For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I'm at day 7 of taking this med, and day 6 and 7 were the hardest by far. At the beginning of taking this med, I just had bloating and abdominal pain (manageable) and dark stool, but during day 5, the nausea started, and it became so severe on day 7 that I had to talk to my doctor. The doctor recommended me to take motilinium and to decrease the dosage to 3 times per day instead of 4. Currently, the nausea is kinda better. Wish me luck to push through these bad days. Stay strong."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Pylera eradicated my H. Pylori infection. Apparently, I had a horrible case for many years, and this worked. I had tried other drugs in the past, and nothing worked until this. It's rough, though! I think I had every side effect, and the 9th day was the worst, but you have to push through! My tricks - eating larger meals before taking it, and yes, you will always feel bloated and full. Also, sucking on fruit-flavored Tic Tacs helped the nausea. Something I learned - sugar, caffeine, chocolate, and salt feed this bacteria, so I tried to steer clear of these things. I heard vitamin C, grapefruit, and a probiotic keep it away, so I incorporated these into my diet while taking Pylera. I had a pretty aggressive case, but it's gone!!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I completed the 10 days of Pylera on September 18. The first few days were not too bad, though like others think, the sheer number of pills each day is inconvenient and overwhelming---especially when you take other meds as well. On or about the 4th day, things changed. I was able to go to work, but the last 6 days were really hard: explosive diarrhea, headaches, bloat, gas, extreme fatigue, irritability, inexplicable crying bouts, and loss of appetite. I felt a bit better the first few days after the medication was finished, but now one week later, I am still experiencing the side effects! I feel worse than when I started the meds. When does it stop? Please share experiences."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "My experience with this medication has been awful. I'm on my 10th day, but I have missed 5 doses. This medication made me so sick I had to go to the emergency room. Severe headache, nausea, bloating, black stool, and urine. You are supposed to eat with it, but I couldn't because of the bloating. Which in turn made me sick because I wasn't eating. I have completely stopped taking the medication in the hopes that the H. Pylori is gone."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Horrible experience! First half of treatment was manageable but not pleasant. Day 8 was by far the hardest, with extreme nausea, dizziness, heart flutters, bloat, and the usual diarrhea. For day 9, I battled with the thought of taking the pills for an hour. I felt like I was playing Russian roulette. Sitting here waiting for the agony. Day 10 can't get here soon enough! However, I'm thinking anyone who has undergone chemotherapy must think I'm such a wimp!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I’m on my 2nd day, and I feel like quitting. My whole body is aching, and I have sleepless nights. My stomach is inflamed and bloated. I'm having headaches. I noticed some blood in my urine and blood in my stool. I don’t have access to my gastrologist because he's fully booked. I can only see him in a month's time. I have to see a GP to explain to him the side effects because I feel like it’s not working on me. I’ve used metronidazole before, and it doesn’t really work on me. I hope my body is not resistant to it. I’m just praying for strength because I’m not sure if I can pull through. I wish I had read these reviews before starting the meds."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "H. pylori. (13.00) Pylera 4x3 + omeprazole 2x1 for 10 days. All doses were taken at the same time 6-7 am/12 pm/6 pm/12 am. Days 1-3 were insane. The nausea - exorcism-like!! I cut all the dairy, multivitamins, products high in calcium and iron. No alcohol. No cigarettes or vaping, which as a smoker I had no cravings at all. Pills after meals and with a little bit of food, it helped to ease the nausea slightly. Was afraid it could affect the treatment. I made sure I was not laying down for 10 mins post-pills. Currently day 9, most symptoms became better after day 5. However, then I felt very exhausted mentally and physically and nearly cried every time taking pills, even when symptoms were not as bad as at the beginning. Over the 9 days, I had many changing side effects: nausea, muscle contractions, dark stools, back and chest rash, sweating, lightheadedness, fever, loss of appetite, sadness, sensitivity to noises and light, fatigue, sour taste, and bloating that never went away :/"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I took 2 antibiotics 2 months ago, and the test was still positive. The doctor prescribes Pylera. I am on day 9. I was so scared to start after I read all the reviews. My side effects are fine, some nausea sometimes, dark urine, and very dark and soft stool. On day 5, I ate nachos with cheese, and I was so ill with nausea. Then I stopped eating dairy food at all, and it’s much better. I still have bloating. Hope Pylera killed the bacteria, and when I test again, it’s negative. Good luck, everyone."