"Oh my, oh my, oh my. So, I have eczema on my eyelids and around my mouth. I was lucky enough to get this cream as a sample from my doctor today. Imagine heating a butter knife with a blowtorch until it is glowing orange, then gouging out your eyeballs with it. Comes close to the vomit-inducing pain this cream provides. I made my husband try it because it was only fair... it did nothing at all. Maybe it only burns if you have eczema, I don't know. Not sure I can do this again."

"I tried Eucrisa for 2 months on the palms of both hands. It cleared my skin completely, and it stayed that way until month 3; then my eczema reappeared with a vengeance. For some reason, Eucrisa quit working for me."

"Have only used this for a few days, but I plan on continuing to use it for the next few months. Will give another update at that point. This drug has cleared up the eczema on my face and neck that was honestly quite severe before using the treatment. I have been using it for three days, and it is probably 90% cleared. YES, IT DOES BURN. I have found that the burning has become much less intense by day three. I think part of that has to do with the fact that my skin is much less irritated and inflamed than when I originally applied. Like I said, I will update the long-term efficacy in a few months."

"Well, it burned a little bit at first on my first day I used it, and after that, no more burning, but a lot of itching. I'm glad my doctor had samples he gave to me before I spent $100 on the tiny tube and wasted my money. How does this drug company expect a tiny tube that's very expensive to treat atopic dermatitis, which covers a person's whole body? Also, don't they realize that us people with this skin disease are not millionaires? Most of us are middle class or hardworking blue-collar workers working 2 or 3 jobs just to pay our bills and put food on the table. It's not our fault that we got this disease. We never asked for it. So why are they charging so much? Anyway, I'm not crazy about the price or the itching it causes me after I put it on."

"For 13-14 years I’ve had eczema, which ranges in severity from time to time. Dr. prescribed this ointment, and despite the severe burning and what it cost, I still kept it on because my skin was so bad at that moment. My whole neck was covered in rashes, and my face had big spots of rashes and redness all over. I was desperate. I put it on at night, and it felt like my skin was being ripped off. Almost one of the worst types of ointments I tried, but it’s possible to deal with it if you have a fan blasting at your face. The next morning, I took a shower... and oh my gosh, all my dead skin peeled off. Somewhat gross but satisfying (?) by the span of 2 days. I got to say, this is the best condition my skin has ever been. My neck is as soft as a baby's butt."

"I moved to Houston during an especially high pollen season. For about a month, I woke up with varying degrees of swollen eyes, ranging from slight swelling to eyes completely sealed shut. I don’t think I actually had eczema, as there was no rash, just extreme swelling and dry skin. I was too scared to use steroids on my face and did take oral steroids for a week, but once off them, the swelling returned. I was prescribed Eucrisa and am currently on day 2 of using the sample tubes. The burning is pretty bad, but my doctor gave me free samples of a moisturizing lotion and ointment to mix with Eucrisa to soften the pain. Within hours of using it, my swelling went down and I have woken up for 2 days in a row with no swelling at all. I just hope my body doesn’t reject it in the future, and that it’s safe to use throughout the remaining pollen season (another whole month)."

"After a year of trying everything from steroids, using natural remedies, and getting allergy tested for my skin, I finally gave in and purchased Eucrisa (my cost $100). I had read the reviews on here the day before I picked up my prescription, and I was incredibly worried that I would use it and it would burn my face as badly as the others described. For me, it does burn, but not my entire face, just random parts of my skin burn, and it does go away within a few minutes. I have a high tolerance for pain, so I’m able to withstand the burn, but it doesn’t feel great. The positive is my skin was so much better by the morning! I still have some dry spots, but my skin looks so much better than it did. My goal is to get my skin completely clear, then only use Eucrisa as needed."

"I've had eczema my entire life. For as long as I can remember, I've been itchy. You name it, I've tried it. From all-natural remedies to every prescription cream, ointment, and pill. I've only been using this ointment for 2 days, and I noticed a difference within hours. The itching is completely gone, and my skin is noticeably softer (to me at least). I didn't have any irritation or pain on the affected sites. So far, I'm very pleased. I'm using it as a free trial from my dermo, and she and I are both hoping it's a game changer that will soon be covered by insurance."

