I took 45mg. of meloxicam so what do I need to know and look out for?

My dentist prescribed me Acetaminophen codeine #3 tablets, I am to take one tab every 8 hours. I took my first one over an hour ago and have no relief. It is for my serious cavity/headache pain. I have read for some people this med doesn't work.
