I'm going on 5 months of having epipdidymitis... already been to a urologist, I've had the ultrasound and been on antibiotics 3x's. I'm confused and feel like I'm being defeated. Plz Help
I do not have any STD'S... pain does decrease when I lay down. Urologist keep telling me there's nothing wrong but yet I still have discomfort and pain.
Does epididymitis ever go away?

Sounds as though you have chronic epididymitis.
Epididymitis is an inflammation of the coiled tube (epididymis) at the back of the testicle that stores and carries sperm. Epididymitis is most often caused by a bacterial infection, including sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea or chlamydia. Men of any age can get epididymitis.
Chronic epididymitis lasts longer than six weeks or recurs. Chronic epididymitis comes on gradually. Symptoms can be improved with treatment but may not completely be eradicated.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications (ibuprofen, naproxen) and local application of heat are the mainstays of treatment.
If symptoms persist, your physician may recommend other medications to alter the perception of pain in the area, or might refer you to a specialist in pain management. If all else fails the epididymis can be surgically removed (epididymectomy) while leaving the testicle in place.

Well, I went to another dr. App. and again they tell me nothing. They don't know why the antibiotics are not working. I'm lost and confused mentally. It appears that there is No Hope. If anybody knows what antibiotic WILL WORK. Plz Help me

I tried everything! Here is what finally worked: Sovereign Silver bio-active silver hydrosol (got it on Amazon) 1/2 dropper full twice a day, also took 1000 mg of turmeric twice a day. The colloidal silver is what really did it though I think.

I have also cured my epididymitis with that brand of colloidal silver. I happened to have found the Sovereign Silver brand at a local health food store. Even if you feel no more inflammation, keep taking it for a while till you feel its gone for good. Take a good quality probiotic if you are on antibiotics, take lots of turmeric and vitamins that support flushing of toxins out of the body. Dont take Lots of saw palmetto I had negative effects with my prostate from this. Temporary alleviation with ice is good until you can get the silver. Remember to eat very healthy lots of salads and omega fatty acids like fish oil and nuts. Take tablespoons of coconut oil as well.

I might add that I did experience a Herxheimer Reaction after this as I believe I did with the antibiotics (doxy and two others) which didnt help only weakened the bacteria. The Herx response a good thing it is pain and inflammation from bacteria dying and releasing their endotoxins faster than the body can get rid of them (the sovereign silver kills them fast) What really helped me is lots of different detox vitamins including D, C, Magneseum Citrate, among others. Also make sure to exercise if possible to sweat out some of the inflammation causing toxins. Shower/wash/bathe directly after to wash them from your skin.

My docs said that even after the bacteria is gone it may take weeks to months to heal completely because its such a moving organ and also very sensitive to begin with.

Take 1-4 teaspoons per day of Mesosilver or Wellness Colloidal Silver by Source Naturals. These are better but Sovereign will also work as it worked for me. Youll need less with Mesosilvee because its strongest, so to speak.

Hello Alsocured. How long did the Herxheimer Reaction last please? I have been taking Colloidal Silver for a week now, along with Turmeric twice a day and I was panicking as my Epi and urethra are in massive pain at the moment. My Epi on both sides is aching and a sting in the Urethra.
Does this mean that the silver is working and killing the infection and that is what is causing the pain again? I was on anti-biotics three times before trying this. My Urethra is stinging like mad at the moment and my Epi is aching like mad and this has only come on in the past week since taking Colloidal Silver. Is there anything else I should be doing to help flush it out? I'm taking cod liver oil as well and training in the gym 4-6 times per week.
Any help to my questions would really be appreciated. Mainly how long does the Herxheimer Reaction last before I start to feel better?

I made an account specifically to add to this: Been on 2 rounds of antibiotics and it always seems to sort of help, but it comes back strong as ever after it's gone. First was 7 days and second was 20 days. Neither helped after they were through.
Started the colloidal silver and it's been 10 days so far. Pain is almost completely gone now, which never happened on the antibiotics. Can confirm it's working far better than the antibiotics ever did.

Hey Alsocured ive had chronic epididymitis since 2015 about 3 years now. I just bought some colloidal silver 30ppm made by trace minerals. My question is will have the same effect as the colloidal silver brand you recommended?

Hi guys. I was on the colloidal silver for 8 weeks and it cured my epididymitis fully and no further reoccurrence. However, the pain in my urethra at the tip of the helmet, in the pelvic area and the bottom of the testicles still hurt really bad. Any idea what this could be or any help with remedies etc as antibiotics are not working. No discharge and no infection but the irritation is horrendous and has never gone away.

