Drug Interactions between Fast Acting Mylanta and nebivolol / valsartan
This report displays the potential drug interactions for the following 2 drugs:
- Fast Acting Mylanta (calcium carbonate/magnesium hydroxide)
- nebivolol/valsartan
Interactions between your drugs
calcium carbonate nebivolol
Applies to: Fast Acting Mylanta (calcium carbonate / magnesium hydroxide) and nebivolol / valsartan
Using nebivolol together with calcium carbonate may decrease the effects of nebivolol. Separate the administration times of nebivolol and calcium carbonate by at least 2 hours. If your doctor does prescribe these medications together, you may need a dose adjustment or special test to safely use both medications. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
valsartan nebivolol
Applies to: nebivolol / valsartan and nebivolol / valsartan
If you are receiving valsartan and nebivolol together with a medication called an ACE inhibitor, you should talk to your doctor to make sure this treatment is appropriate for your condition. When used in the treatment of heart failure, this three drug combination has been associated with increased side effects and an increased rate of death. The reason for this is not clear. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
magnesium hydroxide nebivolol
Applies to: Fast Acting Mylanta (calcium carbonate / magnesium hydroxide) and nebivolol / valsartan
Information for this minor interaction is available on the professional version.
Drug and food interactions
calcium carbonate food
Applies to: Fast Acting Mylanta (calcium carbonate / magnesium hydroxide)
Calcium absorption may be increased by taking it with food. However, foods high in oxalic acid (spinach or rhubarb), or phytic acid (bran and whole grains) may decrease calcium absorption. Calcium may be taken with food to increase absorption. Consider spacing calcium administration for at least 2 hours before or after consuming foods high in oxalic acid or phytic acid. Talk to your doctor if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
valsartan food
Applies to: nebivolol / valsartan
If you are taking valsartan you should avoid potassium-containing salt substitutes or over-the-counter potassium supplements without first talking to your doctor. This can cause high levels of potassium in your blood. High levels of potassium can cause weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs. Call your doctor at once if you have any of these symptoms.
