Venetoclax for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "Easy! I combined my Venclexta treatment with Gazyva infusions. I was improving almost immediately. No side effects except mild fatigue occasionally. Never got sick during year-long treatment. Hoping for a deep and long-lasting remission!"

Venetoclax for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "My husband started Venclexta in February 2024. He has had a lot of fatigue, weakness, days where he feels so bad that he only sits in his chair with his eyes closed. When he feels bad, he doesn't feel safe to drive but often doesn't even feel like going anywhere with me driving. Lymph nodes that were enlarged have gone down, but not totally. It has been 9 months since treatment began. Treatment included 6 months of infusion treatments of some other drugs; not sure what was given. Recently, he has begun to experience a headache on some days, but fatigue seems a little better. No nausea, diarrhea, or significant intestinal issues have been experienced. He did have fever blisters on his lips at the beginning of treatment, but they soon were cured with over-the-counter meds. Praying for remission."

Venetoclax for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "This is the best drug I've been on for CLL. I never upped it to 400. I stayed at 100, and it's done everything. I was at 464,000 on white blood cells when I started. It quickly brought me down to normal range, like in 2 months. Only side effect has been chronic UTI."

Venetoclax for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "Venclexta has worked wonderfully for me. When my ibrutinib stopped working and my counts began to increase, I was moved to Venclexta with a 6-month infusion cycle of rituximab. I have completed that cycle now and am back to 3-month follow-ups with the Dr. My counts are absolutely normal and have been almost since I started taking it."

Venetoclax for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "I was DX'ed with CLL in 2006, then in 2014 had my 1st chemotherapy (F.C.R). I relapsed in 2022 & started on V with rituximab. In Australia, we are only on V for 2 yrs. I'm on 400 mg a day, 4 x 100 mg tabs. In the 20 months I've been on V, it has caused fatigue & the odd bout of diarrhea, but both are manageable. I have found that my head goes wonky if I don't drink plenty of water after taking V. Within 12 months of starting V, my bloodwork returned to normal except for low platelets, but even they have now come back to almost normal. Tablets are fairly easy to swallow with water, but they are a large tablet. I would definitely recommend V to anybody who has CLL. The full cost of V in Australia is A$7400 per month, but it is subsidized by the gov, so at the most, I would pay A$48.50, and if you're on a pension or health care card, A$7.70."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "Worked very quickly to bring my counts close to normal (within 2 weeks) after a 3-month buffering period on ibrutinib. I do eat twice what I normally would, and I am craving protein. I am not putting on weight nor losing weight. Only side effect is a strange muscle soreness, but I am not sure if that is DOMS from exercise, the drug itself, or I recovered poorly from an exercise session due to the drug. Early days, but a very positive experience. All other bloods normal. Incredible how quick it worked for me."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "I am just ending month 11 of venetoclax, teaming it up with obinutuzumab for the first 6 months. My blood work has been normal for 6 months. A bone marrow biopsy showed no CLL cells last week. I experienced sore joints, sore muscles, and a cumulative (worsening) lack of energy and exhaustion. It seemed to be worse month after month. I also gained 60 pounds over the 11 months of treatment. I worked up to 400 mg daily. I am looking forward to stopping venetoclax and hope these troublesome side effects dissipate."

Venetoclax for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "I am on cycle 4 of Gazyva and Venclexta. I have experienced zero side effects and feel great. The Venclexta reduced the size of large lymph nodes from day one, and they are now non-palpable. I take the medication with my evening meal and can't even taste it. Hoping it continues to work so smoothly."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "Venetoclax has been very effective. My blood work is now very normal. I’m moderately allergic and have had a bunch of side effects, but most are no big deal. I tend to have reactions to medicines, while my wife seldom does. They are in order of increasing severity: slight numbness on the tops of my feet, slight rash at times on my face, tender nipples, hungry much of the time causing slight weight gain, tiredness but with being a bit jumpy a while after the dose, and stomach troubles if I eat anything a little acidic or spicy-no salsa, tomato sauce, or even OJ. These are all a small price to pay for the drug’s effectiveness, although the last two side effects are beginning to get to me."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "So far, pretty unremarkable as far as side effects. Minor headache, nausea, more noticeable is muscle aches at night. Knee pain, difficulty getting comfortable when lying down. But I’ll take these minor inconveniences for the results that I’ve experienced so far. 1 year plan, 6 months in!"

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "Still ramping up, max dose of 400 mg expected this week. Have found the tablets quite easy to swallow and thank you for coating them, as I have some difficulty in swallowing non-coated ones. Can’t understand, however, why there isn’t a 200 mg tablet, as the top dose of 4x100 for the next 12 months is a bit hard to swallow along with my other meds. Side effects have been limited to mild headaches at times, medium constipation, with restlessness a lot of the time. Along with the infusions, hematologist believes it has contributed to a strong response/reduction to my cancerous nodes."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "I was on V&O, and it is a tough but fantastic combination. Love the fact that I could take V at home. Had to step back month 9 from 400 to 300 as tox'd, as diagnosed by side effects (stomach, lethargy, and general feeling malaise), but the last three months were a breeze. Weight gain unwelcome."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "Finished my venetoclax / obinutuzumab year-long treatment in May. Excellent drugs. Little or no side effects. Could continue with my life as usual for the duration. Some mild tiredness, but nothing else. With the exception of weight gain, it's been win-win. Don't hesitate. It's literally life-changing."

For Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia "I have Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia for many years. From 2020, September, I started to take these pills: 2 pills (2x100) = 200 mg every day till now, Sept/20/2023. What you need to know is that this medication has side effects, such as tiredness, joint pain, constipation, etc. Besides that, this one makes me feel very good and enjoy my life as much as I can. When I started to take it, I started with 50mg for a week, then 100mg, 200mg, 300mg, and now 400mg. My doctor, who is a very good Oncologist, has successfully treated me for more than 11 years. This medication is the second one I've tried since 2020, and I'm very happy because my body reacted well to the medicine, in conditions that I did not expect. Thank you to everyone who was and still is around me,"

For Acute Myeloid Leukemia "I have taken venetoclax in combination with 7/3 chemo for my bi-allelic CEPBA-mutated AML, and it has helped for sure! There are some side effects. I originally started off on a 7-day course, and it took me twice as long to recover for the next round of chemo and more blood product transfusions. So we did 3 days. It has not been near as rough, but it dropped my blood counts within 3 days. I don't find chemo as harsh as this medicine, and I recover quicker from just chemo, BUT this medicine has worked wonders for me, and there are medications to combat the symptoms. (Fatigue, neutropenia, bruising, tiredness, weakness, headaches, gum pain)"
