Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Took Xeljanz for 2.5 months. Got UTI (urinary tract infection), then yeast infection. Then another UTI, vaginal infection and yeast. This is still going on regularly for one year after quitting this drug. My immune system is compromised now. But my inflammation is gone. Now I have to worry about chronic infections and possibly a really bad virus. Xeljanz is dangerous and I only took it 2.5 months. I'm 61 female. 130 lbs average. No other health issues except inherited high cholesterol."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I had a flare of ulcerative colitis due to life stress. Was bleeding again. Xeljanz @ a dose of 10mg x day, it took 3 days to start getting no blood in stool. Quite amazing. I do have an ear infection though that I got from my small daughter so I'm taking precaution. Will follow up in a few months."

Xeljanz XR (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I've been taking Xeljanz XR for over 3 months and have found much relief from morning stiffness, pain and inflammation. I almost never need to use prescribed pain medications, I sleep soundly, and am almost back to pre-RA workouts! I have had to discontinue daily dosages on occasion, due to colds and flu, and I cannot seem to get rid of sinus congestion and discharge, but the trade off is worth it."

Xeljanz XR (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I’ve been taking Xeljanz XR for 5 weeks. So far it is helping me immensely. My pain is 70% decreased and my energy is 70% increased. This is the best I’ve felt in 7 years. I am cautiously optimistic, so far I haven’t had any negative side effects except I have gained 6 pounds but I think the weight increase has stopped. I’ve been blessed with a copay card so the expense isn’t an issue. I’m so glad I asked my rheumatologist to prescribe it!"

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I was diagnosed with psoriasis at 19 and started experiencing PsA symptoms at 32 (now 37). A few months ago my arthritis spread and flared horribly, and the stiffness in the morning became unbearable. I broke down and finally made an appointment to see a rheumatologist. The first medication he prescribed for me is Xeljanz, and after a month and a half I’ve probably seen an 80% improvement in my condition, with morning stiffness all but eliminated. I do still have some lingering issues with a few finger joints and the back of my feet, but hopefully those will get better with time. I haven’t noticed any side effects thus far into taking the medicine. Unfortunately, I wished it would have had a bigger impact on my psoriasis. Patches are still red but the scales do not grow near as thick. Once again, this could get better with time. Overall, I’ve been extremely happy with Xeljanz thus far and would highly recommend you give it a try for your PsA."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) in 2012 after losing 20 lbs and going to the restroom a lot. I was extremely dehydrated. After I got out of hospital I was put this is on Asacol and predisone. I finally got into remission. After that time I started smoking cigarettes. I was in remission for 5 years without any medication. I decided to stop smoking and it thru me into a HUGE flare up with multiple BMs and blood. I tried Humira and that made things worse, Imuran gave me pancreatitis, Entyvio worked for a month, then stopped working. I started Xeljanz last year with 10 mgs twice daily. It was working well and then my doctor lowered my dose to 10 mg a day. I have been in a flare up since. However he put me on prednisone and it helped but it's tapering off and so my flare up is coming back. Other than Remnicade, I'm not sure what my other options are now?"

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "Was diagnosed with UC 2012, that was after 2 years of trying to self diagnose myself. Been on so many different meds. I've been on this medication for about 3 months 10mg 2 times a daily and I have to say it's been a ride. I was going to the bathroom a lot. Now I'm not going at all. Every week I have to take laxatives because I'm not going to the bathroom at all. It's causing weight gain. I'm extremely tired now as well. I can't keep my eyes open. I was driving my husband and I home and was almost in an accident as it hit me all of a sudden. Pulled over so he could drive but imagine what is would be like if I was alone. I'm so uncomfortable and the nausea and headache are unbearable. I work from home so it helps to step away from the computer but I'll say my symptoms on the meds aren't getting me anywhere I need to be."

Xeljanz XR (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "Since being diagnosed with RA 6 yrs ago, I have tried what seems like every medication & combination with very little to no results. Two years ago, my rheumatologist prescribed Xeljanz in addition to the Plaquenil I was already taking. I have seen a big difference in the degree of stiffness & pain I’ve endured for so long. I still have occasional flares which I consider normal but overall I am extremely pleased. I would do a tv commercial in a heartbeat to recommend it!"

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking xeljanz for 7 weeks now. Not only it did not improve anything but each day it gets worse. I was happy to go to sleep before because that was the only time, I did not have much pain. Now, when I sleep, I am in pain and for a week or so now, I wake up with a horrible pain in my leg and I take 2 Tylenol and stay awake in bed till early morning when I can sleep a little. I am going to write to my rheumatologist to tell her that I think it's insane to keep taking this medicine that makes my pain worse, no doubt about it. I am sorry I did not do it before."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "62 years old and have had RA for 22 months. Tried methotrexate pills and then injections. Next, I tried Humira injection with limited relief. Switched to Xeljanz XR and found immediate relief. I have had no known side effects except some skin rash and the rash might not be associated with Xeljanz. I am able to function in life again."

