I'm going on 5 months of having epipdidymitis... already been to a urologist, I've had the ultrasound and been on antibiotics 3x's. I'm confused and feel like I'm being defeated. Plz Help
I do not have any STD'S... pain does decrease when I lay down. Urologist keep telling me there's nothing wrong but yet I still have discomfort and pain.
Does epididymitis ever go away?

Hey guys. Just wanted to say that i have been following this a long time and after three years i found my reason for pain. The doctors couldnt figure out my testicle pain because it radiated from my hip. It might be your reason as well. Ask for a MRI of your hip looking for hip dysplasia, and also of the spine in case of some plates causing nerve damage. Good luck to all my testicle brothers.
Ive tried antifungal pills and antibiotics to include cipro, doxy, and a zpack. Cipro did nothing, the antifungal pills did nothing, the doxy showed some relief but did not last long when I stopped taking it, and the zpack was a joke. Im currently trying to take the herbal pill route after doing some research. Cherry pills, turmeric, oregano, garlic pills, horsetail pills. Ive also trimmed my pubic hair to allow my testicles to feel cooler. I believe the issue may also be a skin infection that has caused this issue. I have used a generic jock itch spray that has helped relieve the condition and the pain. I decided to try the ibuprofen regiment as well which has helped but read you should stop taking after a few days. After this few weeks regiment I will revisit my doctor and ask for a intravenous antibiotic shot or parental antibiotics followed by a triple course antibiotic therapy. If that doesn't work im going to try other options.
Ive had sex since developing this condition a year ago but recommended using protection until you can be absolutely sure what you have is not contagious. At the current moment I feel okay, but I accept the pain may return if left untreated or I become lackadaisical. Good luck all.
Look the comment below. I had rotated hips. I saw a pelvic pain specialist and after the first visit I wanted to hug her.

I have had epididymitis since the start of September this year. It started with urethritis GUM clinic detected an infection but couldn’t pin point it to anything specific so said could be from strain or cycling of which I do long distances.
I tested for 10 STD infections but came back negative for all so the gum clinic washed their hands of me.
Started with 7 days doxy which took urethritis away but testicle pain in right side remained then had 10 days of oflaxacin which did actually get rid of testicle pain for about 3 weeks before it came back with a vengeance!
The doctor has given me another 7 days of doxycycline but I’m very skeptical!
I’m now experiencing pain a lot as I have a desk job but does seem to be less painful when lying down.
Have purchased the sovereign silver as suggested so will try that and report back!
Take colloidal silver. Sovereign silver. 3 tbsp a day. It helps a lot
How long does it take to work?
By day 3-4 my pain was gone. But I took 3 tbsp for 3 weeks. Because I had it for like 3 years so I wanted to make sure it was gone. It came back after a week with no silver but it wasn’t that bad. This was back in August/September. Today I don’t feel anything, the only time I feel pain is if I were to touch it too hard or itch the testicle directly inside the sack. I might take another brand of colloidal silver if it bothers me. But it really does help man. Chronic epididymitis is almost impossible to cure, but I’ve made it almost go away. I don’t think about it 24/7 anymore, i can live my life normally for once. I’m 22 by the way
Cool I’m on day 2 of the silver. I’ve been taking 3 half droppers full 3 times a day. I am on the doxycycline too figured I had nothing to lose in taking it even if it didn’t do anything last time.
My pain is intermittent but enough to be bothersome.
Thanks for your info I will keep you posted.
I am on day 3 of the silver and day 3 of doxycycline my sperm tube is really painful today and I have just felt and it is very swollen to touch on the right side which is where the pain started. Until I started the above the pain was intermittent but is a dull ache constantly now.
Yeah the pain comes in waves. What kind of silver are you using? How much ppm? Don’t worry about the pain, don’t think about it too much. Just keep taking the silver. If the doxy isn’t doing anything don’t bother taking it, I took doxy for 4 weeks with 0 results so focus on the silver imo
Hi everybody. I've always wanted to find a group who had the same problem as me but i never gave it a shot. But i first got chlamidiah infection in may 5th 2010 i remember the exact day because it destroyed my whole life. I got chlamidiah infection. That day i went to the doctors and got prescribed one dose of zithromax. The chlamidiah went away. But the next day i had testicle pain. I went to a urologist and was diagnosed with epididymitis. He have me doxycycline and anti inflammatory pills and told me to elevate my testicles and take warm baths. But nothing helped and i remained in constant pain in both testicles. I am now 25 years old in my prime years of my life and i haven't found no solutions. I feel like my only purpose on earth is to find a cure somebody. I made another urology appointment on January 2nd 2019. If anybody knows of a doctor i should go to for my problem or any meds to take or can guide me towards recovery id really appreciate it.
Everyday is a struggle to live. I've trained my brain to be as optimistic as possible but to feel like your being constantly kicked in the testes EVERYDAY makes you want to give up.
The silver never worked I took it for a month. So I went back to a different doctor who was very sympathetic and explained the condition properly. He has prescribed me ciprofloxacin 500mg which is a higher dose than ofloxacin, twice a day for 28 days. I am on day 4 and it feels much better so I am confident this may be the winning formula.
