For Urinary Tract Infection "Prescribed Cipro every 12 hours for a urinary infection, but only took 3 doses as my side effects felt terrible. I had the worst headache I've ever felt. It felt like there was so much pressure in my head that it could explode. My muscles started to ache, and my body would tingle. I had absolutely no energy, and felt like my brain wasn't even working, and like I was in a different body. Complete disconnect from reality. Trouble staying asleep at night, and just laid awake in pain. Back pain, neck stiffness, and my vision blurred. Worst thing I have ever experienced. Called my doctor before I was supposed to take the next dose to get something new and instantly felt better. Hoping this new one works without the side effects as I'm terrified to feel that way ever again."

It affects your DNA, and never leaves your body. My right leg went into a spasm, I couldn't walk for over a month! The tendons and ligaments in my ankles, knees, thumbs, neck, and back started cracking, which has caused a crippling effect to this day. All the toes in my left foot are numb. For Urinary Tract Infection "Despite all the side effects that are plaguing other users, I believe Cipro is worth a try - it is the most effective antibiotic I have been prescribed for UTI, and I experience little to no side effects. The only time I tried to take Macrobid, I experienced fever, nausea, muscle pain, dizziness, and had to call in sick to work last minute because I'd slept through the whole day prior. So considering alternatives, I trust Cipro for MY use."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Not a fan. Went to urgent care for a particularly painful UTI and was prescribed Cipro and immediately took the first dose. The plus side is it started working almost immediately. 24 hours later and I'm about 90% better already. However, after taking the second pill, I developed some slight nausea and then, several hours later, noticed some muscle pain in my calves and behind my knees, and it has now spread to my shoulders and wrists. After reading that Cipro can cause serious and permanent damage, I quit using it immediately and asked to be switched to a different antibiotic. Not worth it!"

For Diverticulitis "This works, but the side effects are horrible. Nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, right-side neck and shoulder pain and stiffness, mental fog, and general malaise. This medication has 'black box' warnings I was never told about, what a mess. Quitting after 5 days and hoping for the best. Nasty stuff! If there is an alternative, they should not even prescribe this stuff!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was put on Cipro to treat a urinary tract infection. I was already on a medication that suppressed my immune system, and even though the Cipro did wonders for my UTI, the side effects were unbearable. I was directed to take 1 250 mg tab twice daily for 3 days. I was only able to get through the first 2 days. The side effects ranged from what was a mild headache the first day to a severe headache the second day, accompanied by muscle pain, joint aches, shortness of breath, and even chest palpitations on the right side. I went in to see my doc, and he said to come off them because even though they worked well for my UTI, my body was clearly unable to tolerate the side effects. Overall, I say the medicine is very effective but is also strong, so beware of side effects."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I took Cipro a year ago for a urinary tract infection and had very little side effects. I just started taking Cipro again two days ago for another UTI, and this time it is making me miserable. I no longer have the symptoms of a UTI, but my muscles hurt, I feel tired, and I have had some diarrhea."

For Urinary Tract Infection "I'm a 25-year-old woman, and I was prescribed Cipro for a UTI. I got 250 mg twice daily for three days. I got this yesterday, and today I've taken three pills in total. I have a horrid fear of vomiting, I become suicidal when I think I'm going to be sick. So I'm very particular and paranoid about my antibiotics. I usually respond well to antibiotics, but not this! I didn't vomit, thank goodness, but three pills in and I'm lightheaded, light sensitive, bloated like no other, abdominal pain, and kind of nauseous, itchy, and muscle pain. Not to mention my anxiety is sky-high! I'm writing this before my current panic attack makes me unable to write. Hope these side effects leave and don't stay! Very paranoid!"

For Urinary Tract Infection "I was prescribed this medication for twice a day for 10 days, and on day 5, I had a tremor in my right hand, and right after, my right arm and leg went numb. It was horrifying to experience, especially because I am currently under getting a diagnosis if there is something wrong with my heart. So I didn't know if it was the pills or my heart until I started doing more research on the pill, and tremors were a serious side effect. Yes, I feel my UTI has gone away, but I would NOT take it again, and I am still currently taking them, but I'm going to talk with my doctor because I no longer want to use these drugs. Besides the tremor and numbness, I also became very tired, had headaches, muscle pains, and nausea. Truly terrible to feel this way. I do not recommend."

For Urinary Tract Infection "Prescribed this for a UTI that seemed resistant to Macrobid. I was feeling pretty sick and in constant pain after Macrobid didn’t work. Cipro seemed to kick in after about 28 hours or so of taking it (3 pills). I went from feeling like I could barely get out of bed to being able to work. Still have some pain, but I can function again. No side effects so far except feeling slightly tired/some muscle aches. After a week of feeling miserable, it’s nice to feel better."

For Prostatitis "I was prescribed Cipro for 45 days to combat a prostate infection. I had to stop taking it after about 40 days because I developed a dull pain with spasm in the kidney area. Laid awake the last few days with an odd headache and because of that discomfort. I can't attribute this change in health to anything but the Cipro. Deploying in 30 days, so no time to do testing. Hoping this will go away."
