Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "Started Trintellix in a very low dose. Seemed to help. After 3 months, didn’t seem to help at all. Increased my dose, then the vomiting, weight gain went crazy! Had to leave work several times because of vomiting. I am a nurse in a very busy emergency department. Grateful they didn’t fire me! Then the weight gain - up 20 lbs! They claimed, “no significant effect on weight.” Lying! Never again. Weaned off. I’ll deal with being sad!"

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I have been on Trintellix 10 mg and increased to 20 mg on 02/19/2014. I have experienced dry mouth, dizziness, forgetfulness, no desire to eat, weight loss of 11 lbs in 10 days, which is good considering I am overweight. This can't be a bad thing, and wake up often. However, I am in a happier mood and not so stressed out. I have been on Trintellix for a total of 11 days. Hope the yucky side effects go away soon. I have tried almost everything else and nothing has worked mood-wise for me as good as this is."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I've tried so many antidepressants but this one has been the best. I was on 10mg for a month and just had my dosage increased to 20 mg, two days ago. I do feel sick, nausea and a little disoriented but those are bearable side effects to me. I have had energy, better concentration but the biggest thing I love about this antidepressant is that I have my sex drive back. My libido wasn't affected like it has been in the past with other meds, I've actually had increased sex drive. So far I feel 'okay' but hopefully since 20mg is the therapeutic dose, that I feel more 'content' or 'happy' with my life soon."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I started Trintellix at 10mg over 4 weeks ago after being on Prestiq for over a year. I have been going into a deeper depression than I have ever experienced. I have sweats, upset stomach (take in the morning with food). My nerves are shot, and I don't want to leave my bedroom. I used to be so active in life, now I just want to hide. I am going to my doctor today to request being taken off this medication and be put on something else. This medicine has just made my life worse than ever before. If you are deciding on what to go on, I would not recommend this product."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I was on Lexapro for about 2 years until it stopped working. Prior to that, over the last 25 years, I was always on an antidepressant. You name it, I've tried it. What the antidepressants did for me was just take away the severe irritability that I had. I was really at a low point when my doctor asked me to try Trintellix. I had no desire to do anything. I felt no joy. I had been taking 40 mg of Lexapro a day. Doc said I didn't have to wean off it. He said I could just switch, starting the next day, and I did. I started on 5mg for the first 2 wks then increased to 10mg. It's only been 4 wks that I have been on it and my nausea has gotten better. I have a clarity in thinking that I didn't have before. I feel joy now. I am staying on it. Also, no sexual problems on it. Got hope!"

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I am a 61-year-old male. I tried all SSRIs and MAOIs for persistent depression over 9 years. Most recently, I was on Prozac. None of these worked beyond moderate improvement. Depression and anxiety plagued me constantly. I used Lorazepam to sleep effectively. I started on Trintellix 10 mg and within 2 weeks felt stable and able to deal with challenging personal setbacks with clarity and resolve. I think that 4 months into it, I have found a drug that truly works."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I have been taking 10 mg for 3 weeks. I have taken other antidepressants before with very little to no help. With this one, I feel a lot better. I have more energy, I can focus and concentrate better. My mind is clearer than it has been for a long time, and I am happier. So far, I have no side effects besides I am a little constipated."

