For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I, too, have experienced various hypo symptoms since the back order of 2017: dry hair, hair breakage, and hair loss, weight gain, muscular aches and pains, and depression. The company says that nothing has changed, but I disagree. I tried posting on RLC Labs' site, and they blocked me from posting. That says it all! I found out, from someone who has done a lot of research, that the FDA has made RLC change the formula to call it a 'drug,' and I also found out that one of the ingredients is propylene glycol, a derivative of anti-freeze. I am not quite sure about that, though. I do know that whatever they did since the recall has caused problems for many, many people. I am now going to try a compounding pharmacy that will make up a pill with the same ratio of T3 T4 with only one filler, microcrystalline cellulose. Hopefully, this will finally help me feel better!"

For Hashimoto's disease "I was suffering with undiagnosed thyroid disease for many years and ultimately had Hashimoto's disease. I had multiple nodules inside my thyroid gland and a big tumor outside my gland that seemed to be running my chemistry in my body! Surgery was not an option, so I was put on Nature-Throid, cut all gluten out of my diet, and in three months, my thyroid blood levels were perfect, and the majority of my nodules were gone. My tumor was totally gone! At first, I went on an extreme diet, very similar to Atkins. I have stayed on that, but do have chocolate and natural chips when I want. I consider myself cured!"

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I have taken levothyroxine as well as Armour and felt completely run down on both. More so on the Levo. I moved to Nature Throid from Levo about 2 years ago and really started to get my energy back. Last year there was a shortage on Nature Throid and I had to go to Armour, back to feeling like I couldn't lift my head off the pillow. Thankfully Nature is back in stock, and I am doing much better. Hopefully, this will help others who may be struggling with their current meds."

For Underactive Thyroid "I started taking Nature-Throid one year ago for my hypothyroidism. Since then, my afternoon dip in energy has improved; however, I have experienced another troublesome side effect. I've lost a lot of hair, and I didn't have much to begin with. Also, my eyebrows are disappearing."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "Desiccated thyroid is the only replacement that lets me live a normal, healthy life post-thyroidectomy. I spent a year on Levothyroxine and was utterly and completely miserable and barely functioning physically and cognitively. Desiccated thyroid literally gave me my life back. I took Armour Thyroid for 15 years without issue, but they have recently tripled the price, so I switched to Nature-Throid. It is equally as excellent, and I'm very happy with it. Can't recommend it enough. I'm in the U.K., though, and we still get ripped off here with regard to all desiccated thyroid drugs as they aren't considered licensed medications, which means I have to pay out of pocket. Worth it, though."

For Underactive Thyroid "Was on the lowest dose for twelve days and experienced chest pains, shortness of breath. Sore boobs, early period, and muscle weakness..... This drug is great for certain people, but if you are borderline hypo like I am, I would watch your symptoms closely. Everyone is different though."

For Hashimoto's disease "I get terrible, scary leg and toe cramps (from thigh to toes) along with twitching of feet and inability to walk because of the pain in my feet, which stops when I cease taking Nature-Throid. Oh, yeah, and my legs get so tight sometimes while on the medicine, and I wake up every morning with burning and tingling feet (bottom of my feet and toes), which gets worse every day unless, like I said, I don't take this stuff. It is not a lifesaver for me; not at all!!"

For Thyroid Cancer "I have Hashimoto's and thyroid cancer. I've been doing well on it for many years until my refill in November 2017. I started my new bottle one morning, and somewhat immediately, I started having weird chest pains and felt sick. I then checked the pills, and they were noticeably different in color and taste the next day. From that day and for the next 6 weeks, I went completely downhill. Baker's cyst at 4 weeks and an autoimmune crash at 6 weeks. I have not been the same since. Can't drive, using a walker (I'm 44), and had not had balance problems until this med switch. After being checked for everything, I was diagnosed with ataxia, which is caused by hypothyroidism. My levels were fine the entire time until one batch made me hypothyroid. I finally switched to WP thyroid on the same mg's, and I'm now bordering hyperthyroid. RLC Labs swears that they did not change the formula, and if that is true, then 100% the raw material is not the same and is not good at all."

For Underactive Thyroid "I was diagnosed with hypothyroid, and my doctor at the time put me on Synthroid and also tried the generic brand, but my lower legs started swelling right away and continued to get worse even after three months of trying the medication. So I went outside of the general endocrine system doctor world and went to an integrative specialist, and they put me on Nature-Throid. I have been on it now for over two years, and I feel lucky to have found it! No more swelling in my legs, all of that went away once I started the Nature-Throid. I think for me it is much better because I feel like my old self again. I have to manage it and stay on top of it, but you just have to listen to your body like anything else and go to the doctor regularly."

