For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Bisprolol 5mg has been amazing, changed my life, taking about 2-3 weeks to build up in your system. Beta blockers definitely reduce stress and how adrenaline impacts you. For example I can confidently talk in front of groups without anxiety, I also don’t have to spend as much time recovering from anxiety. I am generally more calmer overall and it’s helped me think much clearer. Beta2 blockers work by stopping adrenaline from working on the heart, which helps you feel calmer (reducing rate and contractility) So if your skeptical, like I was give it a try, I have no side effects although I do notice I don’t recover from exercise as fast. Which makes perfect sense, a small downside for various upsides."

For High Blood Pressure "Brought my blood pressure down from 170/110 to normal levels fairly quickly (under a week). However, started to notice side effects particularly fatigue, shortness of breath, weight gain and some loss of libido. Tried a 1/2 dosage for a week or so and symptoms dropped a little but not enough for my liking. Also, the blood pressure started to creep up with just a 1/2 dose. Although the drug was effective, I will probably seek an alternative med for my blood pressure."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "After hospitalized and diagnosed that I have SVT, I've been 30 days on Bisoprolol. During those 30 days I feel tired, feeling like want to take a deep breath and release it and at night when I am about go to sleep - once I lay my body on bed - I feel a strange in my chest. It's not SVT (heartbeat race). I can not describe it, but I know the feeling is never happen before I have Bisoprolol."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I have just been diagnosed with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation, after having violent palpitations. The hospital prescribed Bisoprolol 2.5. A week ago as my blood pressure was very high. I feel awful, depressed from the diagnoses, exhausted, breathless, dry mouth, nausea and my heart is heavy in my chest. Last night my heartbeats woke me up. They also prescribed apixaban blood thinners which I have not started after reading the dangerous side effects. My GP asked me to wait a few more days to see if my body adjusts. I hope it does as feeling like this is miserable"

For High Blood Pressure "I have been placed on bisoprolol 2.5mg, due to panic attacks and HBP. I have been on it for 3 weeks, it did a good job by lowering my irregular heart rate and the blood pressure have been a bit down but I noticed recently that my BP is getting back to 130/80. I need to see my cardiologist to see if I should increase to 5mg. I feel dizzy n sometimes can't concentrate fully."

For High Blood Pressure "Using this tablet for over 10 years due to irregular heart beat and blood pressure. A fantastic medicine which brought my blood pressure down to normal and fixed my heart beat to some extent I did not get any side effects ,may be a dry mouth but not certain. I have asked my doctor to reduce the dosage from 5 mg to 2.5 mg for past 6 month ,I feel great"

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "Started with atrial fibrillation aged 62. Prescribed metoprolol, and had weird side effects. Then severe aortic valve regurgitation, so had open heart surgery and new prosthetic valve. Left hospital on bisoprolol 5mg. Heart ejection fraction 18%. Following surgery, now walking at least 30 minutes, 7 days a week. Six months after hospital, bisoprolol increased to 10 mg daily. A year after surgery, HEF was at 60%. Fantastic."

For High Blood Pressure "Been taking 2.5mg bisoprolol for around 3 weeks. Previously was on Candesartan for many years but it probably contributed to renal function issues so trying these which hopefully will not affect my kidneys. So far, so good. No side effects and BP down to better levels (121/74 pulse 53) so maybe this is the one! Also tried at least 3 other types of medication but all gave me intolerable side effects (swollen ankles, urinary problems)."

Zebeta (bisoprolol) for High Blood Pressure "After 7 years of taking this medicine, it still works to reduce my blood pressure. If I go without it for 3 days or more, my heart gets sluggish, painful, and works too hard even if I am just sitting or laying down. It relieves most of the pain and the terrible headache"

For Heart Failure "At first, I was thrilled with the pills: they calmed the pulse, reduced fatigue, and I felt great. However, after two years of use, I realized that I was gaining weight, that I did not have the will to train, that I was actually getting tired very quickly without my heart rate exceeding 60 beats. I gradually stopped taking the pills and only then realized how sleepy and slow I was. I do not recommend this medicine to anyone, there may be better ones."

