For Dupuytren's contracture "Before 1-07-19, I thought the benchmark for pain was the night I had to undergo an emergency bladder catheterization for another issue. The Xiaflex injection that I just experienced completely erased that unpleasant memory with a brand new horrifying one. The next day, when my hand was injected with novocaine before the manipulation, was almost as bad as the Xiaflex. I briefly glanced at my hand when the procedure was complete and saw that my fingers were back to their normal position. My point is simple. As medicine advances, isn't the comfort of the patient supposed to be a main part of the equation? I had Needle Aponuerotomy on two previous occasions, and the discomfort was minor compared to this, not to mention less expensive to all concerned. My other hand is also due, and I would rather live under a freeway bridge than go through Xiaflex again. I'm definitely going back to N.A. even if I have to go out of network and pay out of my pocket."

For Peyronie Disease "I wish I had read more about Xiaflex before agreeing to be treated. I went through all 4 cycles, 8 injections in total. After 2 cycles, I saw no improvement. Now, I wish I had never done it at all. After the 4 cycles, my problem is much worse. The fibrosis grew. The bend that used to be a slight slope now bends like a knuckle. I'm far worse off than before I was treated with Xiaflex. I'm now doing daily penile traction therapy, hoping to see some improvement over time. I would say to anyone considering Xiaflex for Peyronie's, don't! You will most likely regret it."

For Peyronie Disease "Completed 3 cycles. So far, no improvement. 65 percent curve. I also use a stretching device that I paid $540 USD for from the Mayo Clinic. Lucky for me, I have good blood flow and get hard erections. It still works, and the people I have had sex with do not seem to mind me having a curve. The only other option is to continue stretching or stitch it straight. An implant would only happen if I had ED. Maybe someday they will develop a better grafting material that stretches like a natural penis. It sucks turning 60."

For Peyronie Disease "After the first series of injections, which were not painful, I waited as prescribed before sex. First experience having sex, and I got a penile fracture. Do not take Xiaflex unless you want to go down the road of a penile implant."

For Peyronie Disease "After receiving 4 injections for Peyronie's disease manifested by an approximate 30-degree curve to the left, I find myself at least one inch shorter and a curve upward larger than the previous curve. I'm told this curve is not due to plaque, therefore, not correctable. Sex, that is penetration, is almost impossible with this particular curve. I was better off before this treatment."

For Peyronie Disease "Look for other options! Unless you're into your penis looking like balloon art. My doctor bragged about it, telling me all his success stories. How it was my only option. I never had an ultrasound or imaging before or during the procedure. However, he mentioned during my 2nd injection that I had the largest plaque he had performed the injection on. At one point, he asked me where he should inject it. That’s after he already jabbed my penis 5 times trying to hit plaque and injecting a little each time. If I had known what I know now about this drug, I would have even looked at natural alternatives."

For Peyronie Disease "After two rounds of Xiaflex, I can say I’ll never have a third. Never recommend to anyone, no matter how bad your PD is. The pain, swelling, blisters, and bleeding are an 11 on a scale of 1-10. Nothing is worth what this horrific drug has done to me."

For Peyronie Disease "It's been 9 months and 2 injections every 6th week. No discomfort after initial injection. Always bruised for a few days. Went from 75% curvature to 50%. Opted to continue. Must go to an expert in this field. The details are important. The stretcher must be from Mayo Clinic. Must adhere to wearing it as directed. The stretcher allows growth of good tissue in the right area. My doctor has treated over 5,000 patients from all over the world. UCSF has their own PD unit. Highly recommend."

For Peyronie Disease "Don't waste your time or money. I went to my urologist for the treatment, who was excellent. Little bruising or discomfort with the injections. After 4 courses of injections over several months, NOTHING. I even purchased an expensive traction device and followed the instructions perfectly.... The only option for this disease, unfortunately, is surgery if you want any results at all. So glad my health insurance paid for this as it's VERY expensive and ineffective."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Painful, expensive, and useless treatment. I have extensive Dupuytren's. No follow-up whatsoever. Immediate results seemed hopeful, but regressed almost immediately despite PT and stretching regimen. No difference whatsoever from pre-treatment condition after 6 months."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Absolute waste of time and money. Even after my PPO coverage, I was still left owing more than $3,000. It was VERY painful, and only a few months after the treatment, my hands are back the way they were before I started. This is despite hand therapy 3 times a week and wearing a brace while sleeping. DO NOT HAVE THIS TREATMENT! Find another way - I suggest Needle aponeurotomy, which I did several times with great success."

For Peyronie Disease "I have more of a curve now than I used to. My penis is all black and blue. My urologist was shooting other injections right in the bruising. Throbbing pain. Shortness of breath. Headaches. It's not worth it at all. I had way better results with acoustic wave therapy. Girth was better and it was straighter."

For Peyronie Disease "Terrible experience with Xiaflex! This is a very bad drug! It left me worse than I was! I wish I would have never done this. I felt a burst, worst bruising ever. So very painful! I still don't feel right, this has messed me up big time! This drug should not be used for this! Rating this drug as a 1 is too high!"

