For Migraine Prevention "I've had migraines for 8 years and have been on many pharmaceuticals for prevention and rescue. I started Qulipta 60 mg a month ago and immediately on starting, I had chest pains that went into my back and shoulder. I tried taking a smaller dose, 30 mg and 15 mg, and still had the chest/back/shoulder pain. I was also extremely fatigued, and my blood pressure shot up. I had a few medical appointments, and my blood pressure was 190/80. I visited my GP, who is easier to get in to see than my Neuro. She did an exam and an EKG and noted that it was not normal. I have a stress test scheduled for next month. I stopped taking it 2 days ago, and the chest pain was instantly reduced by 80%. It's slowly going down the rest of the way. This is not listed as a side effect even though I know a few people who have had this problem. Please be careful with this drug. I never had heart problems before this, and I hope that the damage is not permanent."

For Migraine Prevention "Ease of use: Very easy, if you can swallow pills; Dosage: 60mg tablets once daily. Benefits: None. Side effects: Mood altering (made me extremely angry), Constant feeling of hunger (even after eating), Extreme fatigue (That's saying something because I also have narcolepsy). Provided no relief of the migraines, actually felt worse taking the medications. I felt it was not worth taking Qulipta due to the added side effect and the lack of help it provided. I was told by my doctor that 'those aren't known side effects' and to give it another try. I had originally been taking the medication during the day, decided maybe taking it at night might make a difference. I started the medication, at night, the next morning, the fatigue was overwhelming, extremely hungry, and about 2 hrs later I became extremely angry. Contacted the doctor, stopped taking the medication. Since stopping, my mood has regulated back to normal (no longer angry), no hunger pains, narcolepsy back under control."

For Migraine Prevention "I have been on Qulipta for 17 days so far, and I haven't had a migraine yet! I suffer from chronic migraines - I get about 14-20 migraines a month. I have tried many different preventative drugs, and I have never been able to tolerate the side effects. So far, I have mild constipation, itching, mild hives, and my feet and hands are swollen. I can probably handle these, but it seems as if the fatigue that comes with this drug is getting worse. I am hoping this will subside, because I truly enjoy not having a migraine."

For Migraine Prevention "Started 60 mg of Qulipta for chronic migraines post-COVID. Day 7, I can hardly function. Severe fatigue and anxiety and nausea. I can't tell any difference yet on the effectiveness of preventing migraines. I will try to not give up yet, but my blood pressure is also elevated."

For Chronic Migraine "Have been taking Qulipta 60 mg nightly for the past 5 months for chronic migraines. Prior to this medication, 3-5 migraines per week. Now 1 or 2 times a month, mild migraines, usually with fast-changing weather conditions. Extreme fatigue has been the side effect. Trying an improved diet and increased exercise to try and counter fatigue."

For Chronic Migraine "I have been taking Qulipta now for about 5 months. It has been a game changer. I was having around 15 migraines a month, and now I have 1 in 5 months. My main side effect is extreme fatigue. I have to work through that because tiredness is better than migraines. It has gotten a little easier every month."

For Migraine Prevention "Qulipta was prescribed to me for migraine headaches. I have headaches that vary according to a pain scale of 4-9 about an average of 12 times a month, with auras of both photophobia and photophobia, numbness and tingling in my face, body fatigue, nausea, and dizziness. Qulipta has helped diminish the headaches but also caused me to be extremely tired and dizzy from time to time. I was officially put on the highest dosage (60 mg) of Qulipta in the beginning, and the neurologist lowered the dose to (30 mg). The higher dosage of 60 mg caused me to not be able to function. I would sleep for 3-4 days straight, I would not be hungry or thirsty during that time because I was sleeping all the time. Pulling back on the dosage to 30 mg daily has helped me greatly. I have not been taking Qulipta for very long. I hope this continues to work. One other problem that I have with Qulipta is $$$. I had to go through many different medications before approval by my insurance company."

For Migraine Prevention "I am taking Qulipta as a replacement for Fioricet. It works, though not as well. It also has more side effects, causing significant fatigue, constipation, and nausea. I am hoping that the side effects lessen after taking Qulipta for a bit longer as I have only been on it 2-3 weeks. If the side effects do not reduce, the limited benefit of somewhat reduced headache intensity and frequency will not outweigh the detriment of the side effects."

For Chronic Migraine "I have been a chronic migraine sufferer for years, getting at least one a day, sometimes 2-3. I have been receiving nerve blocks and Botox for six months, with little to no effect. I have done all of the CGRP injections, and none of them were effective. Started 60 mg Qulipta three days ago and haven't had so much as the beginning of a migraine. I have learned not to be too hopeful about any treatment, but this one has me excited. No side effects thus far, other than mild fatigue and a small decrease in appetite."

For Migraine Prevention "Reduced the frequency and intensity of my migraines by about 30%. Only side effects are a minor amount of fatigue and loss of appetite."

For Migraine Prevention "Didn’t do anything but make me constipated, fatigued, and depressed. Took it for migraine aura treatment (I get frequent visual auras). Not sure why a CGRP inhibitor would help that subtype of migraine but alas. I was completely constipated for days - literally couldn’t go despite Miralax, prunes, etc. I was extremely fatigued and also dealt with depressive symptoms that aren’t typical for me. Not a pleasant experience. In my opinion the long term safety profile of these drugs should be studied further before they are prescribed en masse. Clearly blocking CGRP has many effects on the body besides just migraine (which didn’t even work for me)."