For Mitral Valve Prolapse "I was put on metoprolol (12.5 mg twice per day) after my heart attack three years ago. However, my cardiologist said that metoprolol was contraindicated for patients with asthma so he changed it to bisoprolol (2.5 mg once per day) because it was more cardio selective than metoprolol. I immediately noticed a big improvement in my exercise tolerance and heart rate while on the treadmill. Hope this helps anyone who is on asthma medications and is having trouble while exercising on metoprolol."

"After many times and lots of investigation at A and E I was put on bisoprolol. I’ve been on it for 3 years I take 2.5 ml. It’s stopped my ectopic beats but I still get them occasionally. I suffer terribly from a buzzing head, feeling dizzy, tiredness, and a low pulse. I don’t like how I feel on this med but not been offered any alternative."

For High Blood Pressure "So far I've noticed a major difference in my heart rate, which before at rest varied from 108-140, and now it varies from 70-105. As for my blood pressure before it used to be 135-160/90-111 and the lowest it's been so far is 132/87 so we are making improvement. I am a healthy active young 20 year old female so I really hope that my blood pressure is in the 115/70ish zone soon."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I got Bisoprolol 5mg after countless episodes of SVT (focal atrial tachycardia) runs up to 250 bpm. Unfortunately, they could not do the ablation. Since I am on Bisoprolol, I am doing pretty good. I rarely have runs anymore, and if I do, they only last a few seconds or minutes. For me, this medication changed my life. In the first few weeks, I had breathing issues and I was a bit dizzy. But now I do not have any side effects at all anymore. I can only recommend this medication if you have SVT."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I was prescribed bisprolol fumarate 2.5mg and first 8 days no reaction then I got stomach pains then lips swelled up then felt throat restriction. I went to my doctor and asked if I could use lesser dose he said no I was allergic to it and it took that long for it to show. Now three weeks later I am just feeling it is going out of my system I have had lots of heart booms and feeling really off very frightening I would never take them again my heart was feeling really strange. I have phoned the consultant who prescribed them but to date no reply although I left message. I have never had these feelings before the tablets and the heart going every now and again like a deep beat was quite alarming seems to be quietening down now."

For High Blood Pressure "One day I had problem with my breathing , so after medical intervention I needed Cardioversion of which I was given Bisoprolol. From the start of being on this I have had major itching and now having muscle spasms in my neck so as of now I am not taking said drug. The worst moment was when I started taking this drug my skin was so itchy that it made me feel like peeling my skin of my body - might be rare but that is my view."

For High Blood Pressure "I am pleased with the effects of this medication. I am on a low dose of 2.5 mg and use it in combination with an ACE inhibitor. I am now trying to just depend on the beta blocker- Bisoprolol. I appreciate that it has a slight anti-anxiety component as having sudden hypertension often brings with it, some anxiety."

For Supraventricular Tachycardia "I was put on 2.5mg of bisoprolol for episodes of SVT. It mostly calmed that down, but a gradually increasing side effect was allergic rhinitis. This started with a runny nose whilst exercising, and got steadily worse over a couple of months until I was sneezing constantly, the lining of my nose was red raw and swollen, and I had rivers of snot. It was incapacitating. I experimented with taking a double dose of the antihistamine cetirizine, which helped with the symptoms, but didn't know about the safety of taking the two combined, so rang the pharmacist, who advised me to ring the GP. After consultation, the GP has changed me onto atenolol. I haven't started it yet, but apparently bisoprolol is the only beta blocker that causes rhinitis, so am hoping it will be better than the bisoprolol."

For High Blood Pressure "Terrible experience. Within ninety minutes of taking 2 mg dose, severe palpitations and pain around left pectoral and left shoulder. Significant discomfort lasted for around four hours. Stopped taking completely after two days. Previously on Metoprolol 50 mg daily, with no similar adverse effects, other than cold feet and hands after 6 weeks of medication. Male, 55 to 60 years."

"Taking this for a number of years and it made me feel lethargic, and did not fully stop my arrhythmia. Started taking Ginseng a year ago and now feel great! Lethargy is gone and so is arrhythmia, almost totally. Told my Dr. about it - and he said nothing but did make a note about it. My theory is that Bisoprolol slows the heart and reduces blood pressure. Ginseng raises your metabolism and sort of restores balance. In any event - it sure works for me."
