Will tramadol test positive in a urine drug test as an opiate?

As of August 18, 2014,Tramadol is considered a controlled substance in all 50 states.

Where do you people get your information from. Tramadol will NOT show on a drug screen unless they are testing for it specifically. Again tramadol will NOT show up on a drug-screen unless they are testing for tramadol!!!

Had a 5 panel uds for a new job- it tested positive for opioids & pcp (never did illegal drugs ever!)
So they had to send it out- got called today by the medical review officer and was asked to list the prescribed meds that I was on- when I told them tramadol- she said "that's it" and asked for the prescription number and the pharmacy #. In Tennessee, Tramadol is a controlled substance.

i have herd more than once that is dose not BUT Iam not 100 percent.

well i know first hand cause my probation officr showed up at my home today and did a 5 panel drug screen and I told them I was gonna test positive for tramadol and they assured me it would not show up and I stood right there and watched them read it and no it did not show up

No they would have to do a special test I've been tested a few times for my job and they where always good

Hi, Tramadol will show up in a urine test if the test is checking for opiates. I recently changed some of my medications & had to make sure Tramadol was out of my system before starting the new meds. It still showed up 4 days after my last dose!

I had a drug test last year and passed it without any problem. At that time I was taking 400mg of tramadol per day. I guess it depends on the drug test panel. Make sure you list it before you take the test.