For Underactive Thyroid "I gave it 4 stars because I did start to feel better on this medication. I started getting some energy back and felt pretty good. However, the energy boost was not worth the hair loss and weight gain it caused! I really wish I would not have taken it at all!!"

For Hashimoto's disease "Synthroid stopped being effective after a number of years on it. T3 was 'normal' but apparently not optimal, as I was starting to have symptoms like I had before starting the drug. Switched to NT in November, now it is mid-July. I feel 15 years younger, and symptoms that I didn't even know were related to the thyroid problem have receded. Have lost weight (yes, I am working at it, but find it easy) and can walk and pedal for hours instead of sitting on a lounger all day."

For Hashimoto's disease "A few weeks after starting Nature-Throid, I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis very suddenly. I am currently researching this to see if there is any connection. I had osteoarthritis all my adult life, but now it's much more serious. If you have had this happen, or know someone who has, I would like to know."

For Hashimoto's disease "Been taking Nature-Throid (48.75 mg) for about 2 years now, and feel great as long as I also sleep well, manage my stress, and stay mostly on the Autoimmune Paleo diet. Have been playing around with diet and lifestyle, and if I eat certain things, I notice a rise in TSH, as well as symptoms (brain fog, low energy, and weight gain). I checked it by sticking to the AIP diet for 3 months, and my TSH went to normal range, and I felt normal. It’s not ideal, but worth it to feel good. Also, I always take meds on an empty stomach in the AM."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "My best med is recalled, pharmacy has none. ): I was on Synthroid after my radiation (due to a thyroid storm months earlier), and the original endocrinologist refused NTDs, though my labs showed I wasn't getting T3 conversion, and the endo didn't want to 'take chances' (of me feeling good). But I finally found a doc this year who put me on Nature Throid. These last 8 months I haven't felt this good, this normal, since that awful radiation (please never do that, ever!). But today, boom: recalled! NT was so good. I started with 1 grain and immediately (that night!) felt 100% better! Went a month on that, and new labs showed I needed 2 grains. I got the 120 mg or whatever 2 grains is, and felt even more like myself! I've gotten so much done; I'm healthier (even with COVID going around)... but I couldn't refill NT because of a recall! I have a replacement (NP Thyroid —ugh, it sounds awful), so I pray in the Most Holy Name of Jesus we get Nature Thyroid back. Soon! Please!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I’ve been on Nature-Throid for the last 3 years and never had any issues. When the recall recently happened, my doctor put me on Armour. Within 3-5 days, I started waking up with a headache that didn’t go away all day, unless I took something for it. I was nauseous and anxious that something was suddenly wrong. This happened like clockwork every morning. It was relentless. It took me about 10 days to realize it might be the new dose of Armour. I stopped taking it, and within 24 to 48 hours, the headaches and nausea were gone. I’m not sure if it was the inactive ingredients that I was reacting so badly to, but I can confidently say I had bad side effects on Armour and hope Nature-Throid becomes available soon. Wanted to share my experience in case anyone else is going through something similar."

For Hashimoto's disease "Took Nature-Throid successfully for 3 years, 32 mcg/day. Developed Hashimoto's with a small thyroid nodule. Increased dosage by 16.25 mg 2x/week. Doctor did not do a follow-up check on serum T3 levels. Toxicity after only 6 months - weak, lung tightness - faint, developed food allergies very quickly. Scary experience which has lingering effects 1 month later. Switched to Tirosint, which has no fillers & T4 only. Working okay so far."

For Underactive Thyroid "The newest lab tests show that my thyroid is way off, and I feel like something has gone wrong, starting the last few years. When I try to meditate/rest, every cell in my body is screaming at me that something is wrong. So, after a dozen doctors and lab tests, I changed MDs and switched off Nature-Throid. Email from 2017 regarding the issues I was having with my prescription for my thyroid. Nov 25, 2017, got one new bottle of RLC Nature-Throid, and I had some of the older RLC Nature-Throid from Rite Aid leftover, enough that I can taste a difference between the new bottle and the previous bottle from RLC Lab. I have been double-checking this for a week and noticing a difference: I noticed I have uncomfortable brain fog, lower energy. I was taking it as prescribed, 130 mg. I called RLC Lab and they changed to robots and had troubles."