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Discovered I had H. pylori on an endoscopy and had really no side effects except for a sore throat, which I thought was unrelated. Started Pylera and was fine with few to no symptoms until days 5-8. I experienced spasms in my stomach and intestines, had bowel movements after every meal, and then felt weak, dizzy, and foggy. Next came extreme soreness, bloatedness, and gray teeth, so I called the doctor, and she said to stop. I only made it 8 days or 31 doses. I’m worse now than what I started with. Praying it worked."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I just stumbled upon this site and gladly so. I recently had an endoscopy performed, and the biopsy revealed H. Pylori bacteria. What the heck is that? How did I get it, and how long have I had it? Thought I was having liver pain, no gallbladder issues, no hiatal hernia, or pancreatitis! What I have is this creepy bacteria that has caused erosive ulcers in my stomach and duodenum area, along with rings in my esophagus that have caused me to have spasms while swallowing. Then bloating and abdominal cramping began at the latest stage. The GI doc prescribed Pylera, and I have now taken 2 doses with 28 more to go! Will let you all know how I do."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Just finished 10 days of Pylera. This is my second treatment in the past few months for H. pylori after it coming back 2 weeks after finishing triple treatment. Well, this has to be the worst medicine I've ever been prescribed in my life. I was bloated the first few days and looked 6 months pregnant. It got worse... the symptoms that followed were insomnia, itchiness everywhere, especially my nose, anxiety, racing heart, weight gain, mood swings, and just a general feeling of not feeling with it. I'm still bloated 4 days after I've finished and don't feel great."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "On my 5th day of treatment. The bloating and discomfort in my stomach are pretty intense. I hope I can follow through with my course of medication. My doctor did not mention taking a probiotic while on medicines. I will ask tomorrow and hope I get an answer. I have already called once asking if this feeling is from the medication or the upper endoscopy."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I feel like I have been poisoned. Even though people react differently to every medication, I'm sure this one beats all bad side effects by a long way. After having H. pylori, I began with Pylera treatment for 10 days... couldn't get through it for more than 7 days as my health started taking a heavy toll. Headaches, mood swings, bloating, painful constipation, extreme fatigue, chills, and then I stopped when I had a hives allergic attack, which obliged me to stop working. I'm an otherwise healthy 32-year-old who has had her life turned upside down by Pylera. After stopping treatment, I noticed I had developed an oral thrush due to antibiotics killing my intestinal flora and was sick in bed. Be warned as to the bad side effects and look for natural remedies!"

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Finished my 10-day treatment a couple of days ago. Before starting with Pylera, I read all these reviews to know what to expect from side effects. Mine were dark stools, dark urine, upset stomach/intestine, bloated for 1-2 days, headache, dizziness, weakness. No diarrhea or vomiting. I always had full healthy meals and some snacks before bedtime, avoided milk and similar, as well as spicy food, juice, etc. I still feel somewhat weak, but nothing compared to during the treatment. Let's see what the outcome of the stool exam is. Good luck, all."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I didn't like taking this medicine. Felt anxious. Very nauseous in the morning and lightheaded. Been off for six days, and I am bloated and very gassy. Is this normal? I hope it worked, it's my third attempt. Two prevpac failed."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Took a 14-day course, changed my diet to only organic fruits and veggies, no sugar, no box or packaged products, took probiotics with every meal. Experience the following: Day 1 - mild headache for 2 min. Day 2 - dark urine in the morning and tingle in the foot. Day 3 - dark urine in the morning, dizziness in the evening. Day 4 - back pain, tingling scalp. Day 5 - sore right shoulder. Day 6 - bloat after eating. Day 7 - bloat. Day 8 - headache nonstop, slight chest pain, but lots of energy. Day 9 - slight chest pain, but lots of energy. It does get better after a few months. Now I have gotten rid of the bacteria. My only side effects are slight chest pain, possibly costochondritis from inflammation, some neck pain. Keep faith, I'm 80 percent healed."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Do not take this stuff. I repeat, do not take this stuff. Before I took the medicine, I used to get epigastric pain maybe once a month. I finished the treatment. No issues for the first 8 days or so. But on the 10th day, my tongue became white due to the medicine killing all the bacteria. But after a couple of weeks, the tongue is okay. But here is the real issue. Now I have epigastric pain almost continuously, although I finished my medication a month ago. Constant bloating and belching. Also, I am taking two pantoprazole tablets. Otherwise, the heartburn is horrible. But this makes you feel that the food is not getting digested. So it’s a horrible mess. I am much worse off than before. I don’t know when the nightmare will end. I am sure the doctor is getting kickbacks for prescribing this poison. My PHP was upset I took this poison. He was sure I didn’t need this."