Xeljanz XR (tofacitinib) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I have been taking this medication for about 6 weeks. I am on my 4th medication for Psoriatic arthritis ( PA). I feel worse on this medication than all the others. I have been robbed of a whole year of my life trying all these medications. The fatigue is so bad I cannot even go to work. I have had a Venus doplar because they thought the tingling in my legs was a blood clot. No, it was a side effect of the Xeljanz XR. I was put on Lasix to help with water retention due to the Xeljanz and I was even sicker. I want to get better not add more medications that make me sicker and a whole lot more uncomfortable. I have stopped this medication and I am seriously thinking about not trying any biological. The medication is worse than the disease. I have been dealing with PA for about 15 years and no amount of pain is as bad as the side affects and inability to have a life."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I have Ulcerative Colitis and started Xeljanz last February for the bad joint pain that often accompanies Colitis. It worked almost instantly and my joints felt great. Unfortunately I developed 6 severe infections in under 4 months so I had to stop the Xeljanz. My joint pain is back so today my Rheumatologist started me back on Xeljanz at a half dosage. I was off it for 6 weeks and did not get one new infection."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have psoriatic arthritis and methotrexate, suphazalazine, anti inflammatory drugs, cimzia, Cosentyx all worked a little, but only took the edge off in terms of pain. I have been on and off Xeljanz (because of covid) for over 18 months. Initial reaction was good and very quick compared to other meds, a few days for results. I have recently suffered with high blood pressure for the first time, white spots/boils on my torso and legs, extreme bloating and rectal bleeding (led to an emergency colonoscopy), and general anxiety which led to a burst blood vessel in my eye. I explained all of this to my long standing and trusted Rheumy and he didn't flag any of these as linked with Xeljanz. However, I decided to stop my meds. Within a few weeks my blood pressure has returned to normal levels, my spots and boils have all cleared, I have no anxiety, chest pains have stopped and my gut has returned to normal. I can't say for sure they're all linked but I certainly won't be taking it again."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was diagnosed 15 years ago with seropositive RA. I have literally been on every medication and combo. A few years ago I was given Xeljanz and it was pure bliss for 6 months. I felt like a normal person and very quickly! After about 6 months it suddenly lost its effect and I went back to trying new medications. Three years later and out of options I asked to go back on Xeljanz to see if enough time had passed that maybe I could get some relief for even a short period. I began taking Xeljanz XR this time and again within a week my pain and inflammation was lessening greatly. I couldn’t write more than a sentence and now I have zero struggle. I couldn’t use my right wrist and now I can use it completely. It is the 6 month mark this month and I am holding my breath that I continue on this track of amazingness. I have had no side effects, no illnesses and feel fantastic. (43 years old)"

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "I have been taking Xeljanz for UC for around 2 years now, nothing was working except for the prednisone, and that was killing me. This is the only drug I have taken that has worked. I do have some side effects but this is a miracle for me. 10 mg a day."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I have been taking Xeljanz for 4 months now. I have experienced less joint pain & swelling in some joints but increased significantly in other joints to the point of crying. EXTREME fatigue, dizziness, nausea and a general unwell sick feeling. I was previously on other biologics and then just on prednisone. I would much rather feel the way I felt before taking the Xeljanz. The way I feel on this drug is worse than being on nothing."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "Xeljanz was a miracle drug for me. 31 years old and I had UC for about 2 years and had tried numerous biologics with no success. The only thing that would put me into remission was high dosage steroids which I had been on for 2 years and had caused adrenal insufficiency for me. I was in the process of consulting with a gastro surgeon to have a J-pouch placed when my GI had me try Xeljanz and after about 6 weeks I went into complete remission. I take 10mg twice daily and have had 0 side effects after 8 months. This drug gave me my life back ."

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Ulcerative Colitis "Pre-medication condition: Ulcerative colitis always active at rectal level. No way to get rid of it; I tried Vedolizumab, Infliximab and Azathioprine and also combined therapies. With Xeljanz: I started Xeljanz one month ago and UC now is completely gone. I am surprised because I never completely reached mucosal healing without corticosteroids. Actually I haven’t experienced any side effect, but we will continue to monitor my condition"

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Psoriatic Arthritis "I took ONE dose of this medication and within 1 hour both of my arms went completely numb. Numbness and tingling started in my lips and jaw. The next two nights I woke up in the night with complete numbness again in my arms which took 30 minutes to return to tingling. Numbness and tingling have continued through this whole week, in my feet and ankles, and lips and arms, even though I stopped taking it after the one disaster dose. Headaches and eye inflammation started 3 days after stopping use of this drug. I hope I can be symptom free soon, and without lasting neurological effects. This was (and still is) an utterly frightening experience. I wouldn't recommend this drug to anyone."

Xeljanz XR (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "On my 3rd week with no improvement, increased pain, swelling, and FEVER exponentially increased, (not "core" temp just "hot joints") decreased energy, frequent headache, and increased depression! I didn't know any of these things could get worse than they already were? But they have! :-( Hanging in there because mine is in every single joint and "unrelenting" I don't really have flares cuz mine is constant daily (and nightly) pain, swelling, the fever "

Xeljanz (tofacitinib) for Rheumatoid Arthritis "I was hesitant to try Xeljanz. The reviews scared me to death. I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did. I’ve had a few sinus infections in the last year, but I stopped the Xeljanz for ten days, and antibiotics cleared it right up. I’ve had none of the terrible side effects I read about, and it’s been over a year now. My RA is close to remission. I’m thankful for this drug, and hopefully with careful monitoring, I will continue to do well on it."