Hi Nodlewj I want to let you know you probably have pelvic pain due to muscle spasms caused by anxiety. This can be resolved by profound relaxation and realizing that it is not damage nor a infection and never was... look up the Wise-Anderson protocol they are urologists who have been looking at this issue for many years

Eric, I have had awesome results with colloidal silver with infections, however what you have may not be an infection like mine wasnt... see above about pelvic floor tightness it is the solution we have all been looking for. Id be willing to bet 75% or more of cases of epididymitis are actually pelvic floor spasm

Hello everyone, I'm 21 long story short I have chronic epididymitis for the last 3 years. I'm 100% sure its not an std as I was still a virgin when I got it, I think its from heavy lifting at my first job. Anyways I ordered that sovereign silver, and just wondering if there is any direction on how to take it and how much? I saw someone say 4 teaspoons a day? Do you take it orally with food? Please someone reply asap, I'm starting to lose my sex drive and I have been on ciprofloxacin and now doxycycline because cipro had too many side effects. This doxy is making me depressed and I don't feel better 3 weeks taking it.

Seeing a pelvic pain specialist 90 percent cured me after the first visit. After multiple visits the pain has gone away completely. The urologist kept luring me back to do more test and prescribe more antibiotics.

Yes. In my case, it went away completely after a year and half. For me too it did not pain at night except once or twice. Pain killers did not work. The urine report showed no infection and still the pain won't go away. Only method that worked somewhat was ice pack.
Before it went away, pain used to stop for 3-4 days and reappear. I went through this cycle of pain for a day or two and relief for 3-4 days. Sometimes I wondered if it is a neurological issue. The ailment disappeared completely before I could visit a neurologist.

Iam struggling hugely. I’ve had this now for nearly three months. I’ve had a months worth of an antibiotic beginning with a C but cannot remember. Just got worse. Back to doctors and prescribed doxy. I’ve been on this for a month. At times better but still just as bad as ever. Lying down helps but that’s it. I’ve had two ultrasounds that show ‘something’ in one of my testicles. A month apart, hasn’t got bigger but whatever is still there. Had a very quick check up with consultant urologist. Bloods taken. At the moment just awaiting to find out what happens next. But I’ve tired everything. The only thing that really does help is high doses of ibuprofen. Which I take every four hours. And Iam talking at least 400mg+ if you can get it.
I’ve taken literally hundreds of tablets in the last three months it’s really worrying me. As of today I’ve started what others have suggested, turmeric tablets. And when I can get the silver stuff I will try that too. But again three months down the road

And Iam still in pain. Any other suggestions would be good, will update with any further news. But very miserable at the moment. Bladder seems affected and sex drive is zero.

I've had this horrible condition for 3 years. Started as chlamydia.
Can anyone who has tried colloidal silver tell me how long they used it for and were they not concerned about side effects? I currently use garlic, turmeric and zinc just to keep the pain at bay.
Other cures I haven't tried are:
Pelvic floor (Wise-Anderson)
herbal diuretic & anti-inflammatory pill
2 aspirins before bed for a few days
500 mg Cipro
Cefixime and Azithromycin together
Try colloidal silver.. 10ppm sovereign silver.
Hibiscus flower tea
Which are all the cures suggested here so I'm going to go through them one by one.
1) Here goes, cure suggestion 1 & 2 trying in unison. Research wise-anderson and order some
herbal diuretic & anti-inflammatory pill
after research herbal diuretic & anti-inflammatory pill is a water pill and anti-inflammatory are already the pills I'm taking - turmeric- but I'm only taking 500mg so going to up the dosage to 1000mg.
Wise-anderson requires seeing a pelvic floor specialist and seeing one during Covid might take some time. Put on hold.
2) 2 aspirins before bed for a few days
500 mg Cipro
ok let's try the aspirins. I really dont think this will work but worth a shot.
I can also ask about the Cipro, although I've heard this is a dangerous drug.
3) Cefixime and Azithromycin together
Try colloidal silver.. 10ppm sovereign silver.
Hibiscus flower tea
I will also ask for the above antibiotics next visit to the GP.
Silver remains to be convinced of as even small quantities are dangerous. Waiting for a response here before I try.
hibiscus tea - done. £3 for a pack of 20 bags.

If you haven't already some guys who have symptoms of epididymitis should also look into the possibility of inguinal hernia/s. An ultrasound will confirm.

I tried everything under the sun to cure it. I’ve been free of pain for over 3-6 months. Here is what I did.
1. Take fish oil pills the higher the EPA the better. (Twice a day)
2. Hot water bath for 15-20mins (once a day is fine, twice a day is better)
3. Wear boxer briefs!!! No loose underwear idk why but this helps tremendously. Might be a bit painful the first couple days but it will get better.
4. THE MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL.
Hibiscus flower tea. Twice a day. Get yourself some organic hibiscus flower and brew it twice daily. I saw online that this has helped a lot of people and it definitely helped me. Do not skip any parts
I feel I cured my self with a combination of all! Do NOT skip any parts or supplements.
I’ve tried a lot of other things like the silver oil and turmeric, saw palmetto etc. this is what seemed to work for me!

Have you tried Mild Silver Protein.. they sell it on ebay.. My husband suffered from this and it went away after he took it.. The sell it on ebay the store is Live Longer.. I hope this helps heal your pain.

They tell you that because they have no treatment that works if it is not an infection. I am going on 7 or 8 years with it. Removing it does not usually help. I have prostate and bladder cancer and frequently see Urologist. They have no answers. Ice, and acupuncture will help.

