"I was prescribed the topical ointment Clindatech by my GP after three years of trying different medications for my adult cystic acne. It has now been two weeks, and the improvement is incredible, I no longer struggle with huge cysts that last for weeks, and the smaller spots I had are about 80% gone. I haven't had skin this clear in 10 years. I use the applicator as often as I think to when not wearing makeup and twice a day when I do. A thing to note is that since using this drug, I have completely stopped squeezing cysts and blackheads so that the drug was given a fair go. The only thing I'm not completely satisfied with is the fact that Clindatech doesn't stop small pimples from forming (due to hormones), but it does kill them within days."

"I had very mild to moderate acne for a couple of years. Only prescription I like. I was prescribed clindamycin with benzoyl peroxide gel a year and a half ago, and this topical antibiotic gel has dramatically improved my skin. I have barely gotten pimples on my face because it has really cleared my skin. KEEP IN MIND-it works best with benzoyl peroxide than by itself, and also it depends on what brand you get. However, make sure that you are also eating well and taking some good vitamins, probiotics, and essential minerals such as zinc. I use ultra-gentle Neutrogena facial cleanser, then niacinamide plus zinc by Ordinary serum and La Roche double repair SPF 30 prebiotic moisturizer in the morning and clindamycin at night. I hope I helped you out."

"I never had bad acne until I started college. This product made me break out 10 times worse for the first 2 months. But that's what it's supposed to do. Now I'm on my 3rd month and all of my pimples and bumps are pretty much gone. I was left with some scars, but that's also normal and will fade while continuing to use the products. It may seem hopeless at first (trust me), but it really works and it's worth it! Good luck!"

"This topical medication is AMAZING. I'm a 23 y/o male, and I've always struggled with mild cystic acne. I have Clindamycin Phosphate (lotion) 1%. Before starting, I had a cyst on my face that would not clear for 4 weeks and two more forming. Legit overnight, the swelling went down. I have been using this for about 7 days now (once a day) in combination with a 10% BPO (Benzoyl Peroxide) face wash, and my skin has already begun to clear. This product won't cause 'purging' like a retinoid or adapalene because it is an antibiotic and will not cause your skin to turn over, which is a huge plus if you're not dealing with moderate to severe acne (in my non-medical opinion). Some people say it causes drying, which it may. It has stearic alcohol in it, so if you're worried about drying, I would wait about 30 mins after washing your face to apply, as a freshly washed face will increase the likelihood of irritation."

"I am from India. I had a severe and uncontrolled acne problem arising due to oily skin and a bad liver. I was advised Clindac A (Clindamycin phosphate) along with Liv52. Not a single acne since I am applying this gel. As of now, I did not encounter any side effects."

"I love this medicine! I’ve only been using it for about a month and see major results! For even better results, use it with “Acne Medication 5 Benzoyl Peroxide Gel USP, 5%.” They work like a dream together! Though, it made my skin peel the first week I used it, so be careful! After about 2 weeks of use, the peeling stopped and my skin looked amazing! I noticed my acne scars beginning to blur, and I’ve never seen my skin look better. Highly recommend, but be cautious of the peeling! Don’t be panicked of it, I believe it’s a side effect. It’ll go away before you know, so don’t stress over it like me. Good luck!"

"I've been using the Taro clindamycin, which has benzoyl peroxide, for about a month. I have many cysts and patches of acne on my chin and jawline. Or should I say I did? It has cleared mostly all, I just get the odd tiny whitehead now, no cysts! I use it at night after cleansing and wait about two hours, then apply a moisturizer so my skin doesn't dry out. Warning: you need to ease in, then apply every day, otherwise, it will most certainly irritate your skin. My neck puffed up at first because it's not used to much of anything on it. All in all, my skin is happy, just make sure you are moisturizing twice a day!"

"I've always had clear skin until recently, my skin isn't horrible, but I never had to worry about pimples on my face. I have always suffered from chest and back acne. I've been using this about a year now. Not one pimple now, this began working at week #1. Everyone's skin will react differently to products. Instead of saying it doesn't work, say it didn't work for you, because this product is a winner and a wonder healer."

