For Migraine "My neurologist prescribed Zomig for my migraines (45 years) in November 2011. Within 1 hour, my migraine vanished with no residual effects. The only side effect I have is increased urination 2 to 3 hours after a dose. I also take Cymbalta, but it hasn't caused a problem."

For Migraine "Zomig works wonders for me for migraines. The only side effect I typically have is hearing my pulse in my right ear. Annoying (and weird), but not a deal-breaker. I take a high dose of Effexor and have no interactions that I know of. However, I once took it with Ambien, and that was a big mistake, as even the next day I felt off-balanced and weak. I also try not to take it within 4 hours of Tylenol for similar reasons. It's nice to have a medicine that works so well, so consistently."

For Migraine "I started with the 2.5 mg dose, and the neurologist increased it to 5 mg due to the severity of my migraines. This medicine makes me itch horribly. I drove my son nuts last night, making him check my bed every few minutes because I just knew there were bugs crawling on me. I haven't stopped scratching, I probably look like I have scabies or something. I need to find out if I can take Benadryl with this. Also, I'm on the fence about this medicine, as it doesn't always work for me."

For Migraine "First time trying this medication for my migraines, and the experience was horrifying. I did as the pharmacist told me, as in when I felt the pain starting to take my first tablet right away. So I did, and after about an hour, the migraine was getting worse, so I waited the 2 hours in order to take my second tablet because the pain was only getting worse for me with some added nausea. Hoping for relief, I took the second dose, and oh my, what a bad idea. After just about 1/2 an hour, the pain intensified. My head felt like it was going to burst, my vision was not blurred, but if I looked at something, it was bobbing. I had to ice my head constantly, and anything I laid on felt so hard and made everything hurt. I could barely sleep because the pain was throbbing so bad and I was getting even more nauseous. So needless to say, I had a terrible night, still woke up with a pounding head, and will NEVER take another dose of this medication. I will be going to my doctor to do a different prescription."

For Migraine "I really liked Zomig. It always knocked out my migraines. I have had them since puberty. I wasn't prescribed Zomig until about 3 years ago from the VA Hospital. Then they stopped allowing us to get it and changed it to Imitrex. Imitrex takes longer to work."

For Migraine "Maxalt did nothing, and oral sumatriptan stopped working, so I tried Zomig spray. I followed the directions exactly and still got a ton of product dripping down the back of my throat (which is normal). Either my migraine kept getting worse, or the Zomig made it worse. Either way, this did not work for me."

For Migraine "Unfortunately, after taking my first dose of Zomig, I had an allergic reaction to it. My upper lip felt like I was stung by a bee and started to swell up on one side. This stayed in the same location for about 45 minutes. After that, my left cheek started to swell and get numb, along with my nose. Off to the ER I had to go. While it did kick the migraine, I had an unfortunate reaction to it."

For Migraine "I took Zomig because I got diagnosed with migraines during my second year of college. I took it during one of the lectures. My face got wicked itchy, so I had to take a Benadryl. The next time, I figured that I would just take the Benadryl with it so I was safe. I found out very quickly that I have an anaphylactic reaction and almost stopped breathing. While I understand that I'm just allergic to this medication, it really didn't get rid of the headache and just made things worse for me. Hopefully, it will work for others."

For Migraine "I have been having migraines since I was very young and now 60. I found I couldn't travel anywhere and couldn't go out in the sun. I've been taking Zomig for 4 years, and usually it just stops my migraine straight away. I must admit it has given me my life back. But yesterday, while I was driving a long distance, it came on quick, and Zomig didn't work as well. I think I took it too late. When I finally got home in agony, all the side effects started. I felt really ill, my throat closed, and pain shot around my neck and back. Hopefully, this won't happen again."

For Migraine "I would be lost without this Zomig medication. It always works, takes about an hour to reach full effect and lasts for the whole day. Minor side effects are slight drowsiness, increase in urination, increased sensation around mouth, throat, and fingers. Have been using 1 to 3 times a week for about 12 years."

For Migraine "I have suffered with migraines for over 40 years. I have even gone so far as having my ovaries removed to help with them. Although it helped, I am still on daily medication, and I still have approximately 6 migraines a month. I take Zomig nasal spray when I get these annoyances. I classify them as annoyances because once I use the nasal spray, the migraine will be 90-95% better in 15 minutes and completely gone in an hour. The only side effects I have had are my skin becoming very sensitive... almost as if I have bruises all over my body just under my skin. I am also tired. A 30-45 minute nap cures the tiredness."

For Migraine "Not a fan of this medication at all. First, it made me nauseous because the taste was so awful dissolving in your mouth. It makes me nauseous just thinking about it. Then, it would make me overwhelmingly drowsy. I dreaded taking it. I thought I could get used to taking the medicine like I usually do, as I'm not a wimp about these things, but couldn't. It didn't work on some of the migraines. Still trying to find what best works for me."