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I tested positive for H. pylori on a blood test with results past the scale in 2013. I took the amoxicillin and clarithromycin with bismuth and Protonix for 14 days. I never had a test afterward due to no insurance, so I don't know if it was eradicated. Fast forward to May 2019, EDG showed negative for H. pylori, so they took my gallbladder out. I still had symptoms off and on since 2013. Fast forward to now, May 2022. I had another EDG due to recurring symptoms. EDG pathology showed negative, but the CLO test showed positive. I started the Pylera 5 days ago, and it has been nothing but a nightmare! Day 1, I immediately felt exhausted and nauseated. I wasn’t able to eat much prior due to extreme bloating and nausea. Each day since has just continuously gotten worse. Whole body aches, exhausted, brown urine, black poop (what little I am pooping due to not being able to eat), headaches, weak as if I have the flu. I’m taking the 3 capsules of Pylera every 4 hours with two 40 mg Protonix daily. I’d rather die than take this again."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "40 years young female. I consider myself an average, slightly overweight but generally healthy woman who exercises 3 days a week. Before starting with Pylera and Creon, I read all these reviews about H. pylori bacteria. On meds now, 8th day. Side effects terrible day 1-2, vomiting, uncomfortable, uneasy. Felt everything was dirty, cleaned entire house and laundry. Day 2-4: loss of appetite, extreme bloat, sleepless nights. Terribly tired, everything smells. Mood swings, heart palpitations, stools, dark urine, upset/pain stomach/intestine, bloated, headache, dizziness, weakness. I always had healthy meals: jello and yogurt. I still feel somehow weak, but nothing compared to 1-5. Still can't sleep, and the copper taste is worse, but I have intestinal pain."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "I am on my 5th day of this drug treatment, and it has been hard. People say don't read the negative reviews before you start the treatment, but for me, it was helpful to know what to expect. The first 2 days were okay. But from day 3, I have been experiencing most of the side effects: nausea, vomiting, loose stools, stomach pain, bitter and sour taste in my mouth, chills, fatigue, foggy head, and bloating. I am sure only some people experience these symptoms, but I wonder if these side effects are, after all, just effects, not side effects. Sort of like going through chemo. For those who start the medication, please make sure to get off work and stay home! 5 more days to go, and I will stick to it."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Currently on my 6th day of the treatment and it's the worst! Bloating, nausea, and diarrhea... can't wait until this nightmare ends. I have not been able to work for 5 days already due to this medication. Once you start the treatment, you can't stop it. For the diarrhea, I was told I cannot take any Imodium, which is worse. Good luck, people. Hope we all can survive this nightmare and move on..."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "On my 9th day today, and I haven’t seen any improvement. Constantly feeling bloated and feeling full (early satiety) right after eating a small meal. I also feel exhausted and headachy at times, but not constantly. It’s difficult to eat before taking Pylera because I don’t feel like eating at all. Do NOT take this medicine on an empty stomach, I did it before going to bed and woke up dizzy and vomited acid. I force myself to eat a banana, 3 dates, and gluten-free toasted bread in the morning and take the medicine (I feel limited on what I can eat). I also take omeprazole twice a day (30 mins before food in the morning and evening). I do hope I start feeling better after finishing the medication. The doctor mentioned next would be an endoscopy, as I also took amoxicillin before Pylera and it didn’t work at all (I thought that I might have resistance against it, and that’s why the doctor put me on Pylera)."

For Helicobacter Pylori Infection "Due to H. pylori, I had bloating, indigestion, gas, nausea, some change in bowel movements, stomach pain/cramping/gnawing, acid reflux/heartburn, etc. With Pylera, I had terrible nausea and trouble eating, my whole body was very achy, and I felt totally drained while on Pylera. I took some sick leave and teleworked on worst days. I was regimented about taking the medication on time: 7-7:15 am, 12:15-12:30 pm, 5:15-5:30 pm, 10:15-10:30 pm. That definitely helped. I re-tested 1 month later and no longer have H. pylori. After Pylera, I still had burning/gnawing in my stomach, heartburn, bloating, and trapped gas. Damage done by H. pylori can take at least 2-3 months to heal. I went the natural remedy route: 1) acupuncture, 2) Slippery elm, 3) fresh cabbage juice (this was most helpful). I also decided to temporarily remove coffee, alcohol, spicy food, citrus, tomatoes, chocolate, red meat, and dairy from my diet."
