Would gabapentin show up in urine drug screening when sent to the lab?

While on probation, taking UA 482-11 panel and took up to 1000 mgs daily, NEVER tested positive for a controlled substance as gabapentin/ Neurontin is not a scheduled drug. Metabolites would be the concern as they are present in the body for some time after ingestion. But the test must specifically test for the drug (which is not common).

If they are looking for it, it will but most drug screens are looking for controlled substances and gabapentin is not a controlled substance so chances are they may not look for it. One exception could be pain management. They may look for the presence of the drug. Employers, probably not.

But if you're being tested for drugs of abuse, gabapentin wouldn't matter if it showed.