For Migraine "I use the Zomig nasal spray. Out of the 4 or so migraine medicines I've tried (prescription), this is the only one that works for me. It doesn't take too long to kick in, I use it, then after 30 minutes, the pain starts to ease some, and I go take a nap. When I wake up, it's gone."

For Migraine "I take 2.5 mg and have taken it for 14 years. It does stop the pain in 15 minutes, but I feel like I have the flu after, and lately, a lot of bladder pain, urinary infections every 6 months, and urinating a lot with loss of urinary control. I am 65 years old and have had migraines forever. Does anyone experience bladder issues? Is it because I have been on it so long, and it is hurting the bladder?"

For Migraine "I’m not gonna lie, the side effects can seriously suck... but they’re very temporary. I get a rancid taste in my mouth, as well as increased heart rate (which, for someone with a preexisting heart condition, is not ideal). HOWEVER, these only happen for maybe a half hour after taking the spray, and for the first time in over ten years, I actually have something that not only halts the migraine in its tracks (whether I’m in the aura stage or even in the beginning of a serious attack) but lets me actually continue on with work and not have to debilitate me to the point of needing to go to bed for the rest of the day. I take this in combination with Zofran, and I feel like a completely new person within an hour of taking it. This is the best."

For Migraine "Zomig is a miracle drug. I get migraines several times a week. I take this at the very first hint of a headache, and it aborts the headache. It makes you feel completely normal. The first 45 minutes, my heart beats a little fast, but that goes away quickly. Highly recommend."

For Migraine "I had migraines for years before I finally was sent to a neurologist. He gave me samples of many of the prescription migraine medications that are out there now, and many of them, including Imitrex, just did not work or made me really fatigued. Zomig worked really fast, and I have no side effects at all. If I can take it as soon as I can feel the headache coming on, it is gone before I really realize it."

For Migraine "I was prescribed Zomig by my neurologist. I have severe headaches. After taking it, it would kick in in about 30 minutes, and the pain would go away. However, after taking sumatriptan instead of this, it wouldn't work as fast as it did before, and I had to wait for hours before it would be completely gone. It works great, though!"

For Migraine "I've been using Zomig for acute migraines for about 3 years. Luckily, I don't suffer from chronic migraines; I only get about 9 a year. I take a 2.5 mg dose, which takes about 40 mins to kick in. Eliminates the pain, nausea, and light sensitivity. I haven't experienced any side effects; however, I did notice that some migraines returned after 24 hours. I've heard that zolmitriptan use can cause rebound headaches, which could be what I experienced. The rebound isn't as bad as the original onset, and I try to hold off from a second dose if I can - try to sleep it off instead. Overall, happy with it as a weapon against migraines, enables me to function."

For Migraine "The side effects far outweighed the benefits. Before I ever noticed that a migraine had begun to subside, I was overwhelmed with the most awful tingling sensation. It literally felt like I had a full body rash and as though something was crawling on me, mixed with the tingly sensation when your foot falls asleep. I also got very weak and nauseous, and occasionally light-headed. It was dreadful. I finally decided it was easier to take my regular migraine meds and treat the actual migraine symptoms than to deal with the side effects of Zomig. The only reason I'm giving it a 2 is because it did slightly lessen the actual migraine."

For Migraine "It only works about half of the time. I’m also very reluctant to use it and often delay using it longer than I should, and it would probably be more effective if I used it earlier. I’m a chronic and cluster migraine sufferer and can’t afford the cost of $400/month. I think the cost is extremely unacceptable, and the government should be negotiating prices for medications. I’m on disability, having both parts A and B of Medicare. In addition, we pay out of pocket for the most expensive supplemental medical and pharmacy insurance."

For Migraine "Out of all the meds I have tried for my cluster headaches, the Zomig nasal spray is the one I can count on if taken at the onset. My biggest trigger is alcohol, and I will do a spray with my first drink, and I avoid the 45 minutes of ice pick behind the eye agony. Unfortunately, it only works about half the time with the random headaches I wake up with during the night."

For Migraine "Given two of the 5 mg in nasal spray form (at neurologist for my Rxs that control my 20-year history of cervical dystonia). Was on my second day of the latest sinus headache the neuros always insist are migraines. Had them since I was a small child, and they are sinus-related. The spray did nothing. I got rid of it by eating hot mashed potatoes with three or more tablespoons of crushed hot pepper flakes. That was over an hour and a half of the non-effective 5 mg Zomig. Hot spicy food worked instantly. Happy for those it works for... but I've often conquered mine with two gel cap ibuprofen and/or a damp hand towel in a plastic grocery bag heated in the microwave and put on my forehead. Mine are more stubborn over 50 years. Try other things first."
