For Dupuytren's contracture "Extremely painful and the outcome was no correction. The side effects were relentless itching after the painful injections, my hand and arm swelled 2x its normal size for a week after injections, and my hand was so painful I couldn’t even touch it. It’s only been two weeks and I am still experiencing pain and bruising. This drug should be taken off the market, in my opinion. A waste of time, money, and unnecessary complications for absolutely no reason! I’ll turn to amputation before I would ever do this treatment again."

For Dupuytren's contracture "In Feb. of 2021, I decided to have the Xiaflex shot. This was the most painful experience I ever had. The doctor did not give me a shot to deaden my hand. The bandage stuck to my hand at that site and felt like a needle was sticking in it. I passed out in the doctor's office when I had the bandage removed. My hand is now back to where it was before the shot. Xiaflex did not work for me. I tried the cream also, it did not work."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I received Xiaflex, and it was painful and ineffective. It’s only been 7 months, and my fingers returned to their previous contracture point. I had surgery 6 years ago on two different fingers for Dupuytren's, and they’re still straight. I would not recommend Xiaflex... expensive and a waste of time."

For Peyronie Disease "On my second shot, but I think this is it after reading some of these comments. I'm praying to God that I don't get any shorter than I am now!!! I'm still tender at the base after one week. It looks better, but trying to stay away from an erection."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I was very disappointed with Xiaflex. I had a procedure involving 3 shots to correct Dupuytren's contracture in my right hand, small finger. Shots were very painful, and the syringe supplied by Endo 'blew apart' on the 2nd shot. The next day, the cord break left an open wound that could not be stitched and took several weeks to heal. The finger is still 20% bent and still has extra mass under the skin. Making matters worse, my copay was over $900. Previously, I had two operations for the same condition in different fingers. Much, much better approach and results, and less out of pocket."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I first developed Dupuytren's contracture in my early 60s in my right pinky finger. No history of this in my siblings, parents, or grandparents. I had Xiaflex injections and manipulation with very good results. The shot was painful, but tolerable. The manipulation was pretty easy (not aggressive). The doctor numbed my hand, then gently flexed my finger and the cord snapped (almost no pain). However, it needed to be done again (same finger) about 4 years later with a different doctor. That was about 3 years ago, and I continue to have a good result. Pain from that injection was about the same, but the manipulation was aggressive. My skin split and needed additional care. I have not had a recurrence in my right hand since. Since then, I have developed it in my left ring and pinky finger. I had Xiaflex injected in the pinky and ring finger yesterday and go back in 4 days for manipulation. Looking forward to a good result."

For Dupuytren's contracture "DO NOT GO THROUGH THIS PROCEDURE! Money grab for the docs - more so than surgery. Awful pain for weeks and incredible bruising in my arm but felt it all the way to my right foot and groin. My husband referred to it as POISON - which I agree 100%. It’s been 2 months and the finger is retracting back in. I will never do this again - do the surgery instead!"

For Peyronie Disease "I saw results after the first round of treatment, but after the second round, went from a 60-degree to a 20-degree curve. I am on my 4th and last round, and I am at an 18-degree curve. The first round of 2 shots is bad. On the first day, you get 1 shot to erect the penis, and the 2nd shot brings it down, then you get the Xiaflex shot. I will not lie, all 3 shots hurt for a few seconds, and it is unpleasant. But so far, it is worth the few seconds of pain. I hope after this round back to normal or close to it. It made my sex life great, and my wife is happy with the results. I went on a website and got a grant for Xiaflex. Between insurance and the grant, it cost $0 for Xiaflex, but I had to pay for the medication to erect my penis and one to bring it down, which cost about a total of $150.00."