@antman. I’m surprised it didn’t help, I had the same meds prescribed to me and same results. Cipro cures it but only for a couple of weeks or less. Same with the doxycycline I took. The cipro I got was for 6 weeks. After 2 weeks it came back and I got side effects that were worse than the epididymitis so be careful, cipro is a dangerous drug, look it up. What kind of silver did you use? It should’ve helped
Bring report back have you find break through
Well the cipro relieved the symptoms but they came back :(
I do seem to get more pain at work and I have a desk job so im unsure if it’s posture related. I have herniated two discs weight lifting 6 years ago so unsure if its related to that.
I have been referred to see a urologist as my gp is not prepared to give me any more antibiotics.
The only antibiotic I have never had is azithromycin, could this work? I am tempted to try it in case chlamydia has got inside my epididymis although I have tested negative for all stds.
I saw online that the pain in my scrotum could be caused by tight muscles in my back and gluteals/hips. I purchased a lacrosse ball and followed some online videos this actually got rid of the pain I had for two weeks! I am a cyclist but since I had been getting this pain I had stayed off the bike. However since I had no pain for two weeks I went for 4 small rides last week and the pain is back. So I definately feel like my issue is related to my previous back issues. I have the urologist in 4 weeks if that comes back as negative I will see a chiropractor.
So there is hope for you out there yet, as I definately do not think it is an infection if it went away by itself and now came back.
I think I may have had a breakthrough!
I’ve been suffering with scrotal pain since August last year, I’ve tried everything antibiotics wise as you will see and been to the doctors numerous times. It started with urethritis and then I had scrotal pain which would not go away. So the doctors have put 2 and 2 together and treated me for epididymitis. I was at my wits end and I’m due to see the urologist in 3 weeks time but I’m keeping my appointment to be on the safe side.
Any way I realised that the pain in my scrotum came around a month after I stopped cycling (I had been cycling approx 100 miles per week) until this point. So I googled exercises for scrotal pain. There is a video online and all you need is a £3 massage ball and if you run through the exercises. There should be a point in between your hip bone and gluteus that will hurt like crazy but keep going through the pain! I do these exercises twice a day and haven’t had pain for a week now and the tender spot no longer feels tender with the ball!
If the urologist finds nothing I’m going to find a good chiropractor and visit once a month. So I believe going from lots of cycling to doing nothing my hip muscles have tightened hugely causing pressure on the nerves in my scrotum. Seriously guys try it, I’m so happy but mad at the same time that it’s taken nearly a year for this and all it’s taken is a massage ball and 15 minutes per day.
I am no cycling again! :)
I will keep you updated if I remain pain free.
Just to add I had a vasectomy in April I do get a mild grumble but it’s nothing to what I had before, I believe that’s just everything healing inside.
hi was just wondering if you could tell me what to search to find that video! Thanks!
Everyone, please make sure you stop masterbating. This is what is causing it to come back. Do not masturbate for at least 3 to 6 months. Make sure you do this. Try all the treatments and exercise, raw garlic will help to. Just eat it raw with some food everyday.
Thanks for the comment. I've had epididymitis (non std) for 3 years (18 years old) My urologist told me to masturbate twice a week while I took his BS antibiotics that made me depressed lol. I just stopped going and listening to them, I took colloidal silver for 3 weeks no pain anymore, actually stopped masturbating 8 days ago, I am aiming for 90 days. Also taking coconut oil, vitamin C pills and wheatgrass to help immune function
Did you swallow the colloidal silver, or applied locally?
Take 3 tsp of 10ppm colloidal silver per day. You hold it under your tongue for 30 seconds and then swallow it. Do it on an empty stomach if you can and don’t use the same spoon if it is a metal one. Be sure to wash it after each use. 3 TSP only for a 10ppm silver remember to do your research

How do you know this works? Answer us man.

i tried a bunch of stuff, nothing was working. i took 2 aspirins before bed for a few days and it went away 100% and have never had another flare up since. i took antibiotics for 17 days that didn't do anything and took motrin which mildly helped. seriously not joking, about 3 or 4 days of 2 regular strength aspirins and BAM its fully gone and hasn't returned whatsoever!
What medicine did u use bro its been 6 months in pain
I’m on Antibiotics now for the next 7 days, Does anyone else have a heavy testicle when they’re aroused?
The doctor didn’t have much to say about it, he said I was fine after my ultrasound and now I’m just hoping all this will clear up eventually.
I’ve had this a few years and it’s my first time on antibiotics
Daniel, I hope you feel better now after all these years. If you do and read all the replies you have received please return to us with your experience how you finally got it solved for you.
I am 25 and have been suffering from epididymitis along with mild hydrocele and mild varicocele in my left testies since october of 2017. I am feeling huge pain whole day in the back of my testies and also in the back of my body. I have visited many doctors and all of them said that there is nothing to worry and gave some antibiotics but the problem is still there.
Now i m feeling very much worried. The pain may be stay with me for forever. Is there any way of getting fully normal again!!!
