For Depression "I am only on my 3rd day with Wellbutrin SR (150mg once a day for now) but I really feel good about this medicine already! I'm brand new to antidepressants but had been on Lexapro for 2 weeks prior to getting the Wellbutrin prescription, and I really did not like the Lexapro. With it, I had been having a headache every day, tense muscles, felt emotionally numb, was tired all the time, couldn't focus, and absolutely could not reach orgasm even having sex every day (which was extremely frustrating). Since switching 3 days ago, I have had more energy, more ability to focus, I feel happier about life as a whole, and I have been really productive with school work (I'm a college student). I also have noticed that I'm not feeling as hungry. Good feels."

This dopamine and norepinephrine (a stimulant) reuptake inhibitor can help and DRIVE without sexual side effects, weight gain, and apathy caused by SSRIs. Often prescribed with an SSRI to counteract side effects of it. Also, it is reported to have few side effects (unless you suffer from a seizure disorder that is). I recommend this over an SSRI or in addition to one."

For Depression "I credit Wellbutrin for my life. Started taking 150 mg Wellbutrin SR 15 years ago to combat the sleepy side effect of Prozac (taken for depression). About a year later, I dropped the Prozac (because of sexual side effects). The Wellbutrin is enough to keep me normal. Over the 14 years, I have tried 1: The no-name brand (almost a disaster - made me sleepy & more depressed - fortunately, I figured it out before getting suicidal) 2: The name brand long-acting version - again made me sleepy and more depressed. 3: Took 2 by accident once or twice - okay until it wears off, then withdrawal feeling/depressed. 4: Sometimes I take one in the afternoon (when I am unemployed and more depressed), this works pretty well provided I take it before 3 PM - or it keeps me awake."

For Bipolar Disorder "Been on Wellbutrin and Clonazepam since 1994 to treat my bipolar. I was put on Wellbutrin SR in 2000. Works very well for my condition. Feel very even-keeled and all my troubles evaporate in thin air. I don't feel irritable or obsessed over things like I used to. Side effects I have experienced. I have to be careful during the summer months when it's extremely hot. I get dehydrated very quickly. Drink lots of water and drinks with electrolytes. Decrease in sex drive due to vaginal dryness."

For Major Depressive Disorder "I have major depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. This medication helps motivate me, and it gives a slight boost for my moods. I tend to smile more now but still get depressed now and then. It has very little side effects, best thing is no sexual side effects! It also helps my anxiety, but I still have a hard time concentrating, which my doc says helps, but for me, it doesn't. It's just a mood stabilizer to me. I give it a 7 out of 10 because it only helps me slightly. I take 150 mg twice a day."

For Depression "I have been taking Wellbutrin SR 150 mg for five years. Have been doing really well, but here lately I have been really tired, low sex drive, wanting to eat when I am not hungry. Maybe I need an increase."

For Bipolar Disorder "I started taking Wellbutrin SR 4 days ago. I took it in addition to Seroquel XR. It helped for a couple of days. During those days, I only experienced some dizziness, decreased appetite, and sex drive. Although yesterday evening, I was hospitalized with a 5-minute-long grand mal seizure. I don't have a history of seizure disorders, and the doctors believe that this seizure was caused by Wellbutrin SR. If you take Wellbutrin SR and antipsychotics together, I suggest that you speak with your pharmacist or health provider."

Doc prescribed Wellbutrin, and it helped, but I was still experiencing sexual dysfunction. I had no trouble reaching orgasm, but it felt like nothing. There was a buildup, but no fireworks. Just a faint sense of relief from tension. I was cycled through buspirone, Remeron, and Trintellix before I gave up on SSRIs altogether. It's been two months on just Wellbutrin, and orgasms have gotten better, but they're still not what they were before medication. I'm going to continue taking it, but I'm concerned about the lasting effects from the SSRIs."
