Interactions between your drugs
cefTRIAXone parenteral nutrition solution w/electrolytes
Applies to: ceftriaxone / lidocaine and Aminosyn II 4.25%-Dextrose 20%,Electrolyte,Ca (parenteral nutrition solution w / electrolytes)
CefTRIAXone and calcium can form crystals when they are mixed together in solution or in the bloodstream. Life-threatening and fatal reactions have occurred when the crystals accumulated in the lung and kidneys of newborns. If you (or your child) require treatment with cefTRIAXone and parenteral nutrition solution w/electrolytes by injection directly into the veins, your healthcare providers can help prevent this interaction by taking a few simple precautions. You should tell your healthcare providers about all the medications that have been given to you (or your child) in the past two days, especially those given through the veins. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your healthcare providers.
Drug and food interactions
lidocaine food
Applies to: ceftriaxone / lidocaine
Grapefruit juice may increase the blood levels of lidocaine, which may increase the risk of side effects such as low blood pressure, slow heart rate, irregular heart rhythm, difficulty breathing and convulsions. Cigarette smoking may reduce the blood levels of lidocaine, which may make the medication less effective. It is best to avoid smoking during lidocaine therapy. Consuming cruciferous vegetables (e.G., broccoli, brussels sprouts) may also reduce the blood levels of lidocaine. Talk to a healthcare professional if you have any questions or concerns. It is important to tell your doctor about all other medications you use, including vitamins and herbs. Do not stop using any medications without first talking to your doctor.
