having heavy periods, and my doctor recommended this to help slow down. After a few months, it did. This pill comes with a lot of consequences. I’ve gained about 40 pounds on this pill. I’ve had anxiety, pains in joints, bloating, night sweats. I thought I was really sick with something else, but every time I would go to the doctor for a symptom, everything would check out okay. This pill is okay when you first start, but the longer you take it, your body starts to show effects. I have stopped and am currently looking into other options."

For Birth Control "Isibloom contraceptive pill did what it was mainly supposed to do: prevent pregnancy. I was on it for 6 months and used it as my only method of contraception. My bleeding was on a completely regulated cycle, the first month I had breakthrough bleeding, but never dealt with it again. The issue I had was that there was no relief to my PMS-like symptoms. On week 3 (the week before placebo) was always when I had the worst symptoms. My doctor suggested that I was sensitive to the pill because of small hormone fluctuations throughout the day in a 24-hour period. I always took my pill on time, but still I didn't feel relief from those symptoms. I also felt heavy and overwhelmed a lot, it just didn't feel like it was enough to help me feel better. I switched to Nexplanon recently, best decision I've made for my body. I don't have those PMS-like symptoms anymore, when I bleed, it doesn't hurt like it used to. I don't feel heavy or overwhelmed anymore."

For Birth Control "I switched to this from Sprintec, hoping that it would be better in terms of helping my sex drive because I have absolutely none, but this made it even worse. It made me not even want to be touched, hugged, or kissed by my husband. It is ruining my marriage, and I am going to switch to something else ASAP. I’ve taken it for 3 months, and it’s been awful every single day. I feel like I’m going crazy. It has given me severe nausea and headaches EVERY SINGLE DAY, no joke, no exaggeration. I have not been able to get rid of the headache since I started it. I have been taking ibuprofen, Tylenol, and Excedrin like it’s all M&Ms or something. I am miserable. It has made my anxiety and depression 10x worse than what it was. I was doing really well before starting this, and now I feel like I’ve taken 100 steps back and have to repeat the process all over again. It has given me extreme insomnia. I haven’t slept more than 5 hours each night since taking this. Do not recommend."

For Birth Control "I started taking Isibloom in June 2019, the first month or two was horrible for mood swings, etc. Mainly PMS symptoms. It took me about 6 to 9 months of being on it for my periods to not come every month. I don't do the green pills in the pack, I just keep going with the orange pills. I'm now at the point where I just get my period every 2 to 3 months. I have not gained weight from what I can tell. Also, I haven't had any effects with acne, if anything, my skin might be clearer? The bad side effects of this, though, is that I believe it has made me a lot more depressed and anxious. I tend to be more sensitive to things people say and cry more often. Also, beware it might get rid of your sex drive. I used to have a very high sex drive, and then when I went on Isibloom, it's like nothing arouses me and, to put it frankly, I'm never horny anymore. I may switch to an IUD, but I've heard those are even worse. For now, though, I will stick with Isibloom."

For Birth Control "I think this medication can work for some people, but for me, I’m fed up. I’m just another one of those youths that got yelled at by their parent to get on birth control with no support to actually get birth control. I was too embarrassed to ask my doctor, so I just went on Pill Club. What’s the harm of anti-social convenience, right? Three years later, I gained nearly 50 pounds, lost my sex drive (I’m a Scorpio… that’s like unreal.), and had anxiety attacks that’d last hours for the first time in my life (I had anxiety prior but never an actual attack…). I kept using it because I was uncertain if it was contributing, and my husband was a pharmacy tech at the time-now physical trainer-that said it was highly unlikely that the birth control was causing my concerns. Three years later, I’m over it. I’m convinced it is the culprit and want my life back. Ditching this birth control and the doctor I was uncomfortable with so I can get in better health."

For Birth Control "My doctor switched me to this birth control to help control my endometriosis. Not only did this make it worse, it caused a lot of other symptoms. Was only on it for 2 months before I couldn’t take it anymore. I gained 16 pounds, extremely irritable, mood swings, and severely increased my anxiety and depression."

For Birth Control "I started using birth control through the Pill Club and was originally prescribed Cyred EQ, which works wonders for me, but then my orders of it were replaced with Isibloom, which apparently is the generic version. Within days, I started spotting dark blood and noticed other changes. My breasts were so swollen my bras didn’t fit, I experienced horrible headaches and joint pains, I was irritable, moody, and so unbelievably anxious and paranoid. I constantly felt on edge and even had suicidal thoughts. If you have a history of mental illness, DO NOT TAKE THIS MEDICATION. It amplified my anxiety and BPD times 10. Isibloom has been a nightmare."

