"I have been a migraine sufferer for years. Triptans were the only thing that really worked for me, but I hated taking them. It cured the headache, but the rest of my body seemed to shut down after taking them. My throat and all my muscles would hurt, and the slightest physical exertion felt impossible after taking the triptan (Zomig). My doctor just gave me a sample of Ubrelvy, and I was skeptical, but it really helps. The downsides are 1- it takes longer than Zomig to work, in my opinion. Almost 2 hours vs. 30 minutes for relief. 2- it may be slightly less effective at eliminating all pain, but gets it to a very tolerable level. It does seem to make me a little sleepy, but it is not nearly as debilitating for me as the Zomig. I think it is safer too for us older sufferers."

"Had migraine/headache for a week. Went to my general doctor to get a referral to a pain specialist. He gave me this new medicine to try out. I took it when I got home and the head pain lessened, then, at the two-hour mark, I took the second. It is now five hours since the first pill, and I feel like I can finally relax. My head is so much better. I am happy I got this sample and would recommend trying it! Worked great for me."

"Ouch, this medicine made my migraine SO MUCH worse. Did not help at all, it was a migraine of a 4 in pain, and after this medicine, it shot to 9. I tried the medicine again 5 more times, and same result. The medicine simply does not work and makes my migraines way more of a problem than before. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Don't walk, run away from this medication. Would rather be in the ER."

"Ubrelvy did absolutely nothing for my migraines. The only thing it did was cause vomiting and a worse migraine. Then came the skin itching and burning. Drove me insane, along with that, mania. Definitely not a good medication for me. I was so hoping it would work after using every other medicine and Botox."

"I was first prescribed Ubrelvy 50 mg in February. After taking it for 5 migraines with little success, my doctor increased my dose to 100 mg. I’ve tried that with 3 migraines, and I’ve still had no success and ultimately had to take Rizatriptan 2 hours later each time for any relief. I am discontinuing this medication."

"I have only taken this once after receiving a sample from my neurologist. After having a headache for 8 days that did not respond to several other medications and a nerve block, I tried this. It put me in a stupor for hours, but my headache went away. I’m still pretty nervous about taking such a new drug, but it seems to help."

"Terrible drug, the FDA should pull this from the market. Headache was worse with the drug than without. Also had some maniac episodes with this drug. Tried 30 pills total 50 mg, same results each day I tried. Did not work for me at all. :("

"For me, it’s better than triptans for migraines, and the side effects are minimal. Plus, there are no real drug interactions if you are taking medications for anxiety/mood disorders. With triptans, there are interactions. You may get a little sleepy for an hour or two, but it eventually “breaks up” my migraine to an adequate degree. You may have to take two doses, but it has a long half-life. I like it a lot, nothing is perfect, but it helps with little or no side effects. I only have 50 mg samples for now."

"For more than thirty years, I have rarely had more than one migraine a month, usually a week before my period. Excedrin Migraine occasionally helped lessen the severity of my symptoms (nausea, intestinal distress, fatigue, light and smell sensitivity, and, of course, the feeling of a drill going through one side of my head). Recently, I began experiencing weekly migraines. After a month and a half, I asked my doctor for an Rx for Ubrelvy, which I’d heard about on TV. The next time I started to feel migraine symptoms, I took the lowest dose, one pill. An hour later, I felt a bit groggy and postdromish, but the migraine was gone. For me, truly a miracle. I have used it for three subsequent migraines, all with the same result. This is the best thing that has ever happened to me, medically speaking. Maybe it only works well for people like me, who don’t get migraines as often."

"If your migraine wasn’t already going to make you vomit, this medication definitely will. I took the lowest dose of the two dosing options and still had severe nausea, not even ODT zofran could knock it out (on top of Bonine, which is a dissolvable meclizine). The lower dose was not enough to knock out my migraine, disappointing given the severe nausea side effect. I haven’t tried a higher dose because vomiting is nearly as miserable as the pain for me, plus nausea and vomiting give me a headache. Failure for me."

"Have been on it for 2 weeks now. Took it at the onset of a migraine and waited. The headache progressed, and after an hour, my head was pounding. I had to wait for the 2 hours to take the 2nd dose, which I did. Another hour left, and it felt like I had taken Tylenol. I have tried combining the drug with acetaminophen 1000 mg + naproxen 1000 mg to get relief while I wait for my next doctor’s appointment. Ubrelvy is doing nothing for me. I want to get back to Sumatriptan, though it doesn’t completely suppress the headache (which was the reason for changing), but it was powerful enough to take me from 10 to 3. Ubrelvy takes me from 10 to 9 after 2 doses."

"This medication, Ubrelvy, is absolutely TERRIBLE! Beware! I took 50 mg the first time, and it did absolutely nothing for me. Went back to my neurologist, and they gave me 100 mg to try. After I took it, I got so dizzy and sleepy I actually got into a terrible car accident. I didn’t realize how sedated and dizzy this med can make you."

"I received a sample of this medication from my neurologist yesterday and had to take one immediately. Two hours into my migraine, I was still in pain. I finally was able to go to sleep, although my head was pounding. The next morning when I got up for work...the headache was gone, but the hangover is crazy! I have never been so tired in my whole entire life."

