For Migraine Prevention "I have been prescribed verapamil for vestibular migraines that I have had for the last 8 weeks, with the only symptoms being tiredness and disequilibrium. I am still in my first week of taking it (4 days) and have found it great. It has cleared the lethargy and tiredness, and my disequilibrium has improved substantially. The only side effects I have had are slight dizziness if I move too fast or get up too quickly from sitting, and my feet have been feeling a little swollen at night, but nothing major. I am a 45-year-old male and normally very fit and take 90 mg of verapamil each day for a month, followed by 180 mg in the second month."

For Cluster Headaches "I have suffered for three years, at my wit's end I too did my own research, and after two weeks I am pain-free. The bad attacks stopped instantly, and the minor ones subsided after about day 7. I feel like I have my life back. I was exhausted for the first week until my body adjusted... but push through people... this medicine saved my life. I can even enjoy a glass of wine now and again!"

For Migraine Prevention "Randomly started getting migraines about a year ago. Went to every doctor possible to figure out what was wrong, and finally, someone prescribed verapamil. I take 40 mg 3x a day, along with Migrelief supplements, and it's helped me more than anything else! It's helped me be able to function normally again. I've noticed it does make me a little lightheaded, and I'm tired a lot, so it's possible it's lowering my blood pressure too much. Rather have that than the migraines, though!"

For Migraine Prevention "This is one of the worst drugs ever! So very tired all the time, my migraines are worse. I fell over 2 weeks ago and injured an old spinal cord injury because I am so out of it being on Verapamil. Currently on 360 mg, which is a very high dose. I also do an injection on a monthly basis for my awful migraines that I exercise on a daily basis, Botox, and nothing has helped me. For all of you on Verapamil, very happy that this awful drug works for you."

Calan SR (verapamil) for Supraventricular Tachycardia "I used verapamil for 5 years to treat supraventricular tachycardia (SVT). With each visit to the doctor, they increased my dosage. I started out taking 30 mg once a day and ended with 180 mg once a day. For the most part, my symptoms were never controlled. The drug caused extreme fatigue and tiredness. I often had severe headaches and was constipated. I have been switched to atenolol 50 mg once a day now. Hopefully, I won't have as many unwanted side effects."
For High Blood Pressure "Verapamil ER 180 mg gave me tightness in chest, flu syndrome, cough, stomach pain, low-grade fever, and a general feeling of being unwell. Also tiredness, headache, and constipation. I took it for one week and discontinued due to these bad side effects. Unfortunately, this medicine is not for me. Further, it did not lower my hypertension at all."