For Peyronie Disease "Completed 4 sets of 2 injections (8 injections total). It wasn't pleasant receiving the shots. Nor was it easy not having sex for a month after each shot. But everything does appear to be straightening out. It is longer and thicker. Would not go through it if there was a better choice. I have had surgery on my hands for Dupuytren's, as well as the injections too... Surgery is a rougher path. Surgery on the hand was bad enough, injections a better alternative. And the stories you will have will make your friends cringe. Wish I had known about the numbing cream. But done now. Doctor says it can take up to 9 months to get full benefit. It is working great then... Kind of like getting a dick lift."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Had a more than 90-degree contraction. The injection is painful, but I had no bruising. The injection of the anesthetic was very painful. Manipulation of the finger resulted in a definite snap of the cord, but the result was very disappointing. Only gained about 20 degrees. Sitting with an extremely swollen and painful hand two days later."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I am only one day post-manipulation, so I’m not sure of my lasting results. But I would not do it again, due to the pain and the tearing, even though my insurance covered the injection 100%. I had it done to my severely bent ring finger, which has been operated on twice before. The tearing was predicted, but the pain of the Xiaflex and local numbing agent was unimaginable."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I saw the hand specialist for my right 5th finger. I originally asked for surgery and was basically bullied into the Xiaflex treatment. I was told it would be less painful and a better outcome overall. I went in for an initial injection in my right 5th digit with over 50% contracture in May 2022. The injection was painful, but not horrible. My finger was wrapped, and I did experience pain in the digit and up to my armpit. I went back for the manipulation 2 days later. Again, the injection to numb the digit was painful, and I did not feel the cord tear. I asked the physician about this and was advised it would be 'OK.' I wore the splint on a regular basis, and as of December of this year, my finger is still contracted and the cord going into my palm is now more palpable than before. After all the time, expense, and pain, I don't feel Xiaflex is helpful at all. I would not waste my money on this treatment."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I had my right hand done with the injection Xiaflex, and it was very painful and not a success. A few months later, I had surgery on the pinky finger and therapy, and it’s straight. In March, I had the injection done on my left hand, and again, very painful."

For Peyronie Disease "I am a 56-year-old male of good health. Just finished my 3rd round of therapy, including modeling. I had a 45-degree curvature, which is now 20% and very functional and manageable. I had a good urologist that followed the recommended protocol to the letter. Although the injections were painful initially, I was able to tolerate them more in the subsequent series. Furthermore, I had my doctor provide me with a Novocaine numbing cream about 5 minutes prior that reduced injection pain considerably. Make sure you ask for that, as it makes a considerable difference. I did have some bruising after each injection, but it always cleared up within a week and was manageable. I am very happy with the results so far and will see him in two months for a Trimex evaluation to determine whether I want to proceed any further. I would recommend this therapy. However, find a good urologist, and do all of the home modeling he recommends between series and beyond so you continue to stretch and reform."

For Peyronie Disease "Xiaflex injection therapy worked, but only on the sides that had less scar tissue. My urologist was very arrogant, and I kept telling him that most of the scar tissue was on the left side. Because I was to only have so many injections, the left was never treated. He told me he used the photo of my penis to choose where to make the injections. Why didn't he use a marking pen? I read that it was the best way to inject Xiaflex into the plaque that needed it the most. He never did. Now I have an upward curve, and it still bends to the left when erect. I lost an incredible amount of length and girth. I haven't even tried to have sex because of it. Very disappointed in the doctor. Xiaflex did get rid of the plaque where he injected the Xiaflex, though. I need another treatment for the plaque on the left side!!!!"

For Dupuytren's contracture "I have pain in my right wrist and have Dupuytren's contracture in my right palm. The right ring finger was slightly bent about 10-15 degrees. The doctor told me the pain is caused by the contracture. He gave three Xiaflex injections in my right palm, which were quite painful. Then, three days later, he stretched the finger under local anesthesia. The result was a disaster. The small finger bent much more than before, about 45 degrees. I have to first straighten the small finger before I can do anything with my hand. The pain in the wrist is still there. I do not know whether the injection was incorrectly administered or the Xiaflex itself caused it. Please read all the reviews before deciding on this injection. I personally would not recommend it."

