How long does it take for Jaypirca to work?

Jaypirca (pirtobrutinib) begins working soon after you start taking it, but the full effects may take a few months to appear. In clinical studies, some patients experienced tumor shrinkage as early as:

  • 7 weeks for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL)
  • 3.5 weeks for mantle cell lymphoma (MCL)

Jaypirca for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)

In a clinical trial of adult patients who had received at least two prior treatments:

  • Some patients saw their cancer shrink and stop spreading around 7 weeks after starting treatment.
  • The median time for cancer shrinkage and stabilization was 3.7 months.
  • The range of response times varied from 1.7 months to 27.9 months.

Jaypirca for Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL)

In a clinical trial of adults with MCL who had received at least two prior treatments:

  • Some patients saw tumor reduction and disease control as early as 3.5 weeks.
  • The median time for cancer shrinkage and stabilization was 1.8 months.
  • The range of response times varied from 3.5 weeks to 4.2 months.

How Does Jaypirca Work?

Jaypirca is a BTK inhibitor. BTK is a protein that signals activation of cancerous B-cells to multiply. By blocking BTK, Jaypirca stops cancer cells from multiplying and spreading in the body.
