Drug Interactions between FBL Kit and Rimactane
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- FBL Kit (baclofen/flurbiprofen/lidocaine topical)
- Rimactane (rifampin)
Interactions between your drugs
rifAMPin flurbiprofen
Applies to: Rimactane (rifampin) and FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical)
RifAMPin may cause liver problems and using it with other medications that can also affect the liver, such as flurbiprofen, may increase that risk. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Your doctor may already be aware of the risks but has determined that this is the best course of treatment for you, has taken appropriate precautions, and is monitoring you closely for any potential complications. If you develop severe liver problems, you may need a dose adjustment or an interruption in therapy. Call your doctor immediately if you have fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, dark colored urine, light colored stools, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes, as these may be signs and symptoms of liver damage. Talk to your healthcare provider if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
lidocaine baclofen
Applies to: FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical) and FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical)
Using lidocaine together with baclofen may increase side effects such as dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, and difficulty concentrating. Some people, especially the elderly, may also experience impairment in thinking, judgment, and motor coordination. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with these medications. Also avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medications affect you. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
rifAMPin lidocaine
Applies to: Rimactane (rifampin) and FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical)
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
Drug and food interactions
rifAMPin food
Applies to: Rimactane (rifampin)
Food can decrease the levels of rifAMPin in your body. Taking rifAMPin on an empty stomach (at least 30 minutes before or 2 hours after a meal) will make it easier for your body to absorb the medication. Avoid drinking alcohol while taking rifAMPin because alcohol use may increase the risk of damage to your liver. It is important to seek immediate medical care if you experience any severe side effects or symptoms of liver damage such as fever, chills, joint pain or swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising, skin rash, itching, loss of appetite, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, dark colored urine, and/or yellowing of the skin or eyes. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
lidocaine food
Applies to: FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical)
Grapefruit juice may increase the blood levels of lidocaine, which may increase the risk of side effects such as low blood pressure, slow heart rate, irregular heart rhythm, difficulty breathing and convulsions. Cigarette smoking may reduce the blood levels of lidocaine, which may make the medication less effective. It is best to avoid smoking during lidocaine therapy. Consuming cruciferous vegetables (e.G., broccoli, brussels sprouts) may also reduce the blood levels of lidocaine. Talk to a healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
baclofen food
Applies to: FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical)
Alcohol can increase the nervous system side effects of baclofen such as dizziness, drowsiness, and difficulty concentrating. Some people may also experience impairment in thinking and judgment. You should avoid or limit the use of alcohol while being treated with baclofen. Do not use more than the recommended dose of baclofen, and avoid activities requiring mental alertness such as driving or operating hazardous machinery until you know how the medication affects you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions or concerns.
flurbiprofen food
Applies to: FBL Kit (baclofen / flurbiprofen / lidocaine topical)
Ask your doctor before using flurbiprofen together with ethanol. Do not drink alcohol while taking flurbiprofen. Alcohol can increase your risk of stomach bleeding caused by flurbiprofen. Call your doctor at once if you have symptoms of bleeding in your stomach or intestines. This includes black, bloody, or tarry stools, or coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
