For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Have been taking Xeljanz for RA for over 2 years. It has changed my life, pain and fatigue are greatly diminished. I am 68 and probably more active than most women my age. I have had two total knee replacements, which helped greatly with activity, too."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I was diagnosed with psoriasis at 19 and started experiencing PsA symptoms at 32 (now 37). A few months ago, my arthritis spread and flared horribly, and the stiffness in the morning became unbearable. I broke down and finally made an appointment to see a rheumatologist. The first medication he prescribed for me is Xeljanz, and after a month and a half, I’ve probably seen an 80% improvement in my condition, with morning stiffness all but eliminated. I do still have some lingering issues with a few finger joints and the back of my feet, but hopefully, those will get better with time. I haven’t noticed any side effects thus far into taking the medicine. Unfortunately, I wished it would have had a bigger impact on my psoriasis. Patches are still red, but the scales do not grow near as thick. Once again, this could get better with time. Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with Xeljanz thus far and would highly recommend you give it a try for your PsA."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Since being diagnosed with RA 6 yrs ago, I have tried what seems like every medication and combination with very little to no results. Two years ago, my rheumatologist prescribed Xeljanz in addition to the Plaquenil I was already taking. I have seen a big difference in the degree of stiffness and pain I’ve endured for so long. I still have occasional flares, which I consider normal, but overall I am extremely pleased. I would do a TV commercial in a heartbeat to recommend it!"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Took Xeljanz for 2.5 months. Got a UTI (urinary tract infection), then a yeast infection. Then another UTI, vaginal infection, and yeast. This is still going on regularly for one year after quitting this drug. My immune system is compromised now. But my inflammation is gone. Now I have to worry about chronic infections and possibly a really bad virus. Xeljanz is dangerous, and I only took it for 2.5 months. I'm 61, female, 130 lbs, average. No other health issues except inherited high cholesterol."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have psoriatic arthritis and methotrexate, sulfasalazine, anti-inflammatory drugs, Cimzia, Cosentyx, all worked a little, but only took the edge off in terms of pain. I have been on and off Xeljanz (because of COVID) for over 18 months. Initial reaction was good and very quick compared to other meds, a few days for results. I have recently suffered with high blood pressure for the first time, white spots/boils on my torso and legs, extreme bloating and rectal bleeding (led to an emergency colonoscopy), and general anxiety, which led to a burst blood vessel in my eye. I explained all of this to my longstanding and trusted Rheumy, and he didn't flag any of these as linked with Xeljanz. However, I decided to stop my meds. Within a few weeks, my blood pressure has returned to normal levels, my spots and boils have all cleared, I have no anxiety, chest pains have stopped, and my gut has returned to normal. I can't say for sure they're all linked, but I certainly won't be taking it again."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Along with starting Xeljanz XR, I've changed my entire diet. Taking on this fight to put myself in remission so that I don't have to live my life with needles, infusions, severe pain, I wanted to find my own path to remove the inflammation, joint pain out of my body. Today has been three successful weeks of living on a plant-based diet. I've discovered ((it's what we put in our bodies)) that's got us so sick. You must change your diet today. This medication is working! After trying infusions, injections, seven different pills a day, and I still couldn't move, enough of that! This is the best I've ever felt in four years. This medication and diet have changed my life."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Started Xeljanz last Wednesday, and now today is Monday. I have the worst pain in my stomach after I take it, and I feel so depressed. I didn't see the depression in the leaflet as a side effect. I taken in the past Humira, Enbrel, Cimzia, Plaquenil, and Methotrexate-all made me sick and my asthma worse. The Plaquenil made me itch so bad, I got skin infections/cellulitis. The best was Remicade infusions. That did beautifully until I got an infection that landed me in the hospital."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) in 2012 after losing 20 lbs and going to the restroom a lot. I was extremely dehydrated. After I got out of the hospital, I was put on Asacol and prednisone. I finally got into remission. After that time, I started smoking cigarettes. I was in remission for 5 years without any medication. I decided to stop smoking, and it threw me into a HUGE flare-up with multiple BMs and blood. I tried Humira, and that made things worse, Imuran gave me pancreatitis, and Entyvio worked for a month, then stopped working. I started Xeljanz last year with 10 mg twice daily. It was working well, and then my doctor lowered my dose to 10 mg a day. I have been in a flare-up since. However, he put me on prednisone, and it helped, but it's tapering off, and so my flare-up is coming back. Other than Remicade, I'm not sure what my other options are now?"

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Xeljanz for 7 weeks now. Not only did it not improve anything, but each day it gets worse. I was happy to go to sleep before because that was the only time I did not have much pain. Now, when I sleep, I am in pain, and for a week or so now, I wake up with horrible pain in my leg, and I take 2 Tylenol and stay awake in bed till early morning when I can sleep a little. I am going to write to my rheumatologist to tell her that I think it's insane to keep taking this medicine that makes my pain worse, no doubt about it. I am sorry I did not do it before."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "62 years old and have had RA for 22 months. Tried methotrexate pills and then injections. Next, I tried Humira injection with limited relief. Switched to Xeljanz XR and found immediate relief. I have had no known side effects except some skin rash, and the rash might not be associated with Xeljanz. I am able to function in life again."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I am on 11 mg Xeljanz for RA, and it has only been five days. I had diarrhea several times a day since starting it. I really hope that goes away, or I will have to stop it. My upper body is really hurting since starting this medication. Nothing is helping. I take pain medication, methotrexate, and prednisone also. The pain isn’t subsiding."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I have Ulcerative Colitis and started Xeljanz last February for the bad joint pain that often accompanies colitis. It worked almost instantly, and my joints felt great. Unfortunately, I developed 6 severe infections in under 4 months, so I had to stop the Xeljanz. My joint pain is back, so today my rheumatologist started me back on Xeljanz at a half dosage. I was off it for 6 weeks and did not get one new infection."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "Xeljanz XR is the first medication to truly give me relief. It has allowed me to live somewhat of a normal life! None of the biologics worked, and methotrexate was a bust with lots of side effects. I've been on it for 9 months and am very happy."

