I had a physical last year the doctor placed me on Flomax and Avodart both, the doctor told me one of them takes six months to shrink things in the prostartate down and the other medication works sooner in order to keep the Urine moving, I did not experience side effects, my concern for you is I tell you what the doctor told me sometimes the prostrate enlarges enough until they have to put and indwelling catheter in, so if at all possible I would take the medication or at least talk to your doctor before you discontinue the Flomax I want the very best for you
People, it is Prostate NOT Prostrate.
Thank you.
I have been on .4 mg QD of flomax for 5 years and just stopped because of back and hip pain. After 1 week things seem okay with the exception of more frequent urination. I didn't consult my Dr. Hoping all will be well with my health, any feedback ?
Hey michael nobles,
After reviewing the literature, I don't believe you should be having any side effects at this point unless your referring to your initial symptoms. What exactly are these side effects? If you decide to start the Flomax again please consult the doctor as your dosage will need to be adjusted down possibly from what you were taking. Please consult the prescribing doctor if the symptoms you are having persist.
Best wishes,
Laurie
My internist and pain magmt doctor are one in the same she said to avoid probelsm recurring that you continue to use Flomax and I told you I use Avodart as well. I mentioned about stopping and she said she had one patient that had 24/7/365 days worth of a catheter and that she made it a mission to make sure men at the age of 50+ should be aware the prostrate can enlarge and if not treated there is always the possibility of having to wear a catheter, I have found market improvement and I intend to follow instructions because I sure don't want to have a catheter all the time, I had lost my urge to want to void my prostrate was so enlarged I am one of the lucky ones please talk with your doctor