For Depression "I am on 10 mg per day. During the first couple of weeks, I experienced some feelings of nausea, and that subsided. I have to say that Vortioxetine has been excellent for me, as it generates a feeling of peace and well-being that I have not experienced for some time. The other very positive aspect of this medication is that I have been able to shed quite a number of kilograms, which is something that I was unable to do on other AD medication. The positive of that is that I feel good, lose weight, feel better, lose more weight, higher daily motivation. I am totally satisfied with this medication and would strongly recommend it to anyone contemplating a change of AD medication."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I went into a mild depression but a major anxiety situation. I started Trintellix 6 days ago. Today I feel the best. I found myself happy and chatting with everyone I saw. I had slight nausea the first 4 days. I took it in the morning with a banana, and it was fine. I kept a little something in my stomach the first 3 days. I did have trouble sleeping but took half a Benadryl, and it helped. I’m feeling good today. I’m hopeful it will work for me. My doctor said I can come off of it in 90 days. It’s just to build up my serotonin levels. He only suggested 5 mg. Try to stay with it if you have no major side effects."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "Updating my review as I have now been taking Trintellix 10mg for 5 weeks. Feeling great, no nausea unless I drink a glass of wine. I was taking it in the morning but it was making me very sleepy early in the evenings. Now I take it at about 2:30 pm and that is working great for me. It has regulated my sleep so that in itself has changed my life! It has really helped me with my severe social anxiety, and my low feeling is beginning to lift. I have no feeling of being medicated at all. My insurance is covering it thanks to my doctor and his prior approval letter showing other meds did not work for me. My copay is $60, and there is a savings card with Trintellix on their website that brought my cost down to $10."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "Definitely mixed feelings about Trintellix after being on this medication for a year. Prior to this, I took Paxil and abandoned that horror due to reduced emotions and feelings for anything or anyone. I began Trintellix and you'd swear I was bipolar (which I'm not). I wake up some mornings, take a 20 mg tablet, and feel happy but severely anxious. Throughout the day, the anxiety builds up until the evening. The evening sucks. The anxiety slowly builds into depression, I wake up the next day and it happens all over again, like Groundhog Day."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I have been using this medication for over a month. I find the side effect of nausea to be very minimal and was gone in about 10 days. My mood is positive and stable. However, I find my focus and concentration to be markedly improved. This medication does what it claims to do. Much better than the others and lower side effects."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "I took Trintellix for three weeks due to my previous antidepressant losing effectiveness. I started with 5 mg and had gone up to 10 mg when I was overwhelmed by anxiety. Because you can’t just quit, I had to wean myself off the drug. I dropped to 5 mg for a week and then finally stopped. I still have symptoms of anxiety as I wait for the effects to go away. I had never experienced anxiety until I started taking this drug. I am now dealing with major depression and anxiety at the same time. I do not endorse the use of this drug."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I love Trintellix. I've been on it for a year. Unfortunately, I take 20 mg. I feel a whole lot better. So much better than Prozac. Only downfall is that my headaches are back. Might lower back to 10 mg. Wish it wasn't so expensive."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "Prescribed 10 mg a day of Trintellix for depression, and the first 10 days I was sick to my stomach and itching, so I take an antihistamine at the same time at bedtime. Day 11 started feeling markedly better, nausea was gone, still itching, but less. Day 14 my overall feeling was 50 percent better than when I started the drug. Today, day 16 saw my doctor again. I had lost weight, my overall anxiety is much better, the depression 70 percent better. All my aches and pains have disappeared. The doctor gave me 2 months of samples and told me to come back in a month if I thought I needed to, otherwise continue as directed. I've been on multiple antidepressants over the years, none worked even half as well as the Trintellix"

