How long does it take for Jaypirca to work?

Jaypirca (pirtobrutinib) starts working quickly after you take it. However, it can take up to a few months for some people to see the full effects of the medication. In studies, patients taking Jaypirca saw their cancer shrink in size and stop spreading as early as 7 weeks for chronic lymphocytic leukemia and 3.5 weeks for mantle cell lymphoma.

Chronic lymphocytic leukemia

  • In a clinical trial of adult patients who had received at least two treatments and taking Jaypirca for chronic lymphocytic leukemia, some patients saw their cancer shrink and stop spreading around 7 weeks after they started treatment.
  • The median time it took for patients taking Jaypirca to see their cancer shrink in size and stop spreading was 3.7 months.
  • The range of time it took patients to see their cancer shrink in size and stop spreading was 1.7 months to 27.9 months.

Mantle cell lymphoma

  • In a clinical trial of adult patients who had received at least two treatments and taking Jaypirca for mantle cell lymphoma, some patients saw their cancer stop spreading and reduce in size as early as 3.5 weeks after they started treatment.
  • The median time it took for patients taking Jaypirca to see their cancer shrink and stop spreading was 1.8 months.
  • The range of time it took for patients to see their cancer shrink in size and stop spreading was 3.5 weeks to 4.2 months.