"$739.00 for a 60 mg tube (about 2 oz). What CEO needs a new jet or mansion? Our daughter has Down syndrome and suffers from eczema. We would like to see if this works, but our two insurances will not cover this outrageous cost."

"I've had eczema since I was a child, and here I am now, 41 years old, and my new dermatologist gave me a sample of Eucrisa. I can only speak for myself, and I see what others have dealt with on this site. Let me start by saying I used Aquaphor and Cetaphil for years, and Vaseline, and wrapped my skin with plastic to keep it moisturized. I saw my derm on Monday, 4/29/19, and 4 days later, 5/3/2019, it has cleared up tremendously, no itching, the color is coming back to normal. I highly recommend this product, I have brown skin, and the patches were dark to the point I do not show my legs, but this summer I will be showing leg, leg, and more leg. lol I am sure my insurance would cover this medication, but he gave me some samples, and I am truly blessed."

"I tried steroid creams for years, and my dermatitis just stayed the same. My dermatologist gave me samples of Eucrisa, and overnight, I felt so much relief! I swear by this stuff. I actually look forward to putting it on. Yes, it burns, but for me, it is slight and temporary. It almost burns the itch out. I highly recommend that if you have eczema on your hands (I can't speak to any other part of the body), give this a try! It's unscented, slightly greasy, and almost feels moisturizing once it starts to absorb."

"I had horrible eczema starting from birth all over my body, treated with blood transfusions, many, many years of prednisone, limited diets, and all possible naturopathies. I struggled as a girl with this till I was 27, saw a miracle doctor who said it would go away if I moved as far as possible from where I lived then. I moved, and my skin was normal within the first month of living here in the U.S. I am 55 now and started to have one small spot near my ear, used Eucrisa for 3 days, and it's gone. Just wanted to share with all who have this lifelong struggle that there is hope and a cure."

"My daughter is 6 years old and has suffered from eczema since she was a baby. We were constantly cycling through steroid creams and lotions. Our pediatrician prescribed Eucrisa. At first, my daughter's eczema became much worse. She had new, angry red patches all over her legs. We went back to a steroid cream followed by Eucrisa and Aquaphor. After 3 weeks, her legs and arms are clear. We have been able to avoid steroids by continued use of Eucrisa followed by a moisturizing lotion. Unfortunately, my daughter has started experiencing breakouts on her face and eyes. We have tried Eucrisa, but the pain is unbearable - 20 minutes of unrelenting screaming. In our experience, this product is fantastic for arms and legs, however, the side effect of burning makes it impossible to treat facial eczema."

"I have been dealing with eczema my whole life. The last few years have been really hard. I had a really bad flare-up this winter. My allergist gave me samples of Eucrisa. At first, it did not hurt when applied. Now, when applied, it stings like hot sauce. It has worked great on my face and fingers. However, my ENTIRE upper body is now covered in eczema. From my ribs to the top of my neck and down to my wrists is covered in the rash. It had spread to areas that I never used it on, and my eczema wasn't too bad before. I am giving more than one star because it has worked on some of my skin. I just don't know if it is worth the risk to try it. I would suggest trying it for a long time in very small sections."

"This cream not only caused me pain, but it caused my eczema to itch 100x more. It also dried my skin up to the point where my skin would crack and start to peel. I'm disappointed not only because it cost me $70, but because I was excited for a new solution to my eczema that didn't require steroids."

"My daughter recently has red, dry, itching symptoms on her face. I bought all kinds of cream/face. None of them really works. I used the sample Eucrisa, it burns her eyelid, face, but she feels better after 10 minutes. We used an ice cube to help her pain. But all the pain is worth it. Today is the 5th day, her face looks much better. I am so happy with the results. We will keep using it until her face is back to normal. Oh, last thing, now the pain is much less."