For Hashimoto's disease "I was on Nature-Throid for about 12 years, it was the best. I cannot take any other thyroid medicine because of fillers and other stuff they put in the medication. I am now compounding, but it is not working, my TSH is off the chart. I actually believe the FDA is the problem. They take thyroid medication off the market because they want you to take synthetic medication, which does not work. I continue to take the compounded one, but TSH is 43 and just try to function because there are no other options out there. Nature-Throid needs to come back to the market. Something is very fishy with the FDA."

For Underactive Thyroid "I was on Synthroid for approximately 15 years, along with Cytomel for T3. Out of nowhere, after 15 years, I started gaining weight, about 20 lbs over 2 years. I had to beg, but I got the doctor to prescribe NP thyroid. Lost 10 lbs immediately. Decided to try Nature-Throid first 85, then 97.5, and lost another 10 lbs. I’m 5’10 and went from 155 to 135. Synthroid obviously stopped working. I was eating nothing and exercising and still not losing. Now I’m eating a ton and losing weight. Natural desiccated thyroid (NDTs) are the way to go! Amazing! Also, Nature-Throid has no fillers or chemicals. There was some adjustment time with diarrhea and getting TSH right."

For Underactive Thyroid "My hair began to fall within a month of starting Nature-Throid. I had not been on any thyroid meds prior, and although I have stopped taking Nature-Throid, I have lost about 3/4 of my hair in less than 6 months with zero signs of slowing down. Have cut out inflammatory foods and supplementing as per my naturopath, but to no avail. Still fatigued, leg cramps, irritable (all symptoms prior to meds), and now hair loss. Never again, and I regret taking Nature-Throid."

For Underactive Thyroid "I have been on Levothyroxine for over 20 years. My friend encouraged me to try Nature-Throid. Found a doctor who wrote the prescription. The dosage he prescribed was 1 1/2 grains of Nature-Throid. I was on 100 mcg of Levothyroxine. I started to feel bad and had heart palpitations. I went online and found a conversion chart. It said 1 grain of Nature-Throid equals 100 mcg of Levothyroxine. I cut my dosage to 1 grain. I must admit my joints no longer hurt. I’ve lost weight. However, I continue to have palpitations. My heart rate went up to 113 and blood pressure increased. I have been on it for 3 months. Regretfully, I must go back on Levothyroxine. My heart is more important!!"

For Underactive Thyroid "I am hypothyroid. Nature-Throid gave me back my life!! It took away all the negative feelings of hypothyroidism, especially fatigue & loss of desire. NP Thyroid, Armour & Levothyroxine all cause severe mood swings & left me feeling hopeless. PLEASE bring back Nature-Throid - it has less ingredients than all the others which is important for my gut & constipation issues & feelings - it is a wonderful drug."

For Hypothyroidism, After Thyroid Removal "I've been on various thyroid replacement hormone therapy. I find that products that are natural work, Armour Thyroid and Nature-Throid. Both are equally the same for me. It would be nice if my dosage could stay the same, but since surgery, I find my dosage switching to lower or higher depending on my stress levels and whenever I lose or gain weight. Both affect my reaction to the medication, but I guess that's a part of life. I just wish one pill and one dose fit, no matter what. I give this medicine a 9 because it's more expensive and hard to find."

For Underactive Thyroid "Today, I suddenly found out that Nature-Throid medication has been recalled and is no longer available. I've been on it for over a year. However, after reading about the recall, it makes me wonder how long the subpotency has actually occurred because my last TSH values in Feb 2020 were higher than they have been in a long time. I have a lot of symptoms of hypo: constipation, hair loss, brittle nails, fatigue, brain fog, dry skin, etc. However, when my doctor tried to up the dose to the next highest, I had horrible heart palpitations. I'm scared and concerned because I have so many allergies and intolerances. This medication contained no excipients that caused me issues. The only one available like it is Tirosint, which only contains T4. My doctor called it in, and it's not covered by insurance, so I have to go through a specialty pharmacy. I am so angry."

For Thyroid Cancer "Started on Levo/Synthroid after surgery a year ago. Had lots of leg pains and just didn't feel good. Then tried Armour - better but still didn't feel right and still had leg pains. Now I am on Nature's Thyroid - feel much better and no leg pains. I have increased to 2 grains, started at 1 and 1/4. Feel more like my old self. I was starting to get really depressed thinking this was my life now, always feeling subpar. I even regretted surgery and remnant ablation. I hope this continues, but for anyone who has absolutely no thyroid, I recommend you take something that more mirrors your body's natural thyroid. Your thyroid does so much more for your body than you realize. A synthetic T4-only product is not going to cut it in the long run for us."