Omitted to Ed , was in hospital for 3 days. Doctor said had in infection . Been on antibiotics for 1 week now , doxy and cephalexin . Ultra sound all clear , bloods all clear .swelling and tenderness has seemed to be gone . Been resting for 7 days .. However , still getting chills , and occasional night sweats. Is this normal? Until the infection has gone completely?Thinking maybe could be a reaction to the meds or the infection is still in my system?

December 2018 I slept with a girl who got me Chlamydia. I felt symptoms a week after and got treated a week after that once I noticed discharge. I got tested and was shown positive, then was given a single dose of Zithromax (1g). Symptoms went away just a few days after and I felt all good ( I had no testicle pain at this time). 3 months later I began to feel a full ache in my left testicle at which I ingored because I was recently hit there when playing football so I ingored it. A few weeks after that around in April I was checking my balls after a hot shower and noticed like a weird shaped lump on my left testicle. At this point I began to feel out and the pain only got worse from that point on. I immediately self diagnosed myself by looking online and was sure it was epididymitis. However, I was not able to attain any medical attention, I was leaving for vacation and it included a cruise for a month... So I was like I can sustain the pain until I get back in a month.
I so did, but it was getting more and more difficult to tolerate the pain as all my anxiety wrose and all my attention was on my testicle, whenever in on my phone all I look up is on how to cure myself of this curse. Once I got to Spain 2 days before my cruise I stayed at my friends place at which he said he knows someone who can get me doxy, but at that point the pain was so uncomfortable I had to take anything so I took 500mg of Clarithromycin (I know it doesn't work for Chlamydia) because I just wanted relief of any kind. I took it for two days which helped a lil bit, but doubt it did anything. On day 3 I got my doxy and began treatment, taking 200mg twice daily and continued to do so until this day (day 17) my scrotal pain decreased by alot by the first week of taking doxy, however swelling remained the same. Now Ive been in the states for a week and scheduled to see my doctor at the end of this week (07/26/19) to hopefully get a ceft shot and another 1g of zithro just to make sure the infection has cleared. Also I went to my local vitamin shoppe at which I accuired goldenseal and echinacea (GNC), vitamin C and also got some 200mg 3 times daily ibuprofen. I've been taking these for about a week now and the pain is almost gone. Oh I also started wearing brief which I think was the best thing anyone with epididymitis can do. The lumps are still there and the pain is very minimal but still there and masterbation can sometimes be painful especially If do so vigorously (not that hard but yk). My next step is to start taking the sovereign silver bio. Hopefully by next week once I see my urologist I should be back to a 100% I'd say I'm at 80% right now. The key to this I think is to not think about it too much as that's what's gonna make it worse. Eat healthy drink turmeric tea, if possible do cardio so u can get rid of the toxins, drink lots of water and hot showers. I would never wish this on anyone. Wear condoms always. I would prescribed a very good option for you which I tried and really helped me ..The best answer is sovereign colloidal silver .. Please just try it once and see magic within four to five days ..I’m from Ghana but my friend from USA got it for me from Amazon ..

My doctor diagnosed me with acute epididymitis about 4 days ago and I have been taking doxycycline twice a day. The pain in my scrotum seems to be going away but the tightness in my lower abdomin/pelvis is still there and I have been having a feeling of tightness behind my knee towards the inside of my thigh for a few days now. I don’t know if the tightness is due to a blood clot or nerve damage or if it is directly related to the eoididymitis. The pain started behind only my right knee but seems to be spreading to both legs. Has anyone else experienced this or know what is going on? Please respond as soon as possible as I am very nervous about this. Thank you.

I had exactly the same. All tests for infections and STD's came back negative.
I was on ciprofloxacin for many weeks.
Eventually, as someone else posted, I said I had tested positive for Gonorrhea and Chlamydia even though my results were negative. I took Cefixime and Azithromycin together, and took a second lot a week later. The results were not immediate, and I still had some residual pains, I requested Gabapentin for nerve pains and two weeks later was feeling 90% better.
4 weeks later was fully recovered.
I would say to anyone who suspects an infection and has been at all sexually active to get Azithromycin and Cefixime together for the antibiotics, even if all your tests are negative, and also to get Gabapentin for the pain.
I was off work for 4 months with this, the pain was so bad I couldn't sit down for long. This worked for me 100%

Okay - firstly this is horrible and do talk to people you know and trust about it. It will help you out if this
Second - an infection takes 4 to 6 weeks to clear - I was given too short a course. I had even asked for more antibiotics and my doctor didn't give them to me. He convinced me that it was not an infection.
He was wrong my condition got worse.
Eventually went to another doctor, way too much time had passed. And got a full 6 weeks of antibiotics recommended from a site like this. 500 mg Cipro. Infection is now cleared. Still in pain but no where near the levels it was previously.
Also the herbs and the like don't help and when you wasting time on those your infection will be getting worse. You need antibiotics, after the course is complete get an ultrasound they will tell you from the ultrasound if the infection has cleared or not. the last thing I will leave you with "doctors differ and patients die" these people are just people regardless of credentials. And people are stupid. So trust yourself, trust my advice and get well. Take care