For Peyronie Disease "I’m very surprised by the bad experiences. Fortunately, my experience has been good. I’ve had 3 series. I completed shot 1 of the 3rd today. I’ve never had a reaction, but on the way to the car, I had pain from my sacrum to my knees. I had to wait a bit before driving home. Not sure what that was about. As far as success, some length loss, but girth returned and has straightened. I’ve been pleased."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Had the injection and manipulation in June 2019. The out-of-pocket expense was considerably high. I had no adverse reactions, and initially, my pinky and ring fingers were not perfectly straight, but I was happy. However, after six months, the pinky started to flex again, and by 12 months, it was back to what it started at and is still becoming worse. Now at 90 degrees. Would never recommend this treatment."

For Peyronie Disease "Opted for surgery over Xiaflex. Had plaque the entire length with a hinge at the top third. Now totally straight without ED, but lost substantial length and girth where the plaque couldn’t be removed. Overall, it’s a better deal. Doc Hauser was very good at taking me from a 110-degree curve to a 0-degree. Lament the length loss, but I’m straight as an arrow!! Also asked (kept asking) and received male intimate care post-op, which lessened my already strained emotional state."

For Dupuytren's contracture "My pinky and ring finger were pretty bent, and when I saw the advertisement on TV about Xiaflex, I decided to try it. It’s a very simple procedure. They numb your hand up and inject the drug. Then, after a day wait, they numb it up again and manipulate your hand to free up the cord(s) that are bending your fingers. The shots for numbing hurt about exactly as much as you would expect them to. The pain was not bad at all. You don’t feel the Xiaflex drug injections because your hand is already numb. Xiaflex dissolves the cord tissue and frees up your fingers to bend back. In my opinion, the pain of the injections was nothing compared to the soreness created by the drug itself as it dissolves the tissues. It’s bearable, and I just used a little Tylenol, which made it OK. It was very sore for the first week, moderately sore for the second week, and lightly sore for the third week. It was not that bad, and the results were awesome. I recommend it!!"

For Dupuytren's contracture "Excellent results, although done early in progression with right hand. 4th digit bent slightly near tip and 5th digit permanently bent and frozen at 1st joint. This condition had been progressing slowly over the past 12-18 months. I straightened and massaged on my own on 1st day after the procedure without numbing. I did not understand this would be done painlessly with numbing on the 2nd day. I heard large 'pops', but with searing pain during this. I'll know better next time. But it seemed to be effective, and I can honestly say I am 100% normal. I still have thick areas on my palm and between my 4th & 5th digit from when the MD split the skin after numbing and over-adducting these fingers apart. Left hand was too severely progressed, and without attempting to use Xiaflex, surgery was performed. My 5th digit was unable to be straightened fully and over the past 5 years has regressed. 4th digit on left is slightly bent near the tip. I hope we can try Xiaflex on left hand."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Made my 2nd and little finger have a bend in them at the big middle joint that won't straighten out now. Overall, fingers in the right hand seem swollen on the underside and extremely sensitive to touch. My hand has lost the grip it had before the injections. Now I know why you can't get it from the USA into Canada anymore. There should be a class action lawsuit over this poor drug that does more damage than good."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I had the injection done after my pinkie and ring finger became significantly contracted. I was assured that my research saying it could be a quite painful procedure was wrong. In fact, it was incredibly painful, and I had swelling and severe bruising in my entire hand and arm, clear up to my underarm and lymph nodes; the doctor's response was that I had had an abnormal reaction. The waiting period between the injection and manipulation kept me awake with nerve pain. My fingers straightened, but in the five months since the procedure, I have weakness, aches, and pain in the arm where it bruised. While it appears I need the procedure in the future in my (dominant) right hand, I am extremely hesitant to even consider it and will likely evaluate other options."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Very painful and creepy. Hand mangled, bruised, skin ripped open. Took time off work, wore a splint at night. A year after, it came back with a vengeance. Twice the scar tissue, fingers crooked up even more."

For Dupuytren's contracture "It has now been 8 months since I had my injection, which resulted in a 50% improvement. No return to the previous contraction yet. The problem is the circulation in the finger is very poor, there is visible atrophy in the finger, and it goes numb with the slightest amount of cold. From my experience, I cannot recommend this procedure. Will update my review in about 3 months."