For Dupuytren's contracture "I had surgery on my left hand and thought I would try this less invasive method. The pain of the injection and finger stretch was moderately painful. The problem is the contracture returned in 9 months and was worse than before the treatment, 60 went to 90 degrees."

For Peyronie Disease "Painful and stressful. It seemed to break up plaque a little after the 2nd round. No further progress after that. By the 3rd round, there was more plaque developing and curvature actually got worse. I only give it more than one star because I do believe it helps a few people, but not a high percentage. It was worth trying at least."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I would not recommend this procedure at all. I had a reaction to the injection, which caused bruising on my arm up to my armpit. It felt like my whole right side of my body was just not quite right, however, my Dr. said that it just couldn't be from the shot. It is a week and a half later, and my arm still hurts, and my little finger is bruised, swollen, and aches. The procedure was painful, and the manipulation of my little finger three days after the shot hurt, and I felt the tearing of the cord or whatever. My finger is still so swollen and bent that I'm not sure how straight it will be after it heals up, hoping upon hope that it actually heals and I can use it again. Again, I would not ever do this again!"

For Peyronie Disease "I just finished my second round. Like most others, the first set of shots were not that painful but uncomfortable. The second shot of the first series was given 1 week after the first. I purchased the traction device that bends and used it as directed. The second round of shots was done on successive days and it was much more painful with a lot more bruising and pain. I couldn't use the traction device for over a week because it was too uncomfortable. I just went in for an assessment of the curvature and it went from 60 to 50 with no change in length or girth, for which I'm grateful. I am scheduled for my third treatment in a week. I can't say anything too bad about the whole experience, other than I was hoping for a more significant change. But I trust the doctors at Mayo. I will let everyone know of any changes moving forward."

For Dupuytren's contracture "Had the treatment 20 months ago for a 45-degree bend in my little finger. The pain was minor. The procedure was very successful with no return. I’m sorry for the poor outcomes others have had... my experience was very positive, and I would certainly do it again."

For Dupuytren's contracture "I was so excited to finally get my hand straightened out! My doctor, who had special training injecting Xiaflex, never recommended surgery to correct my hand. He told me that I would be very happy with the results! Well, I am not. My ring finger is at a 90-degree angle. He now recommends surgery. I have a very high deductible, so the Xiaflex alone was $3600.00 out of pocket! With very little correction. I can't help but think that these doctors kick back to recommend the injection over the surgery. And since you purchase the Xiaflex from a professional pharmacy, no refund or adjustment is issued. Very unhappy!"

For Dupuytren's contracture "It has now been a year since I had the injections. I did not experience pain to the extent that some people have posted. My injection resulted in about a 50% improvement, and it has stayed that way after one year. Still have a problem with it going numb in cold weather, but in spring and summer, it is not a problem. All in all, I feel it was a better option than surgery for me."

For Peyronie Disease "I had my 4th injection from my urologist a month ago for Peyronie's disease. It was so painful all the muscles in my back locked up. Since those injections, I have barely been able to walk. So I went to my primary doctor, who said I have arthritis in my hip, but how suddenly the pain and inability to walk due to feeling like tendons were ripping made me think there’s something else wrong. The pain is only 3-6 inches away from my penis, so I thought maybe Xiaflex related. I had to read about bad experiences when used on people's fingers to find out that some doctors messed up and didn’t get it injected exactly where they should, and it trickled down onto tendons in hand, causing damage. So now I believe that maybe it trickled off the plaque down to the tendons toward my left hip. The inability to walk without extreme pain is just getting worse. It’s been a week, and my primary care doctor hasn’t called me back."

For Peyronie Disease "I am very satisfied with how things have gone and am happy that I chose to go the Xiaflex route. I have had two sets of injections, with the third set scheduled. I started out with a 65-degree curvature and am now down to 20 degrees. I would be thrilled if I was left with no further improvement since 20 degrees is mild compared to where I was. Yes, the injections are painful, but that isn't surprising considering the location. And I experienced severe bruising each time and a bit of pain for about three days afterwards. I should add that I also have Dupuytren's, so that is the source of my plaques, not injury."

For Peyronie Disease "I had my first injection. After reading all the horrible reviews, I was terrified but decided to go with it. I had my first injection. No pain. Normal injection pain, 24 hours later no swelling and no bruising. Making me wonder did I get an injection of Xiaflex or saline water? Was told due to my extreme curvature it would take multiple injections. I just pray it works. If I have any more curvature, it'll be a complete loop. Any more shrinkage and it'll be gone."

For Peyronie Disease "I went through two cycles of this treatment, and for me, all it did was change the bend. It bothers me more than it does anybody else. Not to disparage my doctor, but he didn't describe the penile molding as well as he should have until after the second shot of my second cycle."

For Peyronie Disease "The bend moved to the top middle from being closer to the tip. The bend is somewhat lesser, but now the length and girth are a lot less also. Take your chances on that it will go away by itself. Not worth the cost, pain, and decrease in size. Now what can I do? Should be lawyers begging for my business with lawsuit. So annoyed!!!"