"I used to have acne when I was younger, then after having my son, my skin cleared up. I would get the occasional pimple associated with PMS. Then all of a sudden, my skin went bananas! I was breaking out all over my jawline, neck, and chin, and they were cystic and hurt very much. I felt uncomfortable and very insecure at 37 years old. I thought my days of hiding due to acne were over. I've been using it for a week now, and it has cleared up my skin so much. I have to mix it with benzoyl peroxide as well. The only downside is it dries the skin and burns a bit, but the results are amazing!!"

"I am an 18-year-old teenager. Yes, I know acne loves to pop up during the teenage years, but I've had it for more than 5 years. It was really hard for me to be confident when my face is covered in pimples. The only clear spot I have is my temples. After my doctor suggested Clindacin, I was shocked. It burned right when I applied it, but that's only because my pores were open. I've been using this for about a week, and I've seen major results. My acne has shrunk, and some even disappeared! Believe me or not, but my confidence grows a step higher every time I see one pimple disappear. I still don't have a clear, spotless face yet, but that's because it's a month-long process. I'm only one week into the treatment. I hope this helped! :)"

"What’s so odd is that I used the clindamycin application for 2 months, and it completely cleared my acne and made my skin amazing. Now, at about 3 months, my skin is horrible. They say give it 3 months, and it should clear all your inflammatory acne. I had like 10 deep inflamed pimples that have left pitted scars, which I’ve never gotten before, and my skin is extremely textured compared to before (comedones). I’m giving it one more month to see if it improves, only one large inflamed pimple left on my face, and I better not get many more! What it does help for sure is inflammation, and I can definitely tell the difference before and after I apply it. Maybe I’m having antibiotic resistance."

"I have had problems with acne off and on as a teenager, but after I had our children, it got worse. I mean, a LOT worse! It got so bad that I have not been in any family pictures or even gone in public for the last 4 years! I am 39 years old and finally got so sick of wasting money and time on everything you can imagine, even tried every old wives' tale. Finally, my Dr. put me on this, benzoyl peroxide 5% and Retin-A. Yes, weeks 1-3 made it 30% worse, but week 4 and beyond, my skin looks amazing! I now love going into public and my confidence is through the roof. I would definitely recommend it for everyone!"

"I started to have a lot of small acne again after I was off Benzamycin for around half a year. I was then prescribed Doxycycline, Clindamycin, and Retinol at the end of February. Hearing that Doxycycline might cause side effects, I decided not to take it. While starting Retinol and Clindamycin, I was peeling, burning, and breaking out like crazy. I wore a mask for a whole week when I went to work because I couldn't put makeup on, and it looked terrible. After two weeks of pain, I finally gave up Retinol and only used Clindamycin. In two weeks, my acne started clearing up. Now, it has been a month, and my skin is 95% cleared. I really like this medication because it's not dry at all. (Maybe because my skin is used to it already.) Give it a try!"

"I used the liquid version of this product, and it worked really well for about 6 months. Then my doctor prescribed the same medication but in a cream version, and it's not working at all, instead of clearing my breakouts, it makes them worse. It's also making my face extremely oily."

"I started using clindamycin at the end of April. It took 2 weeks for my acne to start clearing up and 4 weeks for my acne to stop altogether. My doctor recommended that I continue to use clindamycin for 8 weeks after my acne cleared. So I stopped using it this month (July). Highly recommend this medication. Very gentle yet very effective."

"I have been using clindamycin for 2 months, and my acne has cleared up and is now smooth, no hard, huge pimples or zits anymore. I also threw away my MAC makeup and bought oil-free-based makeup and stopped eating chocolate per my dermatologist, and my skin has been great. Oh, the first 2 weeks my acne was worse than it ever was, then I used clindamycin, but after that, my skin was clear, just an FYI. Also, my dermatologist told me to buy the Differin gel to clear up my dark marks, so we shall see how that works."