I went through the same exact thing for over a year. Took 4 different rounds of anti biotics that the urologist prescribed even after that kept testing and it was showing there was no bacteria infection. That down there also got worse for me when laying down. If searching and searching for answers I finally went to a physical therapist who specialized in pelvic pain. Come to find out my hips were rotated. I’m now free of the pain 90 percent of the time. I highly suggest you seek out a physical therapist also who specializes in pelvic pain. I was sooo depressed prior to getting treatment from them. The urologist had me feeling very helpless. Hope you find some relief.
Never replied to one of these before, and created an account today just to do so. I was diagnosed with epididymitis about two months ago and had gone through rounds of doxycycline (2weeks) ciproflaxin (28 Days) and Z pack (1 time dose of 1gram). Experiencing no relief and excruciating pain in one testicle (which moved from the left to right varying on the day).
I went to GNC and purchased colloidal silver 30ppm and drank 2 teaspoons a day for 10-15 days. Amazing how the pain/swelling dies down. I would have never heard of colloidal silver had it not been for this page. Still awaiting a check up from my primary doctor in a few days, but so far this is the best I’ve felt in months.Appreciate all the posts, I honestly thought I’d have this pain forever. If you’re experiencing epididymitis, I highly suggest colloidal silver.
So you did swallow the colloidal silver, right? On mine it says that I should only rinse, but not too sure how effective that would be. Your response would be much appreciated!
Hi everyone! I have amazing news for you all. I thought I had epididymitis but as may be the case for you it Actually was chronic muscle spasm due to anxiety. Look up the Dr. Wise- Anderson Protocol for relaxation of these pelvic floor muscles. You may be confusing epididymitis for pelvic floor spasms!
Went to doctor and all checked out fine. No std. nothing. I had treatments that helped but always came back for years. I finally had enough and went to the doctor and told them I had tested positive for gonerrea and I needed treatment. I have been fine ever since. I believe it is an unknown bacteria because I am cured finally for 6 months now. Good luck
They gave me a shot and a couple pills for treatment. Took about a week and a half to get 100% better
What shot did you get?
What is your break through what pills did you get
it will go with time and proper treatment and lifestyle, i have epididymitis for 6 weeks and still counting but now it's easing up because of the proper lifestyle, i mean u can't expect that u will recover properly if u don't eat well, i recommend u to eat garlic cuz it's kinda a natural antibiotic and make u feel a lot better and some walks in street, park... whatever the places u like walking.
Heya, its possible what you had was pelvic floor muscle spasm which i have found relieves with walking. It can be caused by stress and anxiety which good diet can help with. I am glad you are feeling better. If things come back look into the Wise-Anderson protocol which details this problem and a treatment of profound relaxation of the nervous system. Meditation can work wonders too if focussed on the relaxing of these muscles
When I first got epydidimitis the doctor gave me Cypro. I can't remember the full name or dosage but it was the Cypro Antibiotic and it got rid of my Epydidimitis after a month or two of taking it. It stayed away for over 2 years and now is back but that's probably because my testicles are like magnets for anything that can hit them.
Hope this helps someone.
I had pain at least on e a year
since 2011. Urologist will send for me an
ultrasound and it was always the issue pain on the epididymis on the left testicle. Dr will prescribe for doxycycline which has taken care of the issue. Since 2011 the issue will come up once a year and I go through bed rest for 3-5 days. Things that have helped me are. 1. Doxycycline 2. Ice pack on affected area often to keep the swelling down.I had the issue again in 2017, slight pain... so I took doxycycline that I already had for just 5 days. After couple of weeks issue happened again... this time doxycycline didn't work (may be because didn't take the full course when I had slight pain :(. ). Dr prescribed for bactrim and that helped. I am 45 years old. So, antibiotic and ice is what helped me when I had the issue. Hope this helps someone to get their health back.
If it flares ip again try colloidal silver you can find on amazon. It worked amazingly for me. Its the Sovereign Silver kind. I take 1tsp 3-4 times a day. I am about 135lbs so give or take a few tablespoons of the internal use drops.
Let me go beyond the colloidal silver and say that my pain was caused by chronic stress and anxiety. This caused muscle spasms in my pelvic floor which constricted the nerves down there. This is all detailed in the Wise-Anderson protocol for pelvic pain. Reducing anxiety and profound relaxation of the nervous system are wonderful treatment options.
Ok Guys :>)
I am 62 and started having this issue after my Vasectomy ... 30 years ago ... Comes and Goes Ever Since ... Suck Up and Enjoy it ... Sorry, it will come and go ... That Vasectomy was the Worst Experience of Pain a guy might have ... shy of childbirth as my wife tells me LOL ... I will Never forget That event ... of course, having the two female medical students on one side of table gawking at my junk and the urologist being 80 years old on the other side ... did not help Haha! Then he says, "Perhaps you should have taken the Valium BEFORE we started LOL ... as i am heaving in a bag after he pulled on my vas deferen ... over these past 3 decades ... my right side testicle feels like it is wrapped-up by what feels like a plastic tube ... like you use in an aquarium pump ... OUCH! Swelling and Constant scrotum pain ... Mmmmm ... Thanks for reading my story.
