Can I drink alcohol while drinking macrobid
Hi bonnie... - As with any anti-biotic, you may be able to drink alcohol, but its probably best to avoid drinking alcohol to get the full effect of the Macrobid. I've had wine before when on Macrobid for a Urinary Tract Infection, and it didn't seem to work as well, and took longer to get rid of the critter. However, lots of cranberry juice worked great! I found the following quote on a site about this med., "ask your doctor about the safe use of alcohol while you are taking this medication. Alcohol can make the side effects of nitrofurantoin worse." SO, as Laurie says, it may not matter with your own body, but just another thought to consider. Good luck! J.
Hey bonniebonita,
There are no results found for an interaction between macrobid and alcohol. I don't believe alcohol will affect the efficacy of the macrobid. To be most safe consult your pharmacist.