"I’ve only taken twice (samples from my neurologist) but was told to take it at the same time I took other migraine meds at onset. For me, this is sumatriptan and ibuprofen, and when taking all at the same time, it did seem to greatly help. I don’t think taking this by itself will do much (as others have noted). I did not have any side effects (some nausea, but that is normal for me with migraine)."

"The first time I took it, my migraine went away with minimal side effects. Took it for the second time last night, and thought I was going to die. Headache went from 5/10 to 11/10, and I began vomiting and felt like I needed to go to the ER. I have an iron stomach and have not vomited in 15 years. Migraines never make me throw up. This was the worst I have ever felt, hands down. I am so disappointed but also very concerned because those side effects were downright scary. I feel wiped out today and will never take Ubrelvy again. I used to tell people a kidney stone was the worst pain of my life... this was worse. I'm still kind of in shock - I've taken all kinds of meds, and nothing has ever done this to me."

"My neurologist prescribed me Ubrelvy for my migraines. I tend to get them around my menstrual cycle. I was scared to try it after reading all the scary reviews, but last night decided to give it a try. I took 25 mg with a piece of toast at night in case I got sleepy. About 2 hours later, the migraine was gone. This morning when I woke up, I was surprised how good I felt. I'm sensitive to a lot of meds, but didn't have any horrible side effects to Ubrelvy. It gave me a slight stomach ache and a little dry mouth, but that's about it. I wish I would've tried it sooner. I'm glad I finally found something to cure my horrible migraines!"

"Took 50 mg dose at first sign (aura). Medication did absolutely nothing. An hour later took my usual 800 mg of ibuprofen, but it was too late. Full-fledged migraine, probably the worst of my life. I do not recommend this medication."

"Ubrelvy has been a lifesaver for me! Better than triptans, and I think it is safer. It also does not affect my athletic abilities. Knocks out a 72-hour attack with one pill. Now down to just two pills per month! Love this innovative med!"

"I’ve had pretty good success with Ubrelvy after many bad experiences with Maxalt. Maxalt gives me jaw pain, and the migraine boomerangs back the next day. Ubrelvy gets rid of the migraine faster and without making me sleepy most of the time, but the last two Ubrelvy that I took earlier this month seemed to increase my vertigo. I read the insert to look for drug interactions and found that I can’t drink grapefruit juice when taking it due to dizziness. Other people mentioned muscle twitching—YES!! The last dose that I took a week ago had me napping due to the pain, and my right index finger woke me up twice because it was twitching!! I’ll have to talk to my PCP about it."

"I normally take dihydroergotamine because it doesn’t mess with my serotonin levels (Imitrex) plus anxiety meds triggered serotonin syndrome for me. So when my neurologist said Ubrelvy can be taken with my current med and without affecting serotonin, I was excited to try. 50 mg seemed to help, but I’d frequently need to take a second pill. My neurologist raised the dose to 100 mg. Both monthly supplies of 10 pills cost $10 through the drug company’s copay plan. After a few experiments, I found that Ubrelvy on its own did nothing to stop my migraine. Taking Ubrelvy with my dihydroergotamine seemed to end my migraine faster, but left me pretty nauseated. Today, I could literally feel when my body started absorbing the Ubrelvy and I rapidly became too nauseated to do anything, which was unfortunate because I was driving. I’d even taken an anti-nausea pill at the same time as the Ubrelvy, hoping to head off the nausea. I am done with Ubrelvy."

"I've had success with Ubrelvy. I find if I take it as soon as I feel pain, it works quickly. I once took it too late, and it took hours to get pain-free, and the nausea was intense. Otherwise, it just makes me really sleepy (a welcome side effect because typically the pain is so severe I cannot sleep). My insurance denied coverage for this, but my neurologist was able to get me a year's supply. Not sure what I'll do after the year is up."

"I've had migraines for over 25 years and tried every single thing there is out there, if it's prescribed or over the counter. I was given this Ubrelvy and was so hopeful it would work. In fact, I was so happy that it did. Happy my neurologist gave it to me. So relieved. Thank you, doc!! I know this is an expensive drug, but I'm lucky I'm 100% covered, being I'm disabled!"

"Ever since my doctor prescribed Ubrelvy, I was reluctant, but the first time I took it with my symptoms already starting, it worked. There are also coupons I was told to get online that made it only cost 10 dollars. So worth it. It sure beats all the rest of them. Hopefully, the coupon after a year is another one to use. Recommend this to anyone who gets hit hard by the pain."

"Ajovy injection monthly, then using 100 mg of Ubrelvy when a migraine starts will indeed take the majority of the pain away. I will add a Tylenol Arthritis capsule if required, and a caffeine drink such as coffee. I have doubled up to 200 mg, but it makes me slightly foggy/heavy and will not operate heavy machinery at that point for safety reasons."

"Well, add me to the list of people who say this medication did not help at all. I would have been upset if I had to pay retail price -- $100 per tablet. Fortunately, my copay was 'only' $20 at CVS with the manufacturer coupon for 16 tablets. I usually take Imitrex 6 mg injection for my migraines, and although it makes me feel pretty uncomfortable, it knocks down quickly 95% of my migraines. My neurologist suggested I try Ubrelvy for the heck of it. Bad move. After two hours, my headache got worse. I had to ultimately use my injection. I'll be throwing the rest of the pills out."
