I have been told I have streptococcus agalactiae (10,000) and am on Microbid but I understand that penicillin is the best drug for this. Should I ask a doctor t change my medicine? I am not allergic to penicillin.

No, its not. Your dr has a culture and that has the medications that will be the best for the infection. If when you're done with the macrobid, and you're still having problems ask about penicillin.
Thx so much! I will definitely ask if the problem doesn't go away. I don't like the side effects on this Macrobid. I feel like it should have worked faster like a "cillian" would. I am a proponent for drugs that you know will work instead of ones that "may" work. Again, thanks!