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "I had been diagnosed with Major Depressive Disorder and have been treated with medicines that, at that time, were the best. Venlafaxine being the latest. However, the effects were decreasing over time. After 12 years and having so many side effects, now I am on Trintellix 20mg daily...wow, there is life. My mood is elevated, my outlook, self-esteem, and confidence have returned to normal. My energy level has skyrocketed. My sleep is more restful. Negative thoughts are diminished. Day-to-day living is now controllable. Clear thought process, not a drugged feeling. I am a very content person. Focus on the enabling versus the negativity. Started on 10mg daily, increased to 20mg after 3 weeks, and a slow reduction in my venlafaxine. One side effect is nausea I noted, but a dry snack helps."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "I was on every drug in the book for depression: Prozac, Wellbutrin, Pristiq, and Cipralex, nothing took the edge off at all. I lost my mother to depression in July of 2019. Nothing could be worse. I was not on anything but Prozac at the time, and I wasn't doing well. Addicted to benzos, I was struggling. My doctor placed me on Trintellix, 10 mg. He was kind enough to give me samples until I got coverage. I had a bit of a setback and fell into depression six months later. I was boosted to 20 mg, and now I am doing fantastic. Depressive episodes do come back for a few days at a time, but they are easier to handle if you get back into a routine and force yourself. I think this is a great drug, I lost all hope in antidepressants previously."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "I had major depressive disorder for decades and had been on every antidepressant med., so when I saw a psychiatrist (2014 or 2015) at the insistence of my psychologist, the psychiatrist confirmed that I had been on every antidepressant med. with, at most, brief benefit. She suggested trying a new med., which was originally called Brintellix. My depressive symptoms had included long periods - weeks, months - of extreme depression in reaction to even minor triggering events. I was in one of the long periods of extreme depression when I began taking this medication. The morning after my first dose, I was relieved of the intensity and even of a mildly depressed affect. Since then, I have had brief periods of very disturbing depression, but they have been only periods of hours. I have not had any periods of depressive affect or behavior lasting more than a few hours. I have had mild symptoms from time to time, but none where I could not function. I can still feel hopeless or sometimes."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "I used to be on generic escitalopram for 6-7 years. It worked really well at the time, but as I was now becoming an adult (21 now), my major depressive episodes were happening more frequently. I had more adult stress; full-time student, part-time worker, full-time bills. It was becoming too much. I switched psychiatrist and psychologist due to personal reasons and insurance. My new psychiatrist gave me free samples of Trintellix to try for a month. She said it's newer than escitalopram, it's usually faster and has more SSRIs. After 6 days, I began to feel really great. I was able to pay attention in lectures again, I felt so energetic that I started going back to the gym, and I just felt more like myself again. Like a 2.0. It could've been a placebo effect, but after taking it for almost a year now, I can tell you I feel incredible :)"

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I have suffered for about 10 years with depression and anxiety. Never suicidal, but I have just always felt like the world was passing me by. So my doctor prescribed Wellbutrin XL 300 mg about 2 years ago and the first 6 months worked just ok. I think it really disrupted my sleep patterns and stopped working completely on taking the edge off the depressed feeling a few months ago. I gained 30 lbs in one year on Wellbutrin, which made me more depressed. A week ago, my doctor prescribed Trintellix 10mg. The first day I felt a little nauseous, but it quickly subsided after an hour or so. I didn’t realize what a funk I had been in until the Trintellix. I do not feel medicated at all. The fog is lifting, I feel so clear and normal. From the 2nd day I have felt like I am sleeping like a normal person and am able to get up early and get going with my day, clearly. I am hoping my insurance will cover this, my doctor has assured me he will get me approved and will keep me in samples until then."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "Trintellix has been a lifesaver. It’s extremely powerful, and the side effects are low. It works rather quickly compared to other antidepressants. It’s kind of like Wellbutrin, as the mechanism of action is different from most SSRIs/SNRIs. It has its own unique feeling. Not as bad emotional blunting and horrible sexual side effects like Zoloft or Prozac. It’s very expensive with no generic available, but the insurance companies are starting to cover it, and there is supposed to be a generic available in 2027, hopefully. I was in a dark place, and it pulled me out. Also, it’s not extremely addictive like other antidepressants."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I have been on Effexor and just about everything else (hated getting off Effexor - they don't warn you about the addiction beforehand), but for the first time ever, I can say I am back to a solid, stable 'normal'. Haven't been this happy and upbeat in well over a decade. All the others seemed to help, but I always had small dips and still struggle a lot with fatigue. It took about 2 months for the total effect to be realized, but I am very happy. As always - your mileage may vary."

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Major Depressive Disorder "Week four on Trintellix, 10mg to start, upped to 20mg for 3 weeks now, no side effects as of yet. I'm feeling better every day it seems. I feel happy again, less agitation, more energy, and motivation. My personal relationships, which were quickly deteriorating, are seeming to return to normal! My only wish is that I'd found this medication much sooner. Best wishes to anyone else with this medication! (My insurance is needing a pre-authorization to cover this medication, just a note for others.)"

Trintellix (vortioxetine) for Depression "I have been on Trintellix for about 3 weeks now. So far I've noticed increased energy, weight loss, nausea, headaches, loss of sleep, nightmares, and some aggression. I have finally found one that works and I'm having all these side effects. I started out on the 10mg and still currently taking the 10mg. Maybe I need to be on a lower dose. I also take Ambien 10mg for sleep."
