Abnormal liver function tests have been reported in patients treated with clotrimazole lozenges. Elevated SGOT levels were reported in about 15% of patients in clinical trials. Elevations were usually minimal and difficult to distinguish if caused by clotrimazole, other treatments or underlying disease. Periodic assessment of liver function is recommended, especially in patients with preexisting liver impairment.
