I have taken risperidone (0.5mg) for 12 days out of 21 now. Should I have felt some effects by now or does it take longer? Or is it subtle?
I understand its a low dosage though.
PS I meet my doctor in 9 days from now to talk about my treatment. But I don't know if he will continue the treatment or not.

Hi, Yux! It takes 6-8 weeks to feel the full effects although many people may feel some improvement within 2-3 weeks. And yes it will be subtle improvement ~ no bells and whistles going off one day. Many people don't even notice it until they suddenly realize how much better they are.
Your doctor may have used a small trial dose to be sure you tolerate the drug with no bad side effects and may raise your dosage if you have none. The usual dose is 2-3mg so your doctor is being appropriately cautious.
