For Bacterial Vaginosis "Took 4 pills a day for 2 days. I am at about 13 hours from my last pill as I write this. Maybe I was extremely lucky, but I didn't have any negative side effects. No metallic taste, no nausea, no headaches, etc. I also notice a positive difference 'down there'. I took one pill at a time - 1 with breakfast, 1 with lunch, 1 with afternoon snack, and 1 with dinner. Maybe that helps to reduce side effects rather than taking multiple at once? I drank a lot of water and did not have any alcohol since starting them."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Like others, I have had recurring BV for a year and had tried other drugs. I was prescribed 2 days of 4 pills, then 4 days of 2 pills. It works - the odor was gone in a day, and I’m on day 3. I’ve had a headache for three days, was extremely tired the first 24 hours, a strong metallic taste with any food or water, and very thirsty all the time. I’m hoping this gets the BV for good!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "It works! I took Tindamax, 2-day dosing, 4 pills on the first day, 4 pills the second day, and yes, it made me very sick. I was sleepy, fatigue, nausea, headache, it was horrible, and that metal taste is totally disgusting. It made everything taste nasty for 4 days, but the medication started working immediately, within hours after I took the first dose. My advice to you is, if you are prescribed this medication, you may want to take time off of work just so that you can deal with your symptoms."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Don't let the reviews scare you. Everyone is different. I was afraid to take tinidazole because of the reviews, but then I remembered people with negative experiences are more likely to write reviews. Just want to add balance. I was prescribed 4 pills a day for 2 days for BV. I took all 4 pills at once with dinner because it's my largest meal of the day, and I wanted my stomach to be well coated. I had no gastrointestinal side effects at all. No nausea, no vomiting, and no diarrhea. Just took my second dose, and my only side effects were headache and fatigue. Pretty annoying and disruptive, but still able to do daily tasks. Symptoms are going away, so it seems to be working. Give it a try, just make sure you take with a large meal."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This is so far, so good. I would give this a ten, but the side effects bring it down to an 8. I started taking the two-day treatment and I still have this horrible metallic taste in my mouth. It causes me to lose my appetite because everything I eat tastes horrible. I also had a headache and nausea. I have been suffering from BV for almost a year now, and this medication has cleared it up really fast. So I have no major complaints. I will come back in a month and give an update."

Tinidazole for Bacterial Vaginosis "Battled bacterial vaginitis for years before I found out about Tindamax. It worked wonders my first round of it, 4 pills, 2 days. I got it again a year later, and this time ... side effects kicked in big time. My fingers were sore, severe muscle aches, red inflamed spots on my chest, fever, and headaches. It lasted 1 whole day, but the bacterial vaginitis was gone and I haven't had it since, but it gave me a yeast infection."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I will be so glad when I wake up tomorrow and don’t have to take another pill. I have the worst heartburn and bad metallic taste in my mouth. I can’t drink enough water. I’m tired and have a bad headache. But 4 pills a day for two days was quick. I spread them out and took one every 4 hours. I feel better down there, and hopefully, the BV is gone. I’ve heard with Mirena BV is common, but I’ve changed some of my cleaning habits, as my doctor said overcleaning can be a cause as well. Hoping for no yeast infection. I have been eating a lot of Greek yogurt while taking these pills. Very expensive antibiotic, even with insurance!"