"I have been using the Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Solution USP 1% with a Tretinoin cream for my acne. I'm still on my first week, but I have definitely noticed an improvement on my face. The only downside is my skin is extremely dry before the cream and about 30 minutes after the cream has been absorbed into my skin. I'm not sure if it's the cream or due to me not washing my face properly before using it. It might not work the same for everyone, but this stuff has definitely been saving my life. I was so embarrassed to take pictures due to how bad my acne was getting, and then I was prescribed this by my doctor, and it has made my face look so much better."

"My son, who is 13, just started using this product due to acne in his T-zone. He has really big pores in between his eyes and always breaks out there, on his nose and chin. He was already using Differin every night, which helped clear up acne for the most part after the 'purge,' but he still had breakouts, and it was spreading to his cheeks near the nose. Derma prescribed clindamycin topical gel, and for two weeks since starting, his face has really cleared up. Here is the regimen: at night, wash your face with a mild soap (doc recommended Dove Beauty Bar), wait 15 minutes for your face to dry. Then use Differin in your problem areas, he just puts it in the T-zone. In the morning, wash your face, wait 15 minutes. Then apply the clindamycin in the affected areas in a thin layer. Use sunscreen (oil-free) when going outside. This is working so far, will continue to pray!"

"Okay, so I was prescribed this about 5-6 days ago, and it has made my acne so much worse than it was before. My face has broken out everywhere other than underneath my eyes. Before using this, my face was 95% clear, I maybe had 3 pimples on a bad day. Now I have prob around 70 pimples on my face, and my chin is so dry it’s flaking off. I want to continue this lotion, but if it doesn’t get better in 7 days, then I’m stopping it."

"Do not take this!! Worst experience of my life. Made my acne 100X worse. Also made my face really red and greasy. Not effective AT ALL. I have no idea why my doctor would prescribe me this. Ruined my life, can't stand being seen like this. Try benzoyl peroxide. Much more effective. Dries out your skin, but an easy fix with lotion."

"I started getting acne after 13. I tried all sorts of home remedies till I turned 14. Then one of my friends just casually told me about this gel. I started using it immediately 'cause the skin was going too worse! It's not a miracle cure for sure! I mean, it won't clear your skin overnight, but yes, patience is required. After 2 weeks or so, I saw some results, and guess what? All my acne and their marks were gone with the continuous use of 2 or 3 months. I enjoyed my marks and pimple-free skin for a couple of months, but it was for just 5-6 months or so! I started getting them again. I increased the usage of this gel and it got worse. It totally stopped working on my skin. And made it badly worse. So use it, and once they are gone, please stop!"

"Highly recommend for mild acne. I was put on this to treat my mild hormonal breakouts. Within a couple of days, I had results! No redness, drying, or any effects. I wish I would have known about this years ago! Going to start my son on this also. I have the topical dabber. Works great!"

"HORRIBLE! I was prescribed this for acne. After a few days, my entire chest, back, and neck was red and covered in bumps and whiteheads. My skin is already oily, but this made it 100 times worse, and my face got extremely bad. After a week, I got prescribed an oral antibiotic, and it finally started helping clear up my body after a few days, but it took WEEKS for my skin to recover. Even now, I am still trying to get rid of the scarring it caused."

"I was pretty blown away with the results the clindamycin topical gel provided with a cyst. I have been experiencing hormonal acne ever since I entered into my 30s. My dermatologist suggested clindamycin to help reduce swelling and the severity of the acne since I didn't want to take a hormonal medication. Let me just say, WOW! I started developing a cyst (one of those painful ones deep in the skin) a week ago. I was so upset, as they usually take 3-4 weeks to shrink down. It's been 1 week of clindamycin application to my entire face, including the cyst, and it's pretty much gone. I had also had very slight hyperpigmentation, which is also an improvement. I did not pick or pry at the cyst to get these results. If you have cystic acne, this may be a good solution for you. I can't say yet whether it has been preventing cysts, but I do know that it speeds up the healing process!"