For Psoriatic Arthritis "I have been taking this medication for about 6 weeks. I am on my 4th medication for psoriatic arthritis (PA). I feel worse on this medication than all the others. I have been robbed of a whole year of my life trying all these medications. The fatigue is so bad I cannot even go to work. I have had a venous Doppler because they thought the tingling in my legs was a blood clot. No, it was a side effect of the Xeljanz XR. I was put on Lasix to help with water retention due to the Xeljanz, and I was even sicker. I want to get better, not add more medications that make me sicker and a whole lot more uncomfortable. I have stopped this medication, and I am seriously thinking about not trying any biologicals. The medication is worse than the disease. I have been dealing with PA for about 15 years, and no amount of pain is as bad as the side effects and inability to have a life."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed 15 years ago with seropositive RA. I have literally been on every medication and combo. A few years ago, I was given Xeljanz, and it was pure bliss for 6 months. I felt like a normal person and very quickly! After about 6 months, it suddenly lost its effect, and I went back to trying new medications. Three years later, and out of options, I asked to go back on Xeljanz to see if enough time had passed that maybe I could get some relief for even a short period. I began taking Xeljanz XR this time, and again within a week, my pain and inflammation was lessening greatly. I couldn’t write more than a sentence, and now I have zero struggle. I couldn’t use my right wrist, and now I can use it completely. It is the 6-month mark this month, and I am holding my breath that I continue on this track of amazingness. I have had no side effects, no illnesses, and feel fantastic."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was prescribed this med. I have alopecia areata, to regrow my hair, but I've been reading about this pill and it's so scary that I haven't even started taking it. Please give me your opinion. What should I do, keep myself without hair and be healthy, or take the pill and see what happens with the side effects?"

For Ulcerative Colitis "Xeljanz was a miracle drug for me. 31 years old, and I had UC for about 2 years and had tried numerous biologics with no success. The only thing that would put me into remission was high dosage steroids, which I had been on for 2 years and had caused adrenal insufficiency for me. I was in the process of consulting with a gastro surgeon to have a J-pouch placed when my GI had me try Xeljanz, and after about 6 weeks, I went into complete remission. I take 10 mg twice daily and have had 0 side effects after 8 months. This drug gave me my life back."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Xeljanz for 4 months now. I have experienced less joint pain and swelling in some joints but increased significantly in other joints to the point of crying. Extreme fatigue, dizziness, nausea, and a general unwell sick feeling. I was previously on other biologics and then just on prednisone. I would much rather feel the way I felt before taking the Xeljanz. The way I feel on this drug is worse than being on nothing."

For Ulcerative Colitis "Was diagnosed with UC in 2012, that was after 2 years of trying to self-diagnose myself. Been on so many different meds. I've been on this medication for about 3 months, 10 mg, 2 times a day, and I have to say it's been a ride. I was going to the bathroom a lot. Now I'm not going at all. Every week I have to take laxatives because I'm not going to the bathroom at all. It's causing weight gain. I'm extremely tired now as well. I can't keep my eyes open. I was driving my husband and me home and was almost in an accident as it hit me all of a sudden. Pulled over so he could drive, but imagine what it would be like if I was alone. I'm so uncomfortable, and the nausea and headache are unbearable. I work from home so it helps to step away from the computer, but I'll say my symptoms on the meds aren't getting me anywhere I need to be."

For Ulcerative Colitis "I have been taking Xeljanz for UC for around 2 years now, nothing was working except for the prednisone, and that was killing me. This is the only drug I have taken that has worked. I do have some side effects, but this is a miracle for me. 10 mg a day."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "On my 3rd week with no improvement, increased pain, swelling, and fever exponentially increased, (not 'core' temp just 'hot joints') decreased energy, frequent headache, and increased depression! I didn't know any of these things could get worse than they already were. But they have! :-( Hanging in there because mine is in every single joint and 'unrelenting.' I don't really have flares 'cause mine is constant daily (and nightly) pain, swelling, the fever."

For Ulcerative Colitis "Pre-medication condition: Ulcerative colitis always active at rectal level. No way to get rid of it; I tried Vedolizumab, Infliximab, and Azathioprine, and also combined therapies. With Xeljanz: I started Xeljanz one month ago, and UC now is completely gone. I am surprised because I never completely reached mucosal healing without corticosteroids. Actually, I haven’t experienced any side effect, but we will continue to monitor my condition."

For Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was hesitant to try Xeljanz. The reviews scared me to death. I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did. I’ve had a few sinus infections in the last year, but I stopped the Xeljanz for ten days, and antibiotics cleared it right up. I’ve had none of the terrible side effects I read about, and it’s been over a year now. My RA is close to remission. I’m thankful for this drug, and hopefully, with careful monitoring, I will continue to do well on it."