"I am torn on how to review this. Luckily, my dermatologist warned me about possible burning and suggested I mix it with face lotion. I tried this and, dear god! It burned like nothing I have ever felt. I was tearing up and actually sweating from the pain, which caused more hurt, even so I had to remove it. I eventually figured out if I put on a layer of Aquaphor (which has a similar consistency) and then put on a little Eucrisa, it was manageable but still quite painful (would have a glass of ice water and an ice pack ready to immediately apply to help). This actually did seem to help, and my skin felt smoother and saw less flaking, but I just couldn’t face this torture every day. I hoped the burning would decrease like some other reviewers experienced, but it never did."

"This drug is AMAZING! I've struggled with dermatitis triggered by soap (shampoo, hand soap, dish soap, etc.), and no matter how much I avoid soap, I still have remaining patches of dry, flaky, irritated, painful red areas on my face near my mouth and eyes. I read the reviews and was hesitant to try Eucrisa but was desperate. I was afraid it would burn, but rather, it stung lightly, and while initially uncomfortable, the stinging went away fairly quickly. My plan was to only apply a very small amount (like patch testing) before jumping in to applying to the whole area. But once I realized it was minimal stinging, I started applying all over. And I'm seeing results quickly-the painful swelling and flaking is reducing already, after only a few days. I am blessed to have insurance to cover this, but after the years of pain and struggling, I would definitely pay out of pocket for this. I highly recommend trying it."

"I was able to get Eucrisa for $35 for a full 60-gram tube. I was temporarily on Elidel, which seemed to help my frequent flare-ups on my hands calm down. It seems my eczema has gotten so much worse with Eucrisa. I have rash-like bumps all over my hands, intense itching, and pain to the point where I don't even want to go to work, and they felt like they were on fire. I didn't know what to put on my hands to stop the intense itching, so I went back to applying my son's triamcinolone cream to my hand, and the pain went away within a half an hour. I'm really unsure if I want to continue using the Eucrisa, I have not noticed any improvement in my skin. I've been on it twice a day for at least a week."

"I have eczema that flares up awful with the season changes. This time it decided to flare up on my eyelids of all places, and I was given Eucrisa to help manage it. The medicine works and clears up my eczema dramatically. The burning is terrible! It is almost unbearable and hurts so bad it makes my head ache. So really, it's just depending on where your eczema is located? I will keep using it because my eczema is awful without it, but goodness, it is so painful."

"After being diagnosed with a topical dermatitis, I was prescribed Eucrisa. It appeared to have worked after 2-3 days, but then the breakouts got worse. More bumps, rash, and itching. Continued for 2 weeks, it’s worse. Used the entire tube. Paid $30 after insurance coverage, but it’s not effective for my issue."

"In March, my 2-year-old gets eczema terribly either in the diaper region or all over his body, but this time he got it on his face, and we've tried everything. I'm pregnant right now, so I can't use the steroid cream that we usually use, and you shouldn't use a steroid cream on your face. The doctor gave me this prescription since it's steroid-free. It's lightened up, and it's not as red, and he's not itching. His face does look a little scary, but I think it's just his face healing, so I think it's working. It's just I want instant results. My doctor also gave me a savings card from the pharmaceutical company, and now my copay is $35, so ask your doctor if they have the card. Before that, it was going to cost me $300."

"I have had perioral dermatitis on my face for years. Nothing had worked, and I pretty much gave up hope. I figured I’d have red, scaly, dry, painful, burny skin around my mouth forever. I ended up with an eczema flare-up on my hands. Elidel didn’t work, and I refuse to use steroid creams. I had to pay a premium for this because my insurance denied coverage since I didn’t try topical steroids, but I’m so glad I did! My face looks and feels normal for the first time in years, and my hands are pretty much healed! I’ve been using it for about a week and a half. I did experience some burning on my face the first week or so, but now I don’t notice anything. I’m so happy I’ve found something that works! I can wear foundation for the first time in years!"

"Guys, do NOT use this medication. The last time I had an ointment that burned like this, it was found to be a carcinogen two years later. Find a medicine that's been on the market for a LONG time (I use a combo of Desonide and Triamcinolone) that doesn't cost an arm and a leg."