For Bacterial Vaginosis "So I read all the bad reviews before taking this, so I'm writing this in case it'll help someone else. To avoid any vomiting, I ate food, took a Bonine (tablet to stop nausea), ate some more food, then took 2 of the antibiotics and chugged a 16.9 oz bottle of water. I did this for the second set of two pills I took a few hours later. I had to take 4 pills daily for 2 days. This didn't help avoid the chills, headache, or the metallic taste, but I didn't vomit or have diarrhea. Not sure if it'll work out the same for you, but I want to share in case it does. Not entirely sure if it worked for me in regards to my condition."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "Got prescribed 2 pills daily for 5 days to treat BV that my doctor thought would not be treated by metronidazole (spelling?) or basically any vaginal creams. It's been two days now, and I'm only starting to feel better. Definitely not as bad as it was before, but also not 100% there yet. I'm surprised by the comments about metallic taste and nausea. I have a very weak stomach and take antibiotics very poorly, except this one has really been a charm. I forget that I'm even on it throughout the day. I made sure to eat big breakfasts and dinners before taking my doses. Slight headache that goes on and off throughout the day, but really nothing compared to other antibiotics and their side effects. Have yet to experience the metallic taste."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I have been having bacterial vaginitis for more than 8 years. In the first year, I walked into a pharmacy, saw the drug Tinidazole, and just bought about 5 packs of 2g-4 tablets each. I took 4 tablets for 3 days without a prescription. I'm a registered nurse, and within those 3 days, I felt relieved, but because of the serious metallic taste, I reduced it to 2 tablets 2 times daily. That is how the infection resurfaced for more than 8 years. I have tried several drugs, they did not work, there was no odor, but I felt irritation sometimes. In the last seven days, I decided to risk taking it again without a prescription, I have just taken it for the 7th day, 4 tablets. I hope to take a High Vaginal Swab after this, though the side effects are terrible: metallic taste, severe headache, sometimes nausea, rapid pulse. I just hope I can complete 10 days before giving up. Lest I forget, in Nigeria, it is one of the cheapest antibiotics."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This medicine makes me feel like garbage. I am prescribed 8 pills for 2 days. I took one last night and felt like crap for hours. Took another one this morning and was bad for the first hour, then mild. Now time to take another, and I don't want to. This is my second round, and they made me feel worse last time. By day 3, I had to quit. That would be why I'm on it again. I'm trying to do it right this time because I do not want to have to suffer through the medicine a 3rd time! Makes me feel dehydrated. Headachy, metallic taste, nauseated, rapid heartbeat, and gassy. But it does clear up infection."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I had intercourse with a new partner who ejaculated inside me, and I started getting a strange odor. I tested positive for Gardnerella a couple of days later. My doctor prescribed me tinidazole for 2 days, 4 pills a day. I took them all at once for 2 days. She also said I should take norethindrone, the mini pill birth control. I have dealt with BV for a year, and this was a new treatment, so I gave it a shot. After my first dose, nothing seemed to change, second dose, nothing. I just had these pounding headaches and slept for a day straight. I went back to my doctor 4 days later. She said that it takes a full week for the medication to work, even if the dosage is just for two days. After a full week, I ONLY started to smell and feel a difference. I think the pairing of the Tinidazole and birth control is what made the difference. There are a few scientific studies about how the mini pill does WONDERS for BV. I also took Balance Complex and a bucketload of probiotics."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I was prescribed to take four 500 mg of tinidazole for 2 days to treat BV. The only side effects I experienced were minor headaches, fatigue, and dryness in my mouth. I was constantly drinking water because my mouth kept getting dry. Other than that, I’ve been fine. The drug worked, and I’m happy. All drugs come with side effects. Just deal with it."

Tinidazole for Bacterial Vaginosis "Well, I can say the taste, the headaches, the cramps, the fast heartbeat, which caused my severe anxiety to go bananas, is due to this med. Day 5 now, I feel like it's back. Ugh!!!! I don't get it. My muscles hurt too. It's making my pain from open surgery worse! Oh, and a loose stool an hour after taking it."

For Trichomoniasis "I got prescribed 2g a day for 7 days for Trich. I knew that I couldn’t handle Flagyl due to trying it before for a stomach infection, so I know I needed something different. Tinidazole, I take it on a full stomach, and the only side effects were insomnia, headache, restless leg syndrome, and an awful taste in the mouth. I never had symptoms and caught Trich from a road trip from using pubic areas. Yes, I know it is sexually transmitted, but you can also get it from toilet seats, wet towels, poorly treated pools/tubs. I’m 100% sure mine wasn’t transmitted sexually."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "I had my appointment on Monday at 4 p.m. Was diagnosed with BV and was prescribed 500 mg pills to take twice a day for 5 days. I took one that evening. On Tuesday evening (after 2 pills) I had a headache and metallic taste. I took the 3rd pill that night. This morning I woke up with heartburn and still a headache. Now I'm on pill 4 and my vagina is itchy and I'm sleepy. I'm going to take a Zyrtec."

For Bacterial Vaginosis "This drug tinidazole was absolutely awful, and I will never take it again. I had to take a dose of 4 pills at 500 mg each for 2 days. The side effects I had were a headache, my fatigue was even worse, the most disgusting taste in my mouth, and after my second dose, I woke up sweating, vomiting, and had diarrhea. It better had done the job of getting rid of the BV because this was the worst experience I have ever had with any drug. I'll give it a 2 because I think it did work, but the side effects are NOT worth it."
