For Chronic Kidney Disease "Have kidney disease. Farxiga helped reduce swelling, reduced my proteinuria a little, and helped my vision. The bad, got balanitis (genital yeast infection). What helped, no sugar, no bread, lots of water, only water all day long with food. The medication seems to work, however, you need to be careful of the side effects when they start. I stopped the medication a few times to get the balanitis under control. It only was bad when I ate sugar and bread. I did notice my hair thinning out. If your body doesn't have sugar, hair will not grow as well (hair uses the body's sugar). Long story short, take it, be aware of what your body does for the two weeks (write it down). Stop the medication if you see or feel things off (side effects are worse than the improvements), then see if things improve. I'm not a doctor, so please don't take my advice seriously. Just an opinion from 'experience' and great results on blood work. 6/10. Balanitis is really a bad experience."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Started taking Farxiga about 3 weeks ago for the second time. The first time I quit was having terrible yeast infections after 2 weeks. This time I was prescribed Fluconazole along with Farxiga. Took one every week when I noticed the yeast infection was coming back. My husband noticed that he was finding my hair everywhere, and I just went to my hairdresser who asked if I was on a new medication as my hair was broken and the new growth was thin!! That's it, no more drugs. Have taken Metformin (horrible diarrhea & UTI) and tried all the new 'wonder drugs', all had bad side effects. Tired of being a guinea pig! Has any of the above contributors that lost hair had it grow back?"

For Chronic Kidney Disease "I also have high blood pressure and heart disease. My doctor just prescribed this drug. However, reading all the reviews, I am not going to take this drug. I do not want a yeast infection or lose my hair. Looks like almost everyone taking the drug ended up getting a yeast infection."

For Type 2 Diabetes "(on for 4 months) Worked well, so I did not take as much insulin - had one yeast infection that stopped after fluconazole - I did NOT lose weight despite eating better with this. Major side effect of hair loss, so I am stopping - my numbers were fine before this, and the hair loss (and crappy texture) is so not worth it... doctor never mentioned hair loss as a side effect."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Have stopped taking it as I was having to pee all the time (every 1-2 hours). Feeling dehydrated. Yeast infection. Hair falling out. Only been taking for a month. Don't know what it's done for my A1C, but my levels are higher than normal."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I started this med 4 years ago. I never experienced any of the symptoms of others. Except my hair does feel thinner, but I've always had thin hair. I lost 20 lb taking it along with metformin, my A1C went to 6. Yes, I drink more water and pee a lot at night, which is a big deal."

For Type 2 Diabetes "I have type II diabetes and heart stent placement - originally took Metformin, but didn’t like the side effects - my endocrinologist actually recommended going on Farxiga instead - initially felt better for 3 months on prescription and lost about 15 lbs - but told my cardiologist I was losing muscle mass (especially in arms and legs), was severely dehydrated all the time (actually got wrinkles on my calves) and was experiencing hair loss, and my eyes were getting blurry (had eye exam - was ok but lids crusted all the time) with discharge drying in the corners of my eyes - was going to renew my 3-month prescription until Walmart says the copay is $760 and that’s with insurance - WellCare says it’s a tier 4 drug and the price rose to over $1,650 for 3 months - if I want a refill for just one month, it’s $454 - what to do? WellCare says a comparable drug in tier one is Glipizide, but I’m not sure what to do."

For Type 2 Diabetes "Very scary! Have had horrible hair loss for the last 2 or 3 months with no idea why. On my 2nd visit to the dermatologist, she asked me if I have been taking any new medications. The only recent change was Farxiga. I had been taking 10 mg daily for several months. My stomach has been bad and scalp is itchy, too. I will not be taking this anymore."
