Does anyone else feel worse in the morning and then come good late afternoon?
I'm on 20mg and I take it 7-7:30am
Thank you to those who are sharing their positive experiences. It honestly is only what is keeping me on the medication.

5 weeks since I started.
Hi, mama!
Have you recently had a dosage increase from 10mg or did you start at 20mg?
Your metabolism is still adjusting to the medication and this phase is sometimes referred to as the "roller coaster" effect. Feeling better or worse during the day and even for days sometimes. But at 5 weeks you should be leveled out very soon and feeling much better all the time.
Are you seeing improvements otherwise? If you don't feel like you're making progress be sure to let your doctor know.
I took escitalopram for over 7 years and it was life changing for me. Be patient and stay positive. It can take 6-8 weeks to feel the full benefits of the medication and anxiety is somewhat slower to respond than depression.
Best regards and I think you'll be fine.
Thank you for your reply,
Started on 10mg then went to 20mg a week and a bit later. Yesterday was 4 weeks on 20mg. I wake up between 4-5 am really restless, I have restless legs and feel agitated. Then come lunch time I start feeling a bit better. I feel the depression has eased its just the agitation in the mornings.
I fall asleep fine.
I just want to feel like me again. I have 2 kids 4 yrs and 2 yes old. They need their mum back.
My Dr has just prescribed Quetiapine 25mg to take at night to see if it helps with my mornings. Have you had any experience with this medication?
Yes. I take it for sleep and depression and I like it a lot. You may feel slightly "hung over" for the first few mornings but it really could ease up the morning situation.
Good luck with it... I hope it helps you.
Thank you for your reply.
I'm a little nervous to take it as I haven't heard much about taking lexapro with it.
It's so comforting chatting with people who have been in my shoes.
That's why we're here. To ask questions and share experiences and information because we ALL have been in your shoes.
Keep up the good work and best of luck to you. If you have more concerns feel free to post them!
Thank you so much