For Birth Control "Cramping, spotting, headaches, slight sinus pain, severe paranoia and anxiety, and awful mood swings. I've only been on Isibloom for 2 weeks but can tell the changes. I'll stick it out, but if it doesn't get better by the time this month is up, I'm contacting my doctor to change my meds."

For Birth Control "I started this birth control again after stopping because my mood shifted constantly. This time around, I’ve been getting little anxiety attacks throughout the day, which makes it difficult to breathe and function. Before I started again, I rarely would get anxious, so I noticed right away something was off. So far, that’s the only negative I have with Isibloom, but I will probably switch brands because it’s not worth it to me."

For Birth Control "I have been on Isibloom for a little over a year. In the beginning, I experienced mild side effects such as mood swings and nausea, but it eventually went away around month 3, and my period became shorter with little to no cramping. However, around month 11, I began to experience some of the worst stomach pain and nausea that I have ever had. I was unable to keep any food down, had a very low appetite, and was extremely depressed and unmotivated. As time went on, I started to have severe headaches, inability to focus, repeated UTI infections, and an increase in weight gain, along with all of my nausea and sharp stomach pains. In addition to all of these side effects, I would frequently cry for no reason, have extremely heightened anxiety, and severe changes in mood. If you want to be on a pill that makes you feel as if you’re going insane, Isibloom is for you."

For Birth Control "I have been on many different birth control medications for years, and I was recently prescribed Isibloom, which comes in pink packaging-mainly for acne, but, of course, also not trying to get pregnant anytime soon. My second day on this medication, I have had extreme nausea to the point of throwing up twice, I had a severe panic/anxiety attack to the point where I am unable to calm myself down, my boobs are super tender, and I have severe stomach pain. The fact that this is only day 2 says all I needed to know. I would rather deal with the acne and the chance of getting pregnant than suffer through these side effects. I have never experienced birth control like this. This was a one-and-done experience. I would be extremely mindful of this medication, although it affects everyone differently; I have been through a handful of different birth control medications and never experienced anything like this."

For Birth Control "I started using Isibloom early March in preparation for IVF. By week 1, I started feeling bloated. By week 2, my anxiety started increasing significantly. I cried almost every day. I was also extremely sleepy all the time. After about 17 days of usage, I stopped taking the pill as suggested by the IVF schedule. My anxiety was through the roof, the following day, I thought I was going crazy. Two days after stopping the pill, I woke up at 4:00 AM in a massive panic attack. I was sweating, I couldn’t think straight, I couldn’t plan. I felt crazy, mentally tormented. Then later that day, I started my periods. The cramping was more violent than usual, but I was bleeding less. A few days into my periods, I kept feeling sleepy and unmotivated. Once my period stopped, about 1 week after stopping the pill, I felt normal."

For Birth Control "I am debating going off this birth control because I am not sure if it is the cause of some of my mental issues. I find myself occasionally having extreme mood swings, intense depression, and anxiety for certain weeks of taking the pill. It doesn't happen every month - some months I have zero side effects. It did seem to completely get rid of my hormonal jaw acne, which was nice. It also made my period shorter and less heavy. However, it has caused me to sweat way more, slightly more migraines, and didn't help period cramps at all. Also, if I take this pill more than 2 hours later than my scheduled time, I always will have heavy breakthrough bleeding for at least a week. Not sure it's right for me with a history of mental illness, but if you don't struggle with mental illness, it may be right for you."

For Birth Control "I have been taking this for almost 2 weeks, and after reading the reviews, I'm terrified to keep taking it. My boobs have been really sensitive, and I've been having a lot of back pain, and I already have back problems. Plus, I have severe anxiety and depression, and it has been much worse since I started Isibloom. Starting to think maybe I should have just gotten fixed all the way around to avoid all of this. But I have a baby that's a little over 2 months old, and he is all about mama, and if I get fixed, I won't be able to lift him for a while. Not sure what to do."

For Birth Control "I started Isibloom last year and just recently finished my 3-month trial period with them. If you have a history with depression or anxiety, I would not recommend taking Isibloom. I felt like I was going crazy, and my anxiety increased dramatically. I also had insomnia and paranoia during the end of the first month and second month. Did not experience weight gain, skin stayed the same (I have hormonal acne), sex drive decreased dramatically."
