Similar medications to the one in question, used for treating ADD/ADHD specifically in my particular case, sometimes shows up on a urine drug screen as an “amphetamine”, such as Adderall for example. If for some reason the pharmacy filled my Rx with Ritalin which the generic name for that being Methylphenidate Hydrochloride, Is it possible in any way at all that this could’ve been the cause of a positive urine drug screen that showed up as methamphetamines vs the amphetamine like what Adderall shows up as?
What does methylphenidate hydrochloride show up as on a urine tested drug screening?

Answers
Hi, Jlskaggs!
It would be highly unusual as most laboratories have reported no cross-reactivity between methylphenidate and any form of amphetamine.
If in doubt about a positive result ask if the test was specifically for the presence of methylphenidate and not amphetamines.
So, yes, anything's possible but it's highly unlikely.

"In our laboratory, cross reactivity of methylphenidate has never caused false-positive results in hundreds of authentic, routine urine samples from patients treated with methylphenidate that were screened for amphetamines by enzyme multiplied immunoassay technique (EMIT, Siemens Health Care Diagnostics). Siemens found no cross reactivity for methylphenidate (at 1,000 ng/mL), as stated in the EMIT II Plus amphetamine assay instructions for use.
There is, to our knowledge, only a single report by Manzi et al. describing cross reactivity of methylphenidate in amphetamine assays"